Y'all need to come to The Republic Kitchen + Bar and check out their new menu! It is really good...especially their drinks!! Come say hi to my favorite bartenders: Eleina, Alex, Emily, Cameron! Music was not loud and made it perfect for talking to people at the table! For starters I had the Pepino Diablo drink (excellent drink to start the night!). We then ordered the Roasted tomato bruschetta and we wished we had ordered a second serving because it was really good! Pork belly tacos were also new on the menu and they did not disappoint! We also shared the wild mushroom risotto, perfect for sharing. Too full to order dessert, but we will be back! read more

Great food, great service, great atmosphere, love this place! Been here many times and have never once been disappointed. Great outdoor and indoor seating. Love sitting at the bar! One recommendation only: maybe put chive tv or something else on just one (of 7'ish) tv instead of just sports read more

I really want to like this place. Pretty good food- nice bar - lots of beer on tap But They are always out of everything. Tonight they were out of French frys?!? read more

Hiding gem in the area, the food is surprisingly really good. They have very unique combinations for most of their meals like spicy ranch and the ambience is great. I will say the staff needs a little bit more guidance because they always look lost or confused about their duties. Beside that it's a great small bar with food options for everyone! read more

Manager stepped up and made everything right . Alex saved the day . We have eaten here many times in the past with a rather large parties of 10 or more. We had one bad experience yesterday evening we called a manager, and Alex said he will take care of it. I expect it will be done he seemed like a nice guy. If it doesn't, you will read more here. read more

Took my younger son for dinner at this local place; front door service was quicker than expected which should have been the clue to things to come. For dinner service, the restaurant was very empty. Waitress was attentive but not confident in the food quality when asked what she recommended; Brussels sprout appetizer my son ordered was so undercooked a steak knife couldn't cut through the stalk; entrees came out-I had to ask the waitress if this was the adult portioned catfish (4 bite-sized pieces) and a mound of over cooked fries (if you were blindfolded you wouldn't know they were fries); shrimp scampi was lame and tasteless until the last bite where all the spices were hidden; overheard our waitress literally talk down the food to patrons next to us read more

Holy mother of wonderful food!! I found out this place existed yesterday and decided to try it. So glad I did. We started off with the okra 3 ways. YUM!! Then added some queso blanco. Also good. We ordered drinks and they were taking a while, so our waiter came over to tell us that one of the bartenders had to leave suddenly and they were a bit backed up. What a perfect way to manage expectations! A+ to Ethan, my amazing waiter. The bbq shrimp and grits was also ridiculously good. Making my mouth to water just thinking about it. I should go. I'm gonna go eat my leftovers... read more

First time visiting. The drinks and location drew us in. The 3 okra dish ( it's Okra prepared 3 ways) was an instant hit. This was a quick first review and I want to come back for a meal. The Drinks are interesting and a good mix. Pro tip - parking can get challenging in the evening. This strip mall has a lot of customers, early helps or enjoy the walk :-) read more

Went for brunch today and had great food and service (thank you Ashlee!) drink was a little strong but that's a good problem to have! Def recommend the Johnny hash- the sauce is amazing. We will be back to try their regular menu! read more

This waiter was super nice to me and my partner. We both are deaf and they make sure we know what we wanted. Drinks are amazing. Will coming back again for sure. read more

Over priced old fashioned that tastes so bitter , worse old fashion I ever had , fried steak was bland and dry but the sauce was good but for 22 bucks for a plate was not worth it at all . Don't see this place surviving upcoming new restaurants and bars read more

Came here for dinner on Tuesday night 6/15/21 with some family. I ordered the El Cesar Chavez salad with salmon and when they food came out the first bite I took I was fishing a bone out of my mouth from the salmon. So I started to inspect the rest of the fish and found 3 more bones. I informed our waitress and she kindly had it re made but when the second salmon came out I once again found 2 more fish bones inside. At this point I did not receive an apology nor did a manager come by to check in to if everything was okay so I asked to speak to one and inform him. The gentlemen came over and apologized but really did not seem genuine about it after I explained how dangerous it was that I found a total of 6 fish bones that I could have choked on. He also attempted to blame the chef for not cleaning it right and saying "I always tell him to make sure all the bones are out." Coming from the restaurant business myself and having my husband be on the corporate side of a big restaurant chain - I was very disappointed in how this place dealt with the issue. Please check your seafood at this place - they clearly are not ordering boneless seafood or properly cleaning they're fish. read more

Terrible service. Went at 11:30am on a Saturday and ordered a waffle and a salad (2 person party). Our server barely waited on us and the hostess was bringing items instead. We ordered unsweetened tea and asked for sugar substitute packers and were told the restaurant didn't have any. 20+ minutes later another server brought out an assortment of sweeteners. Hostess then brought out the wrong food item and we couldn't get anybody to come to our table (did not touch the food). Finally got somebody to show them we had the wrong food items and then had to wait for our food to be made correctly. I try to give restaurants a pass but the staff acted like we were a big annoyance by being in the restaurant at all. read more

