The bartender and I then got down to the long history of Marty's PM (formally in Five Points), the legal and jurisdictional control of lifetime bans, and general 'long time no see, how you been?' chit chat. The place is situated in a nearly empty strip mall, which gives it a slightly post-apocalyptic vibe. It was nevertheless pretty crowded. They seem to be serving the same healthcare professionals/biker crowd that used to populate the 5-points version back in the day. I didn't try the food, but it looked pretty good. The prior version had one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches to be found. My only knock on the place would be the lack of draft beers. I toughed it out drinking Jack and Cokes. It's a little out of the way for me, but I suspect I'll be back sooner rather than later.

I didn't have the best alcoholic drink when I was there but I'd like to try a coffee one day. It's an old house repurposed into a coffee shop/bar at night so the layout is exactly that. I don't frequent this part of town much but House Eleven makes me wander over there every now and then!

The ominous folding table and chairs in the parking lot with ashtrays is hilarious. Truly a liminal space if you open your mind to that. Inside is warm and decorated with memorabilia/paraphernalia of bar nights past. We did karaoke with Connie. We had the premie baby (vodka or gin, on ice, in a giant pickle jar). My friends and I played some pool, had some drinks and then decided to leave. Before leaving, my best friend and I decided to go to the ladies room. Upon discovering that all bathrooms save one were full, we elected to go into the single available bathroom together. I will at this point acknowledge that there was a sign on the bathroom door that said "one person at a time" that we did not see initially. After entering the bathroom, but after I had disrobed to the point necessary to use the bathroom, we heard someone BEATING on the door saying only one person allowed at a time. We explained through the door that one of us was in the process of using the bathroom, and that we would be out shortly. The banging on the door continued, and, when I stated that I was mostly naked (to use the bathroom) this person returned "I bet you are." Once we were finished using the bathroom, this person ( a man who was identified as one of the owners by a friend, but not confirmed as such by me) aggressively confronted us about the bathroom policy, sayin we would be kicked out. I told him I was about to leave anyway, and that we'd only decided to go into the bathroom together once the other bathrooms were deemed full, and that, further, it was more efficient to use the bathrooms in pairs, where one person used it, while another washed their hands. He was not receptive to this feedback and further pointed to the sign. Upon walking away, the women he was with even stated that I was "such a b*tch", to which he did nothing. If this was an owner, I am appalled at the treatment of a patron. Had this been handled differently, I would have gladly offered an explanation and apology. Further, if this owner allowed his guest/date to insult me loudly across the bar, it makes me wonder what else they allow. If this is someone not affiliated with the bar, which, based on the passion of the affront, I doubt, I encourage the bar to better police their patrons, as this encounter made me feel very unsafe. I won't be back.

While they do brew their own beer, all be it 2 of them, they mostly just have guest beers on tap. I ordered one of their beers, but they were out so i go the other one. I got the Hazy Plan, and it was actually pretty solid considering I was not expecting much. The place was pretty packed, so they are doing something right. It just wasn't my vibe and with only 2 beers of their own, it doesn't seem like a brewery.

They all kind of seem connected but you had to pay separately at each place. I had my buddy order me a Screen Test Pizza which is a garlic puree cream sauce as a base with smoked chicken, roasted tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese. I normally don't like white sauce pizzas, but I had to pee and just picked something since my buddy was paying. My little faux pas turned out to be a great decision. The pizza was great. The beer was decent; the Belgian triple was my favorite of the 2, with the double IPA being the other one. They didn't have a big selection and they didn't have flights.
