Bbq Bar-b-que Pork w/Corn On The Cob and Fried Green Tomatoes (3)

The time I had there with a mentor friend of mine was great. It is nice and calm inside and everything is cleaned nicely. The food was good as it had always been. The servers were not bad but there's no real wonderful vibe from them. Again though none of them are rude they just seem plain.

I ordered $260 worth of food for an office and they gave me a hard time about asking for 10 plates and utensils. They also threw everything in the bag together without separating out each order. The mac & cheese had been sitting and was room temperature not hot and I picked up when they said the order was ready. Most of all I will not be using this location due to the service.

Undercooked Southern Fried Catfish (2 Trimmings)

ONE STAR. Look at the pictures.. Catfish plate. I went between 6:30-7:00pm. First, the moment I cut the fish, yellow liquid came out of the fish. The crust slid right off!. I hate the gray slime line in some catfish. This was loaded with it. As the crust completely collapsed, I realized what happened. The fish was undercooked in the middle. The breading was raw underneath. My cornbread was cooked in 2022. It was fossilized. They tried to put butter on it. The texture was a dehydrated sponge. This is my WORST experience at Full Moon. I enjoy their chicken/ribs/cookies/pie. They're awesome. This was just terrible.

Chicken baker was delicious packed with plenty of chicken. The brisket was a little dry. Service was great. I always enjoy stopping in here for a quick lunch.

So disappointed in how tiny my ribs were. One bite and they were gone! Wow! I ordered 3 bone rib sandwich and a side of fries and spent $12. I had to eat some of the bread , which I never do , to feel semi full. The fries were decent... kinda cold. Don't get me wrong , the ribs were tasty but just not enough for the price.

Idk what's wrong with this location but it's the complete worse. The last 3 times I've been here there has been an issue. The last time they gave me a family side of dried and mushy baked beans. This time they decided to give me hard skinny dry ribs for $10. Definitely wasn't worth it, at this point I give up on this location because it's always mediocre and not worth the money. Highly disappointed.

This place has been here forever and will probably remain here for a long time to come. Big portions, good prices and quick friendly service can be expected. The also have a drive through which makes picking up your order a breeze. Everyone has a favorite bbq joint and that's a hot debate to try and step into, so I'll just say that the BBQ here is good and shouldn't disappoint. Not some dry stringy meat that relies on the sauce just to get by. The pork, and the brisket in my experience both come out juicy and delicious. I've never gotten a bad plate here. So if you're in the area and looking for BBQ don't think twice just go here and get what you need.

I was just passing through Birmingham and had to stop in and try the classic rib dinner at Full Moon BBQ, $13.95 w/ 2 sides (Mac & Cheese, Deviled Eggs) The classic ribs were the largest ribs I have ever eaten, I could only eat 1 out of 4. Nice smoke flavor and a flavorful BBQ sauce. Yum yum! You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. Unlimited fresh brewed ice tea. Xana, the manager, was extremely friendly and accommodating. It has been a long time since I was treated this well at a BBQ restaurant. You have to try the homemade carrot cake, it's out of this world. This may be the "BEST LITTLE PORK HOUSE" in Alabama.

I am giving Full Moon on Patton Creek four stars because it has consistently been my favorite BBQ place in Birmingham, but I almost gave them three because I have been a little disappointed lately. The problem is that their pork can be quite fatty. This hasn't been the case. My husband says it is the way they slice it, and I do order sliced rather than chopped, but it used to not be this way. Other than that, they are a great place. For example, even when there is a line, it goes quickly. They have a lot of people behind the counter so things are run well. Also if there is a problem, they will fix it. I have been amazed that with so many people going through this restaurant especially at lunchtime that it stays clean and that you don't have to worry about finding a clean table. Regarding the food, my husband and son swear by the ribs. I get the pork plate and love their cole slaw. Not a lot of restaurants in Birmingham make vinegar based cole slaw, and I'm not a mayonnaise fan, so thank you Full Moon! I also like their baked beans. Another thing I like about Full Moon is that they use a red sauce instead of a vinegar based sauce. Vinegar sauces are okay, but I prefer red. Also, their cookies are to die for; chocolate chip with half the cookie coated in chocolate. I will definitely be back, but I hope they will do something about their fatty pork!

