Great time headed back to Moe's with my children for dinner. The server was nice and she talked kindly as we placed each of our orders. The food was severed quickly and each of us liked our meals. It's a nice place for dodos and good place to hang out with people to chat with.

    Turkey! Juicy and delicious.

Finally! Something different from the same American food. I don't eat spicy; there are no options either. My turkey was delicious, and the cornbread was delightful. I am sure I will come again. The ambiance is suitable for a fast-food restaurant.

Not to be confused with Moe's Southwest, Moe's Original BBQ is an excellent BBQ joint that has the basics and extras to make it noticeable to foodies everywhere. I have enjoyed Moe's Original BBQ in Vestavia for a few years with my go-to entree being their fried catfish! Yom Yom Yom! This Moe's is located in the relatively "new" Brock's Gap shopping strip. It's at the very end of the strip with the OS1 Sports Injury Clinic right next door. This eclectic strip also includes a ballet studio, The Trak Shak, Whole Scoop Ice Cream Shop, Santos Coffee and Tre Luna Bar & Kitchen. This Moe's has a large spacious and inviting outdoor dining area, but probably not used much during this time of year. The interior sports a large brightly lit bar on the left with several large flat screens scattered throughout. Can you say sports game view-in?!? On the right are also ample seating options. If you walk straight ahead, you'll find the TO-GO order and pickup area. Since we were getting take-out, this was where we landed. Sarah ordered their popular pulled pork sandwich with mac n cheese and collard greens. The pork practically melts in your mouth with just the right amount of bbq marinade. Of course Sarah had to add more. She did complain that the mac n cheese was tasteless, but Tammy and I thought it was good. Tammy tried the Chicken salad. The to-go container was packed with fresh chopped romaine lettuce, cabbage, carrots, tomoatoes, cucumbers, red onions, sprinkled with cheese with a side of white BBQ sauce. The breast of white meat was tender and separated with ease. Her salad came with a beautifully buttered toasted cornbread. As I mentioned I normally order their fried catfish, but I was drawn to their "special"... turkey pork jambalaya. I had to try it and I'm glad I did. I didn't care for the bits of turkey but the shredded pork was a nice touch as I'm used to the traditional sausage jambalaya. There was also plenty of onions, celery, and had a nice spicy kick! Yom Yom Yom. My side of collard greens could've used a sprinkle of salt, but was palatable. This is a great location for a Moe's. It will add a bit of home-town touch to these other restaurants around Brock's Gap. I look forward to returning and trying their Redneck Nachos.

I haven't dined in, but I want to because there drink menu looks good. We were in the mood for barbecue and we remembered this Moe's opened up close to us. We ordered and picked up our food with no problem. Once we got home, we dived in! Everything was oh so good! We had leftovers and they were good, too. I'd definitely eat here again.

Moe's is a large and successful franchise, but it still feels like a down-to-earth hometown BBQ joint. This stems from it's southern roots, and with sides dishes like collards, cornbread, and banana pudding it's a safe bet it started in Alabama. This location has a large outdoor dining area that is great for lunch or dinner. But, I think it will eventually need something to shade customers from the Alabama sun. The outdoor patio allows dogs, and Macey (the golden pup) enjoyed going out on a Friday night. For dinner I ordered the Small Rib Plate with collards and marinated slaw as my two sides. It comes with a piece of yummy cornbread. The ribs were excellent, I assume they were back ribs because they were small bones and they had the cartilage on one end. The ribs had a tasty salty rub, and the Sweet BBQ sauce was a perfect complement to it. The collards were very flavorful, and they were cooked with chopped bacon. The marinated slaw is vinegar based and had a refreshing flavor without being too sour. I had the frozen lemonade cocktail and it was cold and refreshing. My dinner companions enjoyed Puled Pork and Turkey plates, and they enjoyed their choices. They raved about the frozen Bushwacker cocktails. Service was good, and overall a wonderful dining experience.

Came back again last night for dinner. We were able to sit outside which was great since it was beautiful out. Outdoor seating is nice. There is even an outdoor bar area. I ordered the pork platter which came with two sides and corn bread. I chose the baked beans and the red beans and rice which was a special side. Everything was great. Pork was delicious. They really give you a lot of it. I had plenty to take home. I had to ask for extra sauce because it wasn't enough for me or the hubs. My only real complaint is that everything could have been hotter. Temperature of everything was slightly warm. Otherwise, it was all good.

