I am not big on updating my reviews if I don't have to but this is needed. I went one day and a whole bunch of teenagers were working. The Coke machine was broken and didn't tell anyone just gave out flat cokes. When I had gotten home I found out that one of my BBQ sauce's they gave me had been fermented and all bubble it was so nasty. A couple weeks later I went back hoping to talk to the Owner but his never there in the afternoons, now it's all teenagers. I went away and order a meal in the drive through. As I am waiting the owner does come in but as quick as he came in he left. I end up seeing the had a mirror in the driver through, it looked into the kitchen. Behold there I saw one of the teenagers making my food with "NO" gloves and fingering and my food. When I said something they said the had run out of gloves. First off the owner had been there why didn't you call him have him bring in some much needed gloves. Secondly you could have used tongs and not your grubby fingers and Thirdly you could have at least been writing the date you made your sauce up in the smaller portions so you know when to through them out. Also not even offered a refund and I even asked if I could have the owner's number so I could call and speak with him and they wouldn't even give me that or when he would be in next! I am so tempted to call the health food department. Won't be going back! I work fast food for 6yrs + this totally breaks my heart to see these kind of things. Do better. read more

I'm really trying to hang in there on this place but it's tough. The service has become awful, (last time half of my $90 meal was missing) This was after convincing my family who has had enough of this place to give them another shot This wasn't a one time deal either. When I came back to retrieve the other half of my now cold order, an apology wasn't given, never is.. just given a stupid look like it's my fault.. It's almost like I'm troubling them.. MUST TRY BARBECUE. Traveling from out of town we were unfamiliar with the area, we looked on yelp for places to try and came across this diamond in the rough. Upon pulling into the parking lot you'd think maybe you're not at the right place or perhaps it's drive thru only but once you see the trophies in the window you know you're in the right spot. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We placed our order and our food was brought out in no time. I even have to say, before talking about the food, that the lemonade was outstanding and home made. I had an outstanding Arnold Palmer with it. Between the 4 of us we had the Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken, and Ribs; all of which were delicious. For sides, we had the baked beans, green beans, mac & cheese , and the soup of the day which was a brisket chili. I can't over emphasize how on point and delicious the sides and main dishes were. The barbecue sauce was also some of the best I've ever had! If you're looking for a crowded sports bar with big screen TVs and big crowds then this isn't the spot.. The food was amazing! The ribs I got were flavorful, tender, and smoky. They were served with a sweet barbecue sauce. The two sides with the ribs were mac and cheese and slaw. The mac and cheese was creamy and delicious!! The slaw was really good, it had a vinegar taste which is different than what I'm used to but good nonetheless. Potato salad was traditional southern style, a little sweet, but balanced well. Very particular folks in the house, so when they ask you where it came from it must be good. We were in the mood for some BBQ, but didn't want to travel far in the rain one evening. So we checked yelled, and read the reviews, and decided to stop by and try them out. Thanks fully they have a drive-thru, so we didn't have to get out in the rain, so unfortunately I can't comment on interior of restaurant. We decided on an order of wings and fries, the brisket Mac and cheese, and a pulled pork sandwich. We needed up sharing everything, so we got to sample each other's meals. The cashier asked us which sauce we wanted for the wings, and we said whatever she recommended since we were newbies...so she put both their red and white sauce in the bag. The wings were ok... not my favorite, but good. My husband's brisket Mac and cheese was.. meh... the brisket was good; the macaroni was generic and lacking flavor. The pulled pork sandwich was also decent... but nothing to write home about. Maybe our experience would be different if we dined in. This is a whole in the wall place that most just drive right on by without ever stopping. We were craving some BBQ and the next nearest place was on the other side of Trussville, so we finally decided to give it a try. It was raining, so we decided to go through the drive through. While the food was fresh, they definitely took their time to get us our food. It was 10-15 minutes sitting in the car waiting. They apparently had some no shows that night due to the weather. The staff that were there were very friendly. We had some smoked wings that were very reminiscent of Moe's smoked wings. They came with red and white BBQ sauces. Next up was some brisket mac and cheese (very tasty, though I wish the brisket was cut up more) - it spoke to me, and had to be ordered. Finally, we got a pork sandwich as well to try it out. Overall, the meal was pretty good. I will come here again, though I might call my order in next time to speed it up some. read more

Terrible!!!I will never eat there again. There was horseradish in everything. I make my own white sauce and have eaten it at many places.... It was in the coleslaw and white sauce. Barbecue Stop is a bit of a hole in the wall but what more could you ask for in a BBQ joint. The menu had all the usual suspects. I ordered the pulled pork with coleslaw and beans. My work colleague had the beef brisket. Both were perfect and standard. Both benefited from the appropriate BBQ sauce (Carolina for the pork). We ordered meal specials. Barbeque Stop also offers a variety of family size menu items for eat-in or take-out. I received super friendly service from the young woman behind the counter. HOLY COW! We ordered catering for my son's b-day party and LOVED everything we ordered. The brisket melts in your mouth and the pulled pork has an amazing smokey (but not too smokey) flavor! I'm a huge potato salad fan and their potato salad was *chefs kiss*. Their portions were great and fed a crowd, plus we ended up with plenty of leftovers! BBQ stop used to be the best ribs that I tasted. I would brag to friends. The chicken and sides not so much. However, after having them recently, I can not agree. The ribs were very fatty and didn't fall off of the bone as I was accustomed to. Not sure if there is new ownership or the chef left but it's a no go now. read more

This is one of those hidden gems restaurant that I would have never known about until my coworker recommend that I try this place out. I believe they were also voted best bbq in Alabama which made me want to come here even more. The outside of the restaurant isn't big and I can't say what the inside is like since I used the drive thru. The ordering process was simple since I wanted ribs which consists of baked beans, potato salad and I also order some banana pudding. The employee at the drive thru was very polite and I told her that it was my first time eating here and that I would like every bbq sauce they have in stock. Even though it was a wait to receive my food, it was worth it. The ribs had a good smoky taste, well seasoning and best part is that they falls off the bone. First take-out order - $65 order - half of the food was not included when they handed the bags to us, at our car. Lesson learned, check the order in the car. We went back last night, trying again. This time we did receive everything we ordered, and yes, we checked the contents in the car. Ribs were great. Pulled pork and brisket were dried out and flavorless. The $10 quart of baked beans was loved by everyone on our first order. But on the 2nd order, the beans were so spicy, no one could eat them. They had the flavor of their spiciest BBQ sauce. I phoned today, to ask if the beans were normally mild, or very spicy. The young woman was belligerent that we were very wrong - that the beans had never ever been spicy. What in thex world. As good as their ribs are, it just is not worth thos kind of hassle, after now spending more than $110. read more