Oh mannnn I thought I took a picture of my drink! Darn it. Get the Pineapple Express! It was taco Tuesday, the shrimp taco was fabulous. They were out of fried salmon (odd bc they had the other way?) or I would have gotten that since you can basically get a shrimp taco anywhere. I'll definitely be back for taco Tuesday again. It was a little cold, I like my food room temperature so it was perfect for me, but I could see someone being disappointed in the temperature of the food. But I'm not knocking off any stars for that since that's how I like my food. read more

Good food, great drinks! Staff is always friendly & on the mark! We have been here numerous times & I always try a new cocktail for fun. So far I have never been disappointed! FYI - big portions! Great happy hour! read more

My boyfriend and I went to The Republic last night and it was okay. The food was good but there weren't a lot of menu options to choose from. I got the mac n cheese, and he got the venison sliders and neither came with a side like fries or a salad. We had to order that separately. The place was quite small, the tables were cramped together, and we got seated literally right next to another table. The waitress was really nice, but it looked like she was the only waitress for the whole restaurant, so we were delayed in ordering our food a little bit. All in all, this place was okay, but I don't see us going back here. The food is good but overpriced, the menu is small and doesn't include a mix of protein options and none of the entrees come with anything, so you have to spend more money just to get a complete meal. Unfortunately, I don't see this place being open in the next year or so. read more

This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. The queso was delicious and unique, the entrees were very good, and the wine on tap was great! I had the special (shrimp linguine in a pesto sauce) and my husband had the chicken sandwich. Everything seemed scratch made, which we really appreciated! read more

Great cocktails! Great brunch! Friendly staff! The deviled eggs sound strange but you've got to try them! Chicken and waffles is spicy but awesome! Fried catfish and chips/queso are top notch. Their smoked old fashioned is the best old fashioned my husband has ever had. read more

I'm writing this after two visits spaced a few months a part to give a fair review. On both of our visits, they had a small limited menu. They were out of or didn't have the first thing we tried to order so we had to settle for something else. (The first visit they were out of a charcuterie board they had on the menu and this time chicken wings......what?) The server the first time was so stoned (not that I'm hating, just do it on your own time or remain functional..) when we asked what a grinder was, he went into full detail about a pot grinder... not kidding. A grinder at the Republic is what they call their sandwiches if you were wondering. -we laughed this one off. The second time we were there, our waitress didn't come to our table for 30min. We were seated out in the open, on uncomfortable metal chairs at a sticky table. We awkwardly waited for someone to come take our drink order. I want to like this place but it's dysfunctional. The food is good but not worth the other inconveniences of eating inside. I might get takeout, if they have what I'm wanting to order.. read more

2nd visit. All day Happy Hour on Monday's. Half price apps. Started with the Texans on Horseback ( jalapeño's stuffed with cheese and wrapped with bacon, drizzled with an awesome sauce). Finishing with the Tex Mex Campechana (Shrimp, jumbo lump crab, avocado pico, pickled red onions, mandarin oranges, cilantro, jalapeño cocktail sauce.) Super awesome. read more

Franklin really made this a great experience for us. He's not only the GM but when he's short handed in servers he throws on an apron and gets in the trenches with his people. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations. We started with a few cocktails (old fashioned and a mule) and neither disappointed. We had the trio, fried pickles, pretzel, and brussels as appetizers and enjoyed everything. The pickles are freshly pickled and a little more tart that usual but pack a ton of flavor and the goat cheese in the brussels really brought all the flavors together. The steak was cooked perfectly and the red-wine demi glaze was subtle. The sweet mustard aioli paired well with both the steak and the truffle fries. The pork chop had great flavor and the cheddar smashers were a fan favorite. The chicken fried steak was fresh, used high quality meat, and was breaded well. The ahi tuna sandwich was cooked perfectly, had great flavor, and did not disappoint. We ended with a bang (beignets) and left more full that we needed to but we will definitely be back! read more

The food and service was great the first time we went. However, the rest of the times we have been have been awful. The food was mediocre, and the service was horrible. Won't be going back. read more

I was really close to rating The Republic with 5 stars. We dined in last night, and we were happy with the precautions they're taking. The cocktails are innovative and on point, and the okra appetizer was really satisfying with pickled, grilled, and fried okra on the plate. The Republic Salad was unremarkable, though, but the Backyard Fowl sandwich was solid. We'll back and would happily sit on their patio again. There's some road noise since it's off Ronald Reagan, but it's got great vibes. So happy that this place is within 10 minutes of home. read more

Good service, good food. We had two great apps. Huge warm pretzel with four toppings and the Brussel sprouts. We could have stopped there and been happy. I ordered the burger and didn't like it. The bun was way too stale. And the beef just not good. I also had a side salad and it was delicious. My DIL had a patty melt and loved it. read more

the food has great flavor but the kitchen staff needs to warm the food better. I had the farmhouse omelet...it was very tasty however cold potatoes and the omelet was barely warm puts a damper on the food. I sent the biscuit back not only was it hard but a cold center is not acceptable. I do love the staff and drinks are on point. read more