So glad they got a location close to us, the food is as good as it is all over. The staff were very friendly and checked on us frequently. We did order the bushwhackers as that is our favorite drink from this chain... I will say however since we were the first ones to ask for them at 5pm we had to wait a long while as they had none made. I will say they were not as good as the one in Tuscaloosa...hence the 4 stars and not 5. We will be back to give the bushwhackers one more try, if not good then I will continue to make these at home...

This spot was great. The food is delivered to your table after ordering. I actually sat and the bar and the guy who took my order was also the bar tender. He did an excellent job of working the bar and the register. They have a about 7-8 TV's that you can view from every part if the restaurant. They have a-lot of parking. The smoked wings were pretty damn good and i would most definitely go back for them. The collard greens were just ok. They have an open parking lot for them and other spots in the plaza. All the workers were friendly. This was my first time at Moe's Original and i see they have one in my home city. The food my friends and family had looked great also. They ran out if lemonade and it was only 2:00pm. They didn't change it when i pointed it out to one of the workers but i am pretty sure they did it at some point as they were busy. They have outside patio seating thats not covered but a-lot of people enjoyed eating outside.

I didn't realize they had opened a location back in this neighborhood .... really good move! I've been to a few of the other locations and have always liked what they have to offer. This one is totally new on inside and out. They have a great outdoor patio area that would be perfect for those not too hot days. Inside area is large and allows for plenty of social distancing. Large bar area that you walk by to get to the back right area where you actually place your order. All in all I've never had any bad BBQ at a Moe's. They have the typical BBQ sandwiches to choose from as well as BBQ plates that come with one or two meat combos (there might even be a three meat combo - not positive on that though). Sandwiches come with one side and plates come with two. With choices like fries, potato salad, slaw, greens, mac and cheese, etc. I went with the Chicken Plate and had a side of potato salad and the corn bread. Meat comes with the traditional BBQ sauce and the chicken comes with their version of Alabama White. Corn bread is actually really good and has jalapeno in it. If you like BBQ do yourself a favor and stop by and check these guys out, they know how to do it right!

I have been to Moe's at other locations, but this was my first time here. I ordered at the drive thru window both times. The service was very friendly. My food was prepared promptly and it was delicious. I tried the ribs with white sauce during one visit and a pork sandwich combo during the second visit. The pork sandwich was prepared "Bama style", which included slaw, pickles, and white sauce. The combo included 2 sides. I chose potato salad and banana pudding. They were both tasty. On this particular day, they were out of mac and cheese.

The ole fashioned home-made fried Apple and Peach pies remind of my grandmother's, she used to make these fried pies for the "Real" Original Golden Rule in Irondale when it was across the street, from the current Irondale locations many years ago. The beans and coleslaw are also excellent. I think Archie's may have some of these vintage photos inside if my memory serves. I grew up with my grandad standing me on the kitchen table as a toddler while he made up the original Golden Rule BBQ Sauce in gaint pickle jars. The jars was bigger than I was. I still have this original Golden Rule sauce recipe that Archie's uses. They do an excellent job! Nothing has changed at this location but the name. Still the best BBQ in town. The complete package. The servers always do a great job, those that take and fetch to go orders from the parking lot are really efficient. The only constructive advice I would give is this owner, is to Keep Up The Work ! You order at the counter, which can be a little hectic for a first-timer. Luckily for me, I knew what I wanted and quickly found it on the big menu on the wall beside me. I later noticed that people were looking at handheld menus as you entered the restaurant. There was no one in front of me when I entered, so I didn't see those. The lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful in answering my questions. I ordered the pulled pork shoulder tray with two sides. If you have read my reviews, you know I only eat fries, so I doubled up the fries. You are given a number and can sit anywhere in their very big (for a BBQ joint) indoor dining area, or you can sit on a patio or outside. The walls are COVERED with pictures of old movie posters, country music stars, album covers, car tags, signs, and even a picture of the NWO (IYKYK). I didn't see the required Alabama BBQ joint picture of The Bear, Alabama football coach Paul Bryant, but with so many things on the wall, I'm sure it has to be there somewhere. There is a separate 'To-Go' spot for placing orders on the run. This also looked like a bar area as I saw advertising for alcohol. They also offer T-shirts and hats for sale if that is your thing. The menu consists of burgers, tacos, brisket, chicken, catfish, smoked chicken wings, BBQ nachos with just about any kind of side you can ask for, and pie for dessert. My order was brought to me in a timely manner. The BBQ is West Tennessee-style whole hog that Martin's cooks low and slow over hickory wood for up to 24 hours. The pulled pork is melt-in-your-mouth delicious, topped off with their special Jack's Creek BBQ sauce, on the table, which is a sweet vinegar and pepper-based sauce. I did see other sauces behind the counter, so I'm sure you just have to ask. The portions were just right for me. The fries are real cut potatoes that have been peeled. I doubled up, and that was enough to feed a family of four. Next time I will just ask for one side so as not to waste fries. The Jack's Creek sauce was great poured over my fries; it is water-based and not thick, and that is how I like my sauce. The sweet tea wasn't as sweet as some places, but I'm not complaining; it was good, and the day was hot. There seemed to be a lot of staff working. I guess it can be busy on Saturdays for lunch. I visited around 2:30 pm, and it was not crowded when I arrived but picked up as my time went on. The staff didn't have anything to say as several walked past me while doing random things. Not that it's a bad thing; I just always acknowledged customers with a "how ya doing?"--little things. The music was a mix of classic rock, soft 70s to hair metal, set at a decent volume. I don't mind being able to hear the radio, but maw maw and paw paw may complain that it was too loud. The parking lot may fill up with a big dinner crowd as there is a business next door that shares the parking lot. There is handicap parking available. Overall, Martin's offered a cool atmosphere for BBQ and a relaxing meal. They offer live music some nights (check their website), and it seems to be a great place for socializing in a casual setting. 5/5 -Kevin

