don't overlook this spot if you are in the search for a good barbecue place! Very pleasantly surprised by this menu. They had so much more than I was expecting, but also had a wide variety of what they were serving! I will say It is a barbecue spot so obviously you have less options for those who don't eat meat. I also am so glad that they were serving Buffalo rock canned drinks because that is such a Birmingham staple! The staff is super nice and they handled me with quickness and attentiveness even with the line for that day! It did take a bit for my order to come out, but I do believe they make things as soon as it's ordered so everything definitely tasted fresh! I left here fangry; full and angry. Did I just invent that term? Three stars may be a little unfair, but hear me out. The good: - Nice, hip ambience - Fun menu - Quick service - Reasonable prices. BBQ is always a little pricey - Monster sized Dino rib portion. I was hungry coming in and still couldn't finish The Not: - This was my first day experiencing Birmingham heat and humidity. Even in the shade, I was starting to sweat. One could say this is not anybody's fault, but one could also say throw up some cool fan/mist devices for your patrons. - I think the location is next to a daycare of some kind, because there were a lot of kids there. One could also say this is not their fault, but there was a screaming one year-old next to me. Yay. It's not Delta's fault that a crying baby is seated next to me, but that doesn't change the flight experience. - The Dino rib looked amazing, but the flavor was lacking. Seasoning a piece of meat that big is a work of art. Too much salt, and it's too salty...But I probably would have preferred more flavor than too little, because then I'm dependent on the sauce. - The sauce was the watery vinegar kind. That might work for certain dishes, but the meat was so big, all of the sauce just runs right off it. Which basically means I'm not getting that flavor for the majority of the meal. Normally, on an amazing barbecue dish, I will eat till I hurt myself. lol I just ate till I was full and left a decent amount of meat left because the flavor just wasn't there. I could be biased, because I am from Texas and salt and pepper is king. - The mac & cheese was OK. It looked like they sprinkled some pre-shredded thick cut cheese on top, which honestly just looked lazy. - At this point, I was getting a little grumpy with the whole thing so the brisket beans was not gonna happen. - I was having order remorse, but then I remembered the whole reason I got the Dino rib, was because I wanted to see how good the pure barbecue was versus a selection masked with salsa and other toppings. - All of this would've been fine for $15, but $40 bucks with the tip and a pop... Nope. - I wasn't just grumpy about the price, I'm a big guy. I did not need those 2000 cal. That meant I couldn't eat dessert because my calorie limit was maxed. lol Pretty fun place though. I would give it one more shot and just try the brisket, and if that was not fantastic...I don't think I would go back again. If I'm gonna eat Mexican food, I'll just go to Taco Bell for a fraction of the price. I was talking to the front desk girl at my hotel, (fangry, I tell you) and she said "oh, yeah, there's no good barbecue in Birmingham." lol read more

On a recent visit to The Edge, I opted to eat here. I looked over the menu before arriving but was still indecisive when I approached the window to order. The guy at the window beckoned me over and explained the menu to me. After a few more minutes, I opted for the brisket tacos and a side of pasta salad. After a very short wait, the buzzer went off meaning my food was ready. The tacos were well prepared and full of meat and toppings. I was actually full after eating two. The server had recommended the flour tortillas and I agreed that they were delicious. My only complaint is that the sauce made the meat cold. But it wasn't a deal breaker, just something that was noticed. I didn't care for the pasta salad and noticed that for almost $6, the serving was very small. I ate at a table near the restaurant. The ambiance was picnic style and there were lots of young children running around, enjoying themselves. I would like to come back and try the nachos on my next trip. Wow!!! First time visit to "Que Bice"!! It is so good! The creativity with barbecue and Mexican culture with ingredients in the food is absolutely magnificent!! there's no way I can describe every food item on the menu because everyone is unique with ingredients added to barbecue (pork, turkey, brisket) grits mac & cheese, etc. This wonderful little Jewel is located in the New edge over here in Homewood.! which is another fantastic place and another review will be coming! Evan, was that the Window today and explained everything that we needed to know that made a selection tough! But the following pictures speaks for itself! Working my way through the different food options at the Edge Entertainment District, The QueBicle was next on my list. Taco Tuesday meant trying the Smoked Brisket Tacos with Que Slaw, Crema, Pico, Cotija, Queso & Onion Dust. While I am not opposed to slaw on a taco, the mayo was overpowering. I liked the brisket and other ingredients together but will probably go with a different option on my next visit. Maybe one of the sandwiches, Brisket Helper or Smoked Turkey Club Tacos. Tried this spot at The Edge and I have to say it's pretty good. Not surprising given that it's run by the people who run Porky's Pride Smokehouse in Hayden, which is a real gem out there if you're in that area near Rickwood Caverns. The cheese grits are a must. Definitely get those. The meats are all up to par and I'm a fan of their pulled pork in particular, but whatever you get you can expect it to be good. Prices are reasonable, and there is plenty of room to sit given that it's in The Edge which is somewhat of an outdoor food hall. Overall a solid option and a nice venue in which to spend a little time. Will definitely return. read more

This was a cute little BBQ place located within The Edge. It's BBQ with a flare. I got to pork nachos which were a little spicy but great! The nacho chips were bbq flavor, loaded with sauce, tomatoes, Cojita cheese and green onions. It was a good portion for $11. My boyfriend got the Reuben sandwich was kimchi Brussel sprouts. The sandwhich was really good! The bread was toasted, 1000 island dressing had a unique flavor, several different cheeses, great crunch in the sour krout, and meat was cooked tender! The Brussels were cold and probably a little too salty for my taste. I'll try a different side next time. Great place to bring family and hang out to enjoy the outdoors! read more

The bbq nachos are worth 5 stars alone!! I read the reviews and just had to have them. They did not disappoint! The star of the entire dish has to be the chips, as they did not get soggy AT ALL!! The bbq pork has a nice flavor. And all the toppings were very fresh. I don't normally go crazy over nachos but the ones here are Fantastic! The service was friendly and my order didn't take long. Tried somewhere new this afternoon for a late lunch. The young lady working by herself did a great job and was very friendly. We tried the brisket nachos and a pork plate with a side of Que slaw and macaroni and cheese. The nachos were pretty good. I am not sure we didn't get a mix of pork/brisket on the plate, but regardless it tasted good. The sides were good. Need to add real sweet tea to the drink options. Ceiling fans kept the seating area very comfortable on a hot summer day. read more

I ordered the pulled pork with pork belly and I was blown away. The sandwich had 3 buns and separated meats. The sauce was awesome. I can't say enough about the food. They give you a pager for your order so you can shop around.while waiting on your food. Oh yeah. I ordered the bar b q Brussels sprouts as a side, since it came with my order. WOW. I ordered the manager special the sandwich was a little dry to me. The mac and cheese lacked flavor they could have seasoned the water before cooking the noodles. The ambiance was nice outdoors feel with the screen to watch a movie. I went when they first opened. I will try it again to see if it was improvement read more

Super disappointed with the service. While eating here tonight my son threw his stuffed animal on the over hang outside by mistake. I asked the guy working here if I could borrow the broom to knock it down. He said, "we don't have one." We could see the brooms in the back of the kitchen from the window andmy son even said "we could just use one of those" and he just cold repeated, "we don't have one". He lied, he was rude and I wouldn't recommend on service alone. read more
