My first time visiting was not the best experience. They apparently had a big event on the day before I decided to visit. They were quite literally out of everything on the menu except for one or two things. It would have been easier if they had just written down what was available instead of saying what was not. The bartender was really nice and was patient with the questions we had regarding what was available. We were able to still purchase drinks, I had the Salty Watermelon Whiskey Margarita ($10). I would definitely recommend to anyone it wasn't too sweet and was the perfect pairing of flavors. The prices were fair for the drinks so I would definitely come back and hope to be able to try some of the food options. read more

Got there late so it was very quiet but I can see how this restaurant can get busy loud and lots of people having a good time. First time there and I really enjoyed it. I got the Pork and Greens, Coleslaw and Fried green tomatoes. It was all super yummy. I am a fan of vinegar so if you aren't you may not enjoy the food as much. The greens were vinegary along with the coleslaw and fried green tomatoes. I was in the area on a business trip and this meal was my favorite of all the places I went to. Looking forward to coming back someday. read more

This place is horrible. I ordered the thigh plate with 2 sides, slaw and onion rings. The onion rings were the only thing that was edible. Thighs were so burnt I couldn't chew them. Slaw was rancid and spoiled. Also ordered a pizza with pepperoni that had black stuff looked liked charcoal melted In the cheese which I was told was supposed to be there because of the way they cook it. I asked to speak to the mgr, and the girl said she was the mgr. And would tell the owner tomorrow about my complaints. Never again! I will drive to saws juke joint next time!!!!! Sad. read more

They have a lot of good options for lunch. Met a friend there and we both had a good experience. Their pulled pork was good and the sides were also tasty. I will return again when in the area. read more

This restaurant is located in the outlet malls and shares a space with Neighbor's Pies & Pints. The two restaurants are like a married couple, they share everything. They share the dining area. They share the full service bar, with its signature cocktails and seating. They also share a game room complete with video games, pool tables and dart boards. The dining area and bar have televisions place around that you can watch sports on. The dining area was pretty clean, they had someone constantly bussing tables as people left. Parking here is easy, but it is still a little walk. You can park in the mall's huge parking lot and walk over. I suggest parking on far end of the mall right next to the drive in theater area. That is the closest to the restaurant. The two restaurants also share an area called the Backyard. It is an awesome patio area, with picnic tables, corn hole boards, adirondack chairs, and a stage where they play live music. It is a very nice spot and if it was not so hot that day, I would have been out there in a heartbeat. The restaurant have a limited barbecue menu that consists mainly of chicken and pulled pork. There is no ribs or brisket. They do have burgers, sandwiches and salads though. You place your order at the counter located behind the bar. If you are eating on the patio or in the dining area, they will give you a number to take to your table and will bring your food out to you when it is ready. I ordered the pulled pork plate with a side of greens, deviled eggs and french fries. It did not take long for my food to get ready. By the time I got back from the bar ordering y drink, which was about 5 minutes, my food was on my table waiting on me. The food was luke warm at best, but was still pretty good. The plate came with two slices of bread, so I made a sandwich. The fries were awesome, and the eggs and pulled pork were packed with flavor. I highly recommend checking this place out. It has much later hours than the mall and is a fun place with good food. read more

Some friends and I came here to grab dinner and have a few drinks. You order drinks at the bar and then food orders are placed at the back counter. The bartender, Amanda was phenomenal! She was so very attentive and just flat out cool! It was a joy to interact with her. Drinks were spot on! Service was just great. The staff was really friendly and made us feel welcomed. Great experience! I ordered the pork plate with slaw and baked beans. So tasty!!! The pork was so flavorful. The sides were good as well. One of my friends complained that her collard greens were too salty but overall she enjoyed her smoked chicken plate. Another friend had fried green tomatoes and she ordered her babygirl a burger & fries. They too enjoyed their food. I really like this location. It's the perfect hangout for the warmer days ahead! read more

We love to come to Saw's/Neighbor's Pies/Backyard Bar! The environment is a fun chill vibe, perfect place for the kids to run around outside and play or inside at the arcade area. I love the live music nights. The drinks at the bar are excellent. I have never had a complaint about the food, always delicious! read more

