I was actually surprised to see that this location has some lower reviews because that has never been my experience. Every time I've shopped here, I've received great service. I never throw away blown out tennis shoes because I use them when I work in the yard and walk for short distances. Just like food or other items that expire fitness shoes have a life. Depending how frequent you use your use, you could average 6 months to over a year. When I was training for marathons, I literally bought a pair of running shoes every 6 months because of the long distance running. I always know when I am ready for a new pair of fitness shoes. The red flag sign that scream shoe replacement is needed primarily is pain. I have a high arch and when the arch falls in fitness shoes, my feet hurt. Another sign for fitness shoe replacement include worn-out shoe soles, and a noticeable decrease in traction while you are moving in class. When your feet are cushioned, your feet are happy. They maybe singing Pharrell's song, Happy. Smile. To my surprise Academy was open until 10 pm. The customer service desk managed by Rick was super helpful. He allowed me take my shoes that I ordered online back to their shoe section to see if I could find a match in black. Unfortunately, black was sold out. However, I decided to keep my fitness shoes because they were comfortable on my feet, on sale ("Hot Deal") and I did not pay tax on the shoes. Happy feet...Happy Delores!

I am new in town, and after my move I realized my rod ive had since I was 17 (im 34 by the way),…read morewas damaged during the move. I have a 2-piece quantum spinning rod and reel, and the rod has been getting beat up lately. The tip eyelet got bent out of shape but it wasn't anything some pliers couldnt fix. Then my cork handle cracked, put some gorilla glue - good as NEW. But then the move broke my lower half large eyelet... It was cracked in half and it was sharp and jagged and cutting my line and myself. I cut it with my leatherman and tried to file it down as far as I could. Well that wasnt good enough, i was getting really effed up casts, and it was looking plain ol' ugly... So I tried searching some local places in ATX that would fix my rod... I bumped into JENSON'S after some web searches, and it looked very mom & pop - so I said, let me swing by. Let me tell you... This place was AWESOME!!! They were willing to fix my rod on the spot RUSH just in time for my labor day fishing trip, however I felt I didnt want to rush these craftsmen... so let them do what they do best in the timely manner they are used to. For about $20+ they repaired my rod in 3 days, they made my rod look like nothing ever happened to it. They put a new large eyelet, new epoxy, and replicated the color scheme and design in the area they fixed - it looked BRAND NEW. I can't express to you the big cheesy smile I had on my face - I felt like that 17 year old kid again, and the first time I purchased the rod and reel combo. These guys are super friendly, make you feel like you are one of the guys, and are just genuine good people. The place is a bevy of just great products, and tons of fresh bait too. You need some products, or amazing service and dont want to go to a big box store where you feel like a dollar sign - then head on over to JENSON'S! This place is too awesome to overlook!!!

Today, I went to this location to pick up Thing Two's backpack for school that I ordered online…read more The backpack I ordered was not carried in the store. Therefore, I had to pick the backpack up in store after order. I have many North Face products but have never purchased a North Face product at a North Face retail store. When I arrived at the location to retrieve the backpack, I was greeted by two employees. I was also greeted by a smell of mold (yikes), which was present throughout the store. When I advised that I was at the location to pick up an order, I was asked for my I.D. (although the employees never looked at it). I gave the employees the name for the order, and without hast, one of the employees went to retrieve my item from the back. The North Face company has been through many iterations related to the way it has positioned itself in the market. One particular change focused on DEI occurred in March 2024. The North Face began offering a 20% discount to customers who watched a four-part, one-hour "racial inclusion" course, titled the "Allyship in the Outdoors" program which aimed to "foster a deeper understanding of the unique challenges that people of color face when accessing the outdoors" (North Face). I find it fairly interesting that a company this large took this approach to educate consumers. Overall, I was pleased with the level of service I received when in the store and happy with the product. I also appreciate the North Face's forward-thinking approach to inclusion.

Skip the backpacks because you can do way better with other brands, but there's no debating that a YETI ice chest will last forever. Just expect to drop $50 minimum for something small, and maybe $300 for a full sized ice chest. This location won't help with online returns. So if you order something online you'll need to handle it with online reps before bringing it in. Staff is friendly here and very willing to help as much as possible, but still within company policy. Parking can be annoying, so aim for the pink lot for the shortest walk.

IME, it is best to get work done after the hunting rush. Wait times get worse the closer you get to fall. Apr through Jul is usually best. I had a pistol Cajunized in the busy season and it took a little over a month. I took one in during mid-Spring, dropped it off at 11, and had it done same day by 4:30. The DA/SA are so much lighter and crisper. I have Cajunized one myself, so I know what is involved. It is surprisingly hard to find gunsmiths with experience Cajunizing, or with CZs in general. I guess it makes sense, they are far less common than Glocks, M&Ps, etc. I have had smiths tell me they do not work on CZs, or they say "we can do that, we'll figure it out," which is not comforting. Each time I came in, the associate at the counter brought me to talk to a gunsmith. He knew the order the parts go back in, that some jobs like the mag release are easier when everything is already apart, and that you have to remove the front sight pin to replace the barrel bushing. The sear cage is a nightmare to get back together, so I'm happy to outsource it. It's clear they do a bunch of them here, so it takes less time than me installing it or a smith doing it for the first time.