Unfortunately Archie's not convenient for me, so I don't get to Archie's nearly enough. But I know where to go when it counts! The ole fashioned home-made fried Apple and Peach pies remind of my grandmother's, she used to make these fried pies for the "Real" Original Golden Rule in Irondale when it was across the street, from the current Irondale locations many years ago. The beans and coleslaw are also excellent. I think Archie's may have some of these vintage photos inside if my memory serves. I grew up with my grandad standing me on the kitchen table as a toddler while he made up the original Golden Rule BBQ Sauce in gaint pickle jars. The jars was bigger than I was. I still have this original Golden Rule sauce recipe that Archie's uses. They do an excellent job! Nothing has changed at this location but the name. Still the best BBQ in town. The complete package. The servers always do a great job, those that take and fetch to go orders from the parking lot are really efficient. The only constructive advice I would give is this owner, is to Keep Up The Work ! And get setup for delivery! So how some way! Somehow being able to pay online so pick ups can be made by others for delivery. Double your business!

Brussels sprouts. Tender and crunchy at the same time! I don't know what that sweet and tangy sauce is but it is delicious. Pork and greens. This is the quintessential dish. You must have it. Get a bite with all four components, grits, pork, greens, onion straw, and a little sauce. That's almost a perfect bite. Fried okra or squash. The fried okra (only when in season) is some of the best fried okra I've ever had. Tacos! A new item. The sauce is great (I stick with mild) and I love the brisket for my meat. Mac and cheese. Saw's BBQ in Hoover landed squarely in category two. Chaz was fantastic from the jump. Attentive without hovering, knew the menu cold, steered us in the right direction, and honestly should probably be given partial ownership based on effort alone. Every recommendation he made ended up being the best thing we ate. We started with the fried green tomatoes, and buddy... the breading fled that tomato like the crew abandoning the Titanic. One bite and the whole crispy shell just slid off like it had somewhere else to be. Underneath was a tomato wondering how things got this bad. Not a strong start. The pulled chicken showed up next and somehow managed to achieve the culinary equivalent of elevator music. It wasn't bad. It also wasn't anything. Just sitting there existing on the plate with absolutely zero personality. If beige were a flavor, this would be its flagship product. Then Chaz's recommendations started rolling in and suddenly the kitchen remembered they could cook. The fried pickles were outstanding. Crisp, golden, crunchy, salty in all the right ways. Exactly what you want fried pickles to be. The fried okra though? That was the star of the night. Whole okra pods instead of those sad little slime coins you usually get. Crispy, seasoned well, breading actually staying attached like it understood the assignment. I could've eaten a bucket of those and started negotiating take-home rights. The okra saved the evening. Finished with the banana pudding, which was light and airy and a nice way to wrap things up. I wanted a little more banana flavor punching through, but it still worked as dessert after the rollercoaster happening before it. So here's the deal: Chaz earned every dollar of that tip. Some of the sides absolutely delivered. Some of the main attractions felt like they were clocking in emotionally from home. Would I come back? Yeah, probably. But next time I'm skipping the identity crisis chicken and just ordering every fried thing Chaz points at like he's conducting a very delicious orchestra. An average experience overall.

My wife and I ate at Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint for the first time today, and we have found our new favorite BBQ joint. We enjoy watching Pat Martin's tv show, "Life of Fire," so we came with very high expectations. They surpassed them. When we stepped out of the car the smoke BBQ smell was amazing. I ordered a pulled pork shoulder sandwich and asked them to top it with coleslaw and had a side of mac & cheese and bought a second side, cornbread hoecake. Martha ordered the sliced brisket sandwich with a side of baked beans. I started with the mac & cheese. It was delicious with plenty of cheese and baked to perfection with a crispy cheese top. Really delicious. The cornbread hoecake was incredible it looks like and has the consistency of a pancake. You must order that when you go. Then I picked up the pulled pork shoulder sandwich and sunk my teeth in it. Oh, my! Pulled pork at its best. I added the Jack's Creek vinegar-based sauce to it, and wow, that added even more outstanding flavor to it. I've found my new favorite BBQ sauce. Martha thoroughly enjoyed her sliced brisket sandwich. We both had a bite of each others sandwiches and both were mouth-satisfying delicious. The brisket was perfect. The baked beans were very tasty, too. Everything was about as perfect as you can get at a BBQ joint. Pat Martin knows his BBQ, just as he displays on his show "Life of Fire." Before I could say anything, Martha said, "This is the best BBQ I've ever had. Let's come back for lunch tomorrow." She didn't have to twist my arm. We still like many other delicious BBQ restaurants in Birmingham, and will eat at them again, but Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint is our new favorite. In a city where BBQ is king, Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint sits atop the throne. We returned the next day for lunch. : Martha enjoyed the mouth watering and mouth satisfying Pulled Pork Sandwich topped with coleslaw and deliciously seasoned and crisp homemade chips. I threw down on a half slab of fall off the bone full flavored ribs. I got half of the ribs Memphis dry rub and the other half wet (St. Louis style). They were amazing! My sides were broccoli salad (because I'm a health nut) and homemade fries. And, of course, the delicious cornbread hoecake. We can't wait to come back to B'ham again to try more delicious food here at Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint.