My uncle was in town to visit and wanted BBQ because he said that is just not something that they do well in Kentucky where he lives. Saw's is my go to when someone is visiting and we decide on BBQ. We decided on this location because of proximity to to other plans for the day. Plus gave me an excuse to do some shopping at the Shops of Grand River. This location shares space with Neighbor's Pies & Pints at The Backyard and I had been before to try the pizza. They have ample indoor & outdoor seating but it can get quite crowded at times. On this occasion at lunchtime on a Saturday there was a good crowd but still a good choice of seating available. Fairly typical setup for fast casual type. You order at the counter and take a number to your chosen seating and the food is brought out to you. All of the staff we interacted with was very pleasant and helpful. Based on a previous experience at another location I knew I wanted to get The Colonel (Sweet Tea Fried Chicken with Pimento & Cheese and Tomato on a Bun). Once again it did not disappoint. This time it seemed messier to eat as a sandwich, so I resorted to a knife & fork after a couple of bites. My side of French Fries were excellent. Seasoned well, not too crisp and not soggy. Another thing I knew I wanted as soon as we decided on Saw's was Banana Pudding for dessert. Just like Grandma used to make and a great way to top off the meal. My wife chose my other go to from Saw's, the Smoked Chicken sandwich with white sauce and pickles. She liked it as well even though the chicken was a little on the dry side. I personally like to add a little of the red sauce along with the white when I get it. My uncle satisfied his BBQ craving with the Pulled Pork Plate with sides of Greens and Baked Beans. He really liked it but said the Greens had more a of a kick to it than he expected. My aunt chose the Smoked Chicken plate with Cheese Grits (I don't recall the other side). No complaints but she wasn't expecting the chicken to be pulled and thought it would still be on the bone. She was very complimentary of the grits. Another big plus for this location is if you have someone in your group that just isn't in the mood for BBQ, you can also order off the Neighbor's menu. In fact often the same line is used for both. read more

Terrible service is the only way I can describe this place. They tried to take my money by charging me twice, and upon confronting the staff about the issue, they tried to blame me. After waiting for over an HOUR AND A HALF, they still never gave me my money back. Half the seats were closed off, and the food took even longer to come. The hostess was anything but nice, and made me feel like a burden to the restaurant. WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. If you value your time or your money, stay away from this place. I can say that I went into this place with optimism, but left it being scammed. read more

Would give this place zero stars if I could. We waited 40 minutes for a chicken sandwich and pork and greens. Customers next to us sat down and got their food 5 minutes later. The manager didn't even care about how long we had to wait. He said it depended on how many orders they had. I sat there and watched 50 other orders go out before ours. The sweet tea chicken sandwich was bland and flavorless. It's like they forgot to season it before frying. This is the worst Saw's establishment I've ever been to. Save your money and go somewhere else. They don't care about their customers. read more

What a fun venue for the whole family! It's 2 restaurants in one, miniature golf for $5 per person, game room and mini brewery all in one huge place in the back of a huge, nice outlet mall with some great shopping bargains with nice brands near Leeds, a suburb of Birmingham. This is a perfect setup for hubby daycare while the wifey shops!!!. Fried green tomatoes with sauce were the bomb. We enjoyed a hot chicken pesto pie, enough for two of us. You can order from Saws BarBQ and Neighbors Pies at same cashier. Then your food is brought to you! The games and huge shaded patio looks really fun. If you have a challenge walking, this is located a good city block from the parking lot. Follow the gray brick road! Try this with a group when you have time to play golf. Looks so fun!!! read more

Not gonna lie, I was a bit disappointed with my first experience here. I'd heard such great things! Unfortunately, I just wasn't impressed. The cashier was pretty quick and helpful. But the food, it was just lacking overall. I ordered the patty melt with a side of bbq pork rinds and a sweet tea to drink. We all know everyone is different about their sweet tea, but this tea wasn't nearly sweet enough. I had to add sugar to mine just to make it enjoyable. And whoever was mixing the tea had an unwelcoming attitude... The patty melt had a stiff, dry toasted bread, but the meat was fresh and juicy along with the toppings. The pork rinds were just disappointing. They had the option for original or bbq and even though I chose bbq, I didn't taste it at all. I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here. Maybe I've heard great things about other locations, but this one - I won't be returning to willingly. 2/5 read more

Difficult place to find, it's at end of row in Outlet Mall. Nothing really special, had ice tea chicken sandwich with salad and potato salad for $23. Could have achieved the same result eating at fast food chain. Ambience or dinning area was kinda kool with onsite bar for alcoholic beverages. read more

