That said, all of my experiences dealing with Shillion have been great and affordable when it comes to the actual work. He's worked on washers/dryers in multiple places I've lived and always done a great job, often noticing small inexpensive fixes to things like hoses or belts that were waiting to break in the near future. I was confident he had my best interests at heart. He's recommended to me a few times that I do some work myself (I'm fairly handy) to save a repair call, which he was correct about. IMHO they're simply understaffed and overextended. If you're flexible with your timing, I'd very much recommend it.

Shillion is in his 70's and knows his business, very knowledgeable and energetic. My frig// freezer had quit and he found the culprit very quickly. The whole job took about 1.25 hrs and to my surprise when leaving at 9:30 at night he stated that he'd be heading to the bus. He likes the bus travel and the fact that it costs him little every month. An amazing man, very likeable and straightforward. My freezer/frig is 20 years old and he said if the compressor goes again then it's time for a new frig! I appreciated his honesty and his willingness to work in the evening ,as leaving my food outside in two coolers is a bit onerous to say the least. Also was a very reasonable price!

This is a local family run business. Mum does the administration, Dad and their son Paul do the repairs. Paul arrived ten minutes before stated appointment time. Neat and tidy, extremely personable and pleasant. Went to the dishwasher turned it on and nothing happened but he heard a click. He said it is your drain hose. Then he turned around and put the handle back on the fridge, then went to the washing machine and turned it on and told me what was wrong (my fault not the machine) Went back to the dishwasher pulled it apart, cleared out the drain hose (tiny cap had blocked it) put it all back together again. Everything left neat and tidy, all done within 30 minutes and the cost was extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend this firm and will definitely be using them again.

When he finally agreed to ask the repair person to look at it, they found a replacement wired switch for in the handle, and the handle, and sold both to me and the repair person gave me valuable advice on how to reassemble it. I rate the repair person a 5/5 for being honest and helpful and knowledgeable. However, the store is sometimes staffed by someone else who lacks those attributes. They might do better to just close the store on those days. Perhaps that is why the reviews are either 1s or 5s. I was quite insistent and persistent to get to the solution.

I left the store and went out to look at the 'garage sale" items in the parking lot. I found lots of items I wanted to purchase, and placed them near the outside cashier, who wasn't busy at the time. I asked her about the discounted price stickers on the items, to confirm that there was an additional 25% off the already discounted sticker. She said she never heard about that. I asked her to check with her supervisor. She came back and said the discounted price sticker was the price - there was no further discount. I told her I would be right back, got in my truck, drove over to Church Rd, and grabbed a Sooke Mirror from a red box by the mail boxes. I showed her the ad on the back page of the Mirror clearly saying, "an additional 25% off our discounted garage sale items". When I went to pay for my items, she was talking to another employee, who had been stacking wading pools outside. I said to him "She should have been told about the additional discount". He said to me "What's your problem? You got the discount." I said "I had to go get a newspaper to get the discount!". Unbelievable! Instead of apologizing for not keeping their employees informed, and for all the trouble I'd been put through, he says "What's your problem?" I think it might be time for management to review their employees' attitude towards customers.

When you try to speak directly to a manager, you receive a curt email response from the secretary. Colonial Countertops refuses to take any accountability for their mistakes, and does not take steps to make things right for the customer. Once they have your money, they ghost you (Miro).