So, me and my family went here today. I ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer. It was delicious. But, the little girl that delivered it, dropped one of the pieces on my phone. I said" don't worry about it" I meant hey, don't worry about the fact that you dropped it on my phone but I did expect for her to replace it. Yes, I should have said hey, where's my replacement but I didn't want to be an ugly Karen. I think it should have been a given. I paid $14 dollars for this and she didn't even have the courtesy to replace what SHE DROPPED ON MY PHONE. This app was more expensive than my main meal. I'm am very disappointed and appalled. I don't think I will make much of an effort to visit there again. Besides, the menu selection is a bit weird read more

I used to like this place. It's gone way down hill, unfortunately. Waiter took about 10 minutes to take our order. Food was brought out and was wrong. Had to be sent back. Also the ingredients in my salad were simply missing because they "ran out". They didn't tell me that it would be missing...just hoped I wouldn't notice the source of protein I was expecting in my dish? Maybe they will get it together again but for now we will stay away. read more

Visited this evening with a friend, left 10 minutes later. The restaurant was empty. We sat at bar while several bartenders, servers and possibly a manager proceeded to ignore their two newest bar guests. Another gentleman made the comment that it took him a good amount of time to be acknowledged as well. Needless to say, it was our last visit! read more

Was invited to check out Republic by neighbors and was simply a bad, bad experience. Service was non-existent as we were ignored and after ordering a drink I was informed they were out of the liquor I ordered but only after I inquired about it's status 20 minutes after ordering. Our waiter was clueless and asked us to repeat our order several times. Food was slammed on table by kitchen staff and we had to dole it out to each person. Look, I know new restaurants need grace but our experience was ridiculous. My medium rare steak salad was bloody and tough like it was seared for seconds and thrown on the plate. Friends mentioned their burgers were cold and wifey got no chicken on the Mac and Cheese as ordered but no worries as she got it 22 minutes later. No comp for anything on the bill. I'm good, you guys enjoy it. read more

Our 30 minute wait turned into an hour and 20 minutes. Several parties who arrived after us were seated before us. We asked the hostess three separate times how much longer it'd take, and the third time she said "oh shoot, we skipped you guys." After being seated, service was slow and inattentive. Worst of all, after already being hangry, the food wasn't even that good. Ours came out cold and someone in our party didn't get their food until 15 minutes after everyone else. Terrible experience. Look, I understand they're new and they can get busy, but they need to plan their wait times accordingly so their customers can plan accordingly (no way we would've waited that long had they given us a more honest wait time). The staff gave us a lot of "sorry's". All in all, I'm not sorry I won't be coming back. read more

The food is decent but not for the price. I wanted to try something new but definitely don't see myself returning. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming except for the hostess seating all the guests right next to each other with very little space between the tables. read more

Dropping them down 2 Stars .. Why ?? Lack of service. My son in law, who is visiting from CA, and I came in for a few drinks, the place was packed. I think we got the last of two available tables. We were immediately greeted and seated and then we waited for a good ten to fifteen minutes before I flagged down a waitress. We were thinking about walking out. She said I'm not your waitress but I'll see if I can find yours. She then came back and said she wasn't our waitress but she would help us. We ordered two old fashions at $12 each and the bacon wrapped jalapeños, but they were out, so we settled for the queso with carne asada. We waited a while then a young man finally brought the drinks and the queso. No plates, no napkins. I finally was able to flag down another waitress and asked her for napkins, which she eventually brought them to us. We finished our drinks and chips, and sat and waited again. Finally, I flagged down a gentlemen who was clearing the table next to us and asked for more chips since they give you more queso than chips. He brought them out and then our original waitress finally showed back up and we ordered another round. I'm serious, about 10-15 minutes later, we got our second round of drinks, but the place was now nearly empty. They really need to step up the service and pay attention to customers or they are going to struggle making it. I literally had to flag down someone for everything we needed the entire evening. Several tables around us were complaining as well about feeling left out. I love the atmosphere, the theme, and the queso, but if the service is always this way, I'd be hard pressed to return and drop another $70 for queso and four drinks. read more

This was our first time here. The food is good. The nachos were well served. My shrimp was yummy and my husband's salad looked good. The smores dessert was yummy as well. That being said, we wanted any other table than the one we were offered. I especially wanted a booth so I could put my purse down. It was not possible, there were other tables available, and there was a booth available, but because of a waiter situation, they wanted us to sit at one specific table, a round one right at the entrance. We froze. Every time door was opened, cold air would hit us. I had to go to the car to get something to cover up my daughter's legs. To make matters worse, 10 minutes later someone came in and asked for a booth and they DID give them a booth. I had to order coffee before I was finished eating I was so cold. Coffee was cold too. Don't get me wrong, hostess and waitress were nice. It is just that we had such a simple request that would have stopped us from having an uncomfortable meal, and no effort was made. read more