If I could go back in time I would have starved. I had the patty melt and it might have been the worst patty melt I ever had. It was a mess. When the plate came out I just laughed how awful it looked. There's no way that should be served to anyone. The place is in the mall and it's not bad on the inside other than the 1 bathroom they have that had pee all over it. read more

I visited this place today! The Pizza was exceptional.Lexi in the Backyard was awesome the atmosphere was cool. But Paige at the bar was very rude, unprofessional and not personable. She was rude to my friend first I gave grace. Would not recommend if you dont look like Paige read more

This place has a great barbecue. The onion rings were also excellent and the dessert topped it off. A friend recommend Saw's. He said the Colonel was a must. It is a sandwich with sweet tea fried chicken, pimento cheese and white sauce. I got that with the collards. They were both very good. The. Chicken was tender and fried perfectly. Moist and delicious. The pimento cheese was good. I think it needed some spice but it was solid pimento cheese. The Greens were very good. Cooked perfectly, simple and delicious. They didn't get fancy with them but let them hold their own. We also got the smoked chicken thighs as an appetizer. They came with white sauce drizzled on them. They were delicious as well. My only complaint was that we needed more white sauce to dunk them in! The service was fast and friendly as well! Good Eats! read more

I think if you are in the area this is a decent choice, but it's not the best place to get Saws. The food is a bit worse (but still fine), the service is fine, and the appearance is about what you'd expect for a mall. It used to be the concession area for the drive in when it first opened if I remember right. read more

We had a fabulous dinner here! We got a few different things...The pork and greens, shrimp and grits, smoked thigh plate, chicken pesto pizza and the BBQ Salad with smoked chicken. I think the deviled eggs had a peculiar taste. Deviled eggs can be an infamous side in BBQ restaurants so I hold the side dish at a remarkable high standard. Maybe switch the ingredients that's used for the stuffing. One of the ingredients is overpowering causing it to be a flop. read more

This place is a must try, if you have never been! We moved to the area recently and we've been here 2 times within a week! The setup is easy, grab a menu at the door, walk over to the order counter and order, they'll give you a table number and you wait til they bring you the food. It's very chill and has a comfy atmosphere. Its located in the "Backyard" which has a pizza joint, bar, pool tables, arcade games and outdoor mini golf. The food was delicious and is super easy to accommodate our family of 5 with all the options available. So far, we've had wings, pulled pork, chicken, bbq fries and bbq pork loaded baked potato. Passing through town and came here to stretch our legs and for dinner. I've never had my kid spit out mac n cheese before so I gave it a taste. The cheese tastes rancid! No one brought us utensils no one checks on you to see if food is good - fine it's definitely not a restaurant but a venue. Do not eat here! Maybe other locations are good?? Also ordered the pulled pork plate and the side of fried pickles came ice cold. But again no one to tell. Gave a good portion but taste old and cold so not eating them. The chili cheese fries were only thing I ended up eating. Wish I could get my money back. read more

Skip the burger. $13 and change (w one side) and it was very small. It wasn't bad, just small, I would say the patty shrunk but the bun was little too. I had baked beans and they were terrible. They tasted like 1/2 van camps and 1/2 mustard. I am leaving here hungry and I couldn't eat them. Nice staff but very disappointed in food. read more

Great food! Good service and good ambiance. Very family friendly. Recommended for large groups also.

It's not really a bbq place it's a counter in a shopping center food hall. Good bbq places are not fancy looking and have wood fired smoking pits- no pit here. Got our standard order we get to compare bbq places- 2 lbs of pork and a mix of sauces. The bbq is good, 8 out of 10 and it's slow cooked somewhere. It's way expensive and they charge $4 per pound extra for sauce! And no bread provided. All in it was $50- the other local restaurants, with better bbq, free sauce and bread are $32. Pass on this- Rusty's in Leeds, Landmark in Margaret and Charlie's in Odenville are much better read more

I would like to agree with other reviewers and call this place "hot garbage", but the bbq was straight out of the refrigerator... I even asked the employee if it was supposed to be served cold, and they said no. So they proceeded to take the original sandwich away and bring another cold one. Didn't eat a single bite. When I asked for my money back, I was told I would have to wait on a manager's approval. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. read more
