The furniture is lovely, but the customer service is the worst I've ever received. Took 3 tries and an additional 2 weeks to get my furniture after the day it was supposed to be delivered. As well as myself having to take 3 days off work because of the mistake of the sales associate with not even an apology. They delivered the wrong couch the first time, when I specifically got that couch over another one I wanted because they said it would be delivered on the day I needed it. They also forgot other items I had purchased and after being told I would receive it on the 3rd delivery I still did not get it and have to spend more of my time driving to pick it up. The manager of the store hung up on me on the phone and refused to let me speak to anyone but him. Truly horrible experience, I will never buy anything from the Brick again and I will make sure that anyone I know also doesn't. read more

Pushy salesperson. When I told him my budget was $1000 for a mattress, he condescendingly told me how important a mattress is for my back and tried to sell me on a credit card. When I told him I wasn't going to do that, he told me to "let him finish." I went to Dodds next and they were awesome. There were 10+ mattresses in my price range and the guy told me to take my time and left me alone to try them all out. No pressure tactics, just helpfulness. Bought a mattress. Website says they do free shipping but apparently when you go in you find out you need to do financing for this. Instead $90 for delivery. This isn't obvious as their 'Learn more' on website doesn't actually go anywhere useful. Does says if you go to specific mattress and look down on page there (so it does state somewhere -- just not near their deal and their Learn More experience is broken). Also their 180 day trial requires purchase of a $240 mattress protector! They'll make pure profit on that. This isn't really a free 180 day trial then but a paid warranty of sorts. Perhaps they are fine if you can find the fine print, but don't expect them to be transparent. I respect transparency, so thus the 1 star. read more

I have to say that we just stopped there to check out while we're supposed to go somewhere else to buy our bed but then we have met Dave. He was super helpful very informative and he went above and beyond to help us out. This kind of customer service you don't get anywhere anymore. While we're looking for only bed and mattress we found an excellent dinner table and ended up buying all of those. He got us very good deal and arrange the delivery. In one shot we got everything we need. I wanted to write this review because people tend to write reviews when they had bad experience, so I believe good service deserves a good review as well. read more

We came in a couple of days ago, bought a new washer and drier from Gary Smith. Very nice guy, good service, my wife and I had done our research over the last 8 months, since Covid began, and wanted to be in and out as quick as possible as I am compromised, and he assisted us in this. I must say though there were zero safety precautions in effect and nobody was wearing a mask, to protect their customers, for crying out loud. Poor showing, in my opinion, in the middle of a pandemic. We will be shopping for new kitchen appliances in the near future but I have to let you know, this practice on all the store employee's part shows a massive disrespect for the public shopper as masks are worn to protect the guy you are talking to, as you are supposed to know. This combined with a bad experience we had in your store 30 years ago will make us think twice about going back. Gary listened to the old tale, but the manager, who was hiding behind a plastic wall, apparently wasn't interested. Gary was a good guy though, and expedited our purchase as fast as he could, since we knew what we wanted already when we walked in the front door. Customer service here was nil. There were about 4-6 workers and one other customer. Went to go buy a bed and frame. People saw us walk into the store we walked around the bed section for 5 min before a lady came up and asked us what we wanted. I told her we were looking for a specific one or something similar. I have never written a review in my life. But I feel so upset by the way the brick has ignored handle any of their dealings with me. I have had to contact them each step of the way for any notification or assistance as when my couch would arrive. I was told that it would be here on the 9th after purchasing it on boxing day I've had to arrange for them to deliver it, for free as it was their mistake,as they agreed and expressed the first and only time they contacted me. However when I called back to find out the date when it would be ready and they had no record of saying they would deliver it . I waited to hear back again from a manager finally call again and was told that it wouldn't be able to be delivered now until the 23rd. All the while I have had no furniture which is not the end of the world but frustrating nonetheless. My understanding about the brick is that they assemble your furniture for you. After waiting until the 23rd to receive my purchase which they did not contact me until the morning of to notify me of a time that wasn't really feasible so I had to cancel important appointments and nearly miss work. No communication from the brick whatsoever. then I was told that they're not responsible to put it together and now I have to figure out how to assemble it on my own. Physically unable to do so without causing further pain to my hands. They seem to have no regard for their mistakes or just courtesy and kindness towards their customers. I read other comments on here only to see responses that are clearly condescending and further expressing their lack of concern. I wish that I would not have considered buying from The Brick and I hope that somehow this review helps others. Also when I did go in the invoice to find out the tracking about when and where it would arrive it did not have a correct time. this doesn't make me feel any less angry about the experience but I just pray that it's in good shape and that I will have to time to put it together prior to the 48-hour inspection. I hope that they will honour their three-year warranty if something should go wrong. read more