I ordered a pulled pork shoulder sandwich and asked them to top it with coleslaw and had a side of mac & cheese and bought a second side, cornbread hoecake. Martha ordered the sliced brisket sandwich with a side of baked beans. I started with the mac & cheese. It was delicious with plenty of cheese and baked to perfection with a crispy cheese top. Really delicious. The cornbread hoecake was incredible it looks like and has the consistency of a pancake. You must order that when you go. Then I picked up the pulled pork shoulder sandwich and sunk my teeth in it. Oh, my! Pulled pork at its best. I added the Jack's Creek vinegar-based sauce to it, and wow, that added even more outstanding flavor to it. I've found my new favorite BBQ sauce. Martha thoroughly enjoyed her sliced brisket sandwich. We both had a bite of each others sandwiches and both were mouth-satisfying delicious. The brisket was perfect. The baked beans were very tasty, too. Everything was about as perfect as you can get at a BBQ joint. Pat Martin knows his BBQ, just as he displays on his show "Life of Fire." Before I could say anything, Martha said, "This is the best BBQ I've ever had. Let's come back for lunch tomorrow." She didn't have to twist my arm. We still like many other delicious BBQ restaurants in Birmingham, and will eat at them again, but Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint is our new favorite. In a city where BBQ is king, Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint sits atop the throne. We returned the next day for lunch. : Martha enjoyed the mouth watering and mouth satisfying Pulled Pork Sandwich topped with coleslaw and deliciously seasoned and crisp homemade chips. I threw down on a half slab of fall off the bone full flavored ribs. I got half of the ribs Memphis dry rub and the other half wet (St. Louis style). They were amazing! My sides were broccoli salad (because I'm a health nut) and homemade fries. And, of course, the delicious cornbread hoecake. We can't wait to come back to B'ham again to try more delicious food here at Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint.

Took everything home and we had a FANTASTIC dinner. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, was good! It's crazy!! Party of 6 in our group and everyone loved it! Everyone had different favorites, but all agree everything was excellent. Going to have to hunt down that food truck again soon!

Wow! Wow! Wow! 2 Men and a Pig leave all of the classic, sit down, over-priced traditional BBQ…read morerestaurants in the dusty past. 2 Men and a Pig's new take on BBQ dining brings their wonderful BBQ dishes and classic sides to you through their food truck or with catering. Tonight, my family and I tried the 2 Men and a Pig's food truck. There wasn't a bite left! We ordered the BBQ Nachos with Pork and my hubs ordered the BBQ Pork plate with Mac and Cheese. These two plates easily fed us- 2 adults, 1 teenager, and 1 little girl. So, I get we got an excellent value for our money. Portion sizes are generous and the prices are excellent! We will be back!!!
