Great restaurant. Stumbled upon it while exploring Birmingham this morning and I'm glad I did! The interior was nice and the cashier was kind, but the best thing by far was the food. Ladybird offers various types of breakfast tacos, with one of which even including chorizo. This is my absolute FAVORITE brunch place in Birmingham. If you are looking for the best tortillas around this is the place. They make fresh flour tortillas all morning right where you order. They have a taco for everyone, I love their vegetarian options. Their menu is split into a breakfast and lunch menu, so you can get the best of both worlds. My go-to order is a #7 and a #11, and this place has definitely mastered a flavorful and affordable taco. They have a salsa bar, and my favorite is the creamy green salsa, which is perfectly spicy. I also love their matcha and iced latte. The interior is bright with lots of natural lighting, perfect for a pretty morning. The location of this spot is great with lots of places to walk around to and outdoor seating for the good weather days. They are fairly quick to get orders out, but be ready for a line because they are usually busy when I go. That speaks volumes to how great this place does brunch. read more

Cool vibe and freshly made taco shells make this place look incredible. Friendly person took my order with a big smile that was contagious. I had tacos #7, 9, and 10, but I only had two bites of #9. 10 was the best of the three, because the meat in 7 and 9 was overcooked and had hard bits like it had been left out too long or reused too often (not accusing them of doing this, but that is the flavor profile). The chicken one (9) had these really bitter bits that tasted freezer-burnt. The cheese and veggie taco was flavorful and yummy, especially with the creamy jalapeño sauce they have. Great place for breakfast or lunch. I love that they have food and coffee but it's not a cafe, it's a full restaurant. The options on the menu are great and everything's so good. I got a pumpkin spice latte today and it was good but I lowkey wondered if there was actually coffee in it. The salsas are great, my favorite is the salsa verde. Hip little taco place in a shopping area - it was quite busy when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We waited in line for about 10-15 minutes to order, but our food arrived quickly after that. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The tacos are rather small, so you'll want to order 2-3 for lunch. The tortillas are freshly made and have a wonderful bite to them. All of the tacos we tried were good. The homemade beverages were really enjoyable and refreshing - limeaide and watermelon agua fresco. They have salsas and water you can help yourself - no ice for the room temp tap water though. One of the reasons I enjoy traveling to Austin is the opportunity to enjoy their breakfast tacos. When I learned Birmingham was serving up breakfast tacos, I was definitely going to stop by and enjoy a meal. Even though I arrived around lunch time I was excited to find out they serve breakfast tacos ALL DAY. I had two #6 $8.10 and an iced AGT with oat milk $6.65. It's a very large space with lots of tables for large or small groups and they also have tables outside. I was surprised by the number of people working on their computers or having business meetings. Even though it was busy I was still able to find a table and it wasn't loud inside. By the way, walk in place your order and then you're provided a number and your food is brought out to you. All employees I interacted with were very friendly and really seemed to enjoy their job. Seriously, great service! I also noticed they kept the tables clean. There's a salsa bar with three different salsas, I recommend getting a few before your meal is brought out. It's a very clean and modern restaurant, they make their tortillas, serve breakfast tacos ALL DAY, make delicious food, and provide excellent service. I've been to Ladybird a few times, and get their tacos around Birmingham at Cala and June, and love the casual breakfast tacos and salsa, but on a recent visit to the brick-and-mortar location in Mountain Brook had a not-so-great experience relating to customer service. My partner and I arrived at Ladybird at 3:15, knowing that they close at 4 but that orders come out quickly as it is a fast-casual restaurant. The person who rang our order up did not ask if our order was eat-in or take-out, and when it was ready, before 3:25, they had it bagged up for take-out. We live 50 minutes away and were planning to eat in, so we unpacked the bag at a table, knowing that we would be finished eating our meal well before 4. The employees exchanged confused looks and proceeded to come to our section and (very loudly) re-arrange all of the tables around our table, stacking chairs, and acting pretty bothered by our presence. This was a good half hour before they closed. As a person who has worked food service, I get closing procedures, but acting overtly annoyed by two customers trying to eat their meal well before you close is rude. We finished our tacos by 3:50 and left, walking by a few teenage/young employees who seemed annoyed that we were still there. I'm glad that there are a few places in town that carry their tacos, as it is unlikely that I'll be back to their storefront. read more

Wow - I can't recommend Ladybird Taco enough!! I had never tried this incredible restaurant and was hesitant at first just as I am not typically the hugest taco fan. However, it was such an amazing experience with such delicious food and friendly staff that I would love to come back here the next time I'm in town!! First of all, the dining room is so open and inviting with windows surrounding the interior that it feels very spacious. The atmosphere is super friendly and relaxed. Second, the employee that helped us with recommendations and ordering at the front, Ivan, was so kind. He is what made it such an excellent experience as he consistently went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great time and everything was delicious. Third, they have such a fun and creative sauce/salsa station where you can pick which flavors to try with your tacos and/or chips that it was fun to try the different combinations they had available! We've been wanting to try this place for quite a while now. We've heard some good things about it, but haven't made it out here - blame the little ones, blame busy schedules, but we just haven't. But we decided we were going to rectify that. We stopped in and I grabbed a table for the kids while my wife waited through the line. The order made it out fairly quickly. I got two tacos - a #4 (chorizo, egg, and cheese) and a #7 (brisket, potato, rajas, queso) and both were very good. The #4 could have had a tad more chorizo, but was brimming with egg, and the chorizo had such a good flavor, it still tasted delicious and probably needed that much egg to balance it out. The brisket on the #7 taco was good as well, and I was very happy with the flavor of it. We also got some queso with brisket in it, and the chips with the queso were a hit for all of us, including our toddler. I hope to come back again soon! read more

Yum! I've tried this place in Nashville before and had a pretty okay experience. I checked it out today for lunch, and I am so glad I did! I remembered they gave out complimentary salsas and sauces so I definitely wanted to stock up on those. I ordered two tacos. I chose the #3 Breakfast Taco which included bacon, eggs, and potatoes. I liked it, and used my dipping salsas all of which were a little hotter than I'm used to. It was pretty good, and I loved how crispy the potato strips were. Next up was the #7 Lunch Taco that had brisket, potatoes, raja, and queso. Now that's what I'm taco-ing about! That was my favorite of all the tacos I've tried at their locations! Taco Tuesday seemed an appropriate day to try out this new location in Lane Park. I decided to try the Chorizo Egg & Cheese, the Brisket Potato Taco, an order of Chips & Queso and the Watermelon Aqua Fresca. Both the breakfast and lunch taco menus are served all day. I liked both of my choices and would get either again. The Chips & Queso were good as well. Unsurprisingly it is more of a Tex-Mex style queso instead of the white cheese dip found at most Mexican restaurants. The chips were salted well. The Watermelon Agua Fresca was the highlight though. Unfortunately no refills on it. They have a salsa bar that you can get small cups of the roasted tomatillo, patron, roja salsas. The patron was out when I was there so I only tried the tomatillo and roja. In moderation I thought both were ok. As much as I liked it, the location not being very close to my office and the price point $20+ for 2 tacos, queso and a drink means I probably will not be a regular for lunch. Once they add margaritas, I would be very tempted to try again on the weekend or if they added dinner hours. read more