Since there is not an option to give them no stars, one star feels like a compliment. But that is far from the case. My wife and I walked in, in hopes of getting a new area rug. There were 3 employees standing behind the cashiers desk none made an attempt to say hello or acknowledge us. We then proceeded to the back where they kept the rugs. Once we found them a sales rep saw us and continued on his way to ignore us even further. So we went around looking at other rugs once we got near the cashiers desk, the young employee who ignored us this time barge right on through and yelled to one of the employees behind the desk. With 10 minutes not one of their several staff approached us or even said hello. This is by far the worst customer service in Victoria. If you are looking for great customer service I would highly recommend taking your money and towards Dodds. They have an excellent staff that will do anything to make your day. I will never be coming back to the brick, ever again. Will this fall on deaf ears, definitely. read more

I tried to buy a bookshelf, but there was no bookshelf. Tried to buy a sofa, but sofas here are obviously not as good as Leons. Was about to leave, but the sales woman went on about how "i spent time with you guys but you didn't buy" and "I like the kind of customers that buy things". Laughable service. During the Tent sale at the Douglas st site May 13/19 Purchased a 65 inch TV and sound bar with sub woofer and a TV stand with 3 yr warranty a queen bed and queen mattress cover and bed frame spent $3100 in all and it took 3 weeks to get it delivered received all items June 1/19 totally unacceptable as well as there was a promo of a wireless Bluetooth speaker for any purchase of a TV over 50 inch and that was never delivered. When we asked in person at the Victoria Douglas st site about the Bluetooth speaker promo we were told that it was a different promo now and that it wasn't available to us! When we expressed our dismay over this the staff and manager was extremely rude to us and verbally aggressive asked us to leave!!!!! Wow Don't have to tell us twice BYEEEE BRICK! Just purchased a new mattress, pillows, and bed frame from The Brick on Douglas and I couldn't be more excited! I have to give a shout out to Codey Love, the awesome sales associate who helped me out and was able to give me a fantastic package deal. I recently purchased a bed from the brick. The young salesman was very good. The delivery department on the other hand is sorely lacking. Communications between customer and delivery is atrocious. I called to confirm delivery and was transferred to Montreal. Can the local store not answer a local question? Apparently not. When I was finally able to speak to a local person, they told me it was for a pickup. That was not the instructions I gave. I then had to call the install company to say please pickup. They were equally surprised that this had happened. All the more so, as I asked that the person setting this delivery up call the install company to confirm that the BRICK WOULD DELIVER AND THEY WOULD NOTIFY THE INSTALLERS OF THE DATE! The install company never received that call. I remember when the BRICK WAREHOUSE was first opened in Emonton by Bill Comery. It appears that with growth, customer service has taken a back seat. Will I ever shop there again. Unlikely. read more

Bought a refrigerator on April 18 2015. Had to reverse the door handle from left to right which they charged for at $ 24.99. When they delivered the door the handles were not attached and they for got to send the screws with it!!!! Then the fridge was making an awful noise and a repairman was send. He told us the microchip or whatever was faulty and he had to order a new part. After a few days he came back and installed it. Then lo and behold the fridge still makes the same awful noise and now it also doesn't defrost properly and there is a puddle of water in the bottom of the fridge which also leaks onto the floor. I wonder where they got this fridge make from ??? It is a frigidaire!!!! I will never shop at the Brick again after reading all the complaints about their shoddy merchandise. read more

I wish I never bought anything from here. After spending $4000 you'd think you'd get some decent customer service. I was suppose to get furniture delivered on Thursday but they gave me no delivery time. So I called them the night before to ask if they had a time range. The lady tells me to wait at home between the times of 8am-9pm. At the time of purchase I was told I would get a 3 hour window for delivery which they would tell me the day before. Waiting for 13 hours for a delivery with no idea when it's coming is unacceptable. I asked if I missed it could we reschedule and she tells me if I'm willing to pay an extra $100. Very rude lady on the phone. Unprofessional. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else. I've yet to receive the furniture ... so we will see in what condition it comes in. Figures crossed this nightmare will be over soon. read more

I purchased a couch from the brick (Langford) just over a year ago. 4-5 months ago I called about the warranty on it and had a contractor (not affiliated with The Brick), come out and have a look. He agreed the stuffing of the couch was terrible and needed to be replaced. I was informed it would be a couple of weeks until I heard from The Brick. One month later I finally call them, and am informed it will take a couple more weeks for the supplies to come in. I wait another month and call again. I'm informed they are not in yet and they will call me as soon as they are. I get a call about 2 weeks later on a sat afternoon that the supplies are in and someone should contact me soon to set up a date. A month goes by, I call again... "oh no ma'am, the supplies have not been delivered to us yet... this is going to take at least another month". I am given a date of June 3rd. I call back June 10th, and am told it seems the supplies are in but the woman I am talking to understands I am frustrated, and tells me she will call me back that day and let me know exactly what is going on. Guess what? NO ONE CALLED! This is the worst couch I have had in my life time. Its barely one step above sitting on the hardwood floor. The run around from the warranty it beyond frustrating. Never ever again will I purchase ANYTHING from this business. On another note, we were in need of a new mattress for our teenage son. Went to the Brick to get the run down of their pricing. 500 for the garbage mattress, 100 for a frame, 100 for delivery, and another 120 for a mattress protector that you MUST purchase in order for your 'FREE' warranty to be activated. So we went to Sleep Country. 400 for a mattress better then the one The Brick was offering, no delivery fee, frame was 89, 10 year warranty, not going to babysit you to make sure you purchase a mattress protector. I agree with other review and only reason there get 1 star is because 0 stars are not an option. I have never dealt with sleezier people in what should be a professional business. We were misled on a sales promotion after being told several time by the salesperson that the amount we were purchasing would qualify but at time of payment our purchases for various reasons didn't apply. Not only that but after negotiations on a bedroom set and getting a item switched for another I asked three different times to make sure we were clear on the items that would be included and was told yes but again upon payment and reading receipt the one of the items was not listed. We I pointed that out I was told oh no that doesn't come with it. My son also bought some furniture to be delivered to his new residence. He checked to make sure the items were in stock before purchasing and was told yes. Once getting occupancy date we called them to arrange delivery for which he had already paid. When I asked if they could make it between certain hours I was told no so I explained that the elevator could only be booked for a certain time period so if they couldn't make those times they would have to use stairs to 4th floor. Then then proceeded to tell me they don't deliver higher than 3 floors and wouldn't deliver furniture to 4th floor. I was so mad at this whole experience with them that I went to store to arrange to have a reputable delivery firm pick it up and deliver it and was then told the love seat my son purchased and paid for over a month ago was not available. Once these sleeze bags have the money that's all they care about. Both these purchasing experiences were nothing but frustration. I would not recommend this store to anyone unless you can physically carry your purchase out by hand and have no concern about after purchase service. read more

I bough a $800 recliner Online, it was delivered okay and worked great for 6 days. Now the power button is non-responsive and stuck in the recline position so it's unuseable (I bought for back problems). So I called The Brick and after 7 transfers I got through to The Brick Internet Furniture Service Dept. (1-888-857-1224). They said that if the chair had broken on day 3, instead of day 6, then I could get a refund so now I'm stuck with it. Only option is a service call, but if it breaks again I'll have to "deal with the manufacturer". I did the service call, but I have to wait another 3-5 business days just to book a service appointment directly and who knows how long before the chair is actually serviced. I feel screwed over by a corporation that claims, "Your Satisfaction is Important to Us·We are proud to serve you with our brand name productsand our dedicated sales and service team." Furthermore, since when do customers have only three days to return a consumer product. I will notify any and all consumer watchdogs about this cheat. read more
