If you ain't ate at Charlie's Barbecue... are you really a cowboy? I rolled in hungry enough to rope a tornado and walked out feelin' like I just survived a holy experience in smoked meat. I ordered the three-plate feast -- ribs, chicken, and pork -- and every bite was straight-up legendary. The ribs? Fall-off-the-bone tender with that perfect smoky bark that makes a cowboy close his eyes and thank the heavens. The chicken? Juicy, smoky, cooked so right it oughta have its own fan club. The pork? Melted like warm butter on a biscuit -- pure magic. And that coleslaw? To. Die. For. Cold, crisp, tangy perfection -- the kind of slaw that makes you lean back, grin, and nod slow. But the chili... good grief. That chili was out of this world -- like they simmered it over campfire coals blessed by a thousand trail riders before me. Charlie's Barbecue ain't just a meal -- it's a dusty-boot, hat-tip, full-throttle cowboy experience. If you ain't ate here yet, Cowboy... go fix that. read more

Charlie's Barbeque - Barbeque Near Me - Odenville, Alabama

This is our favorite Bbq in the area. They are a small shop at the corner of Odenville but do a great job on Good Food!

Good barbecue and decent sides. I would prefer if they had more vegetable sides that are not fried as options.

Normally their loaded baked potatoes are full of meat and much larger. This one had only two bites of meat on the potato. Today I ordered two loaded baked potatoes and two medium bruinswick stews, paid over 32 dollars. The food was good, just the portion was heavily cut back giving you a third but charging you the same price. The stew is mostly liquid. I always looked forward to going here when I visited family. I doubt I will be back anytime soon. read more

Charlie's Barbeque - Loaded pork/ Chicken Tater - Barbeque Near Me - Odenville, Alabama

Great food, this is the go to BBQ place! It is a little bit of a drive for me, but it is well worth it.

Haven't had a bad thing here! The chicken tenders are amazing. Great food and great service!

Stopped in today with 22 people. The service was SO fast! And the food was delicious. Everyone in our group was very pleased. The outside seating was perfect and they delivered everyone's food to our tables. Thanks Charlie's barbecue!! read more

We have driven by here dozens of times, always wanted to try it, so tonight was The day! Mom & Pop restaurant as nothing fancy, appears they are efficient from placing order to them delivering your food. We ordered 3 piece meat dinner, shared in restaurant and ordered our adult kids ribs, wings & chicken tenders to go with corn nuggets & fries. Ribs, pulled pork & chicken All delicious! Was very surprised! Sauce was tasty & was a Big fan of the "tater-salad!" Excellent BBQ! We will be back & try the burgers as the looked delicious too! Highly recommend Charlie's BBQ!!! read more

The Food here is always great! The sweet tea hasn't been the best but I'll keep trying it hoping it'll taste better the next time. Service is fast every time I've called in a pick up order. read more

top notch bbq! i've been to many places and this place does it right EVERY TIME! what a great spot to have in this town

Voted Best Dive Barbecue in Alabama. Their ribs and pulled pork are delicious, as are their sides, but the brisket (only available on Wednesday and Saturday) is to die for. Tender and juicy, and their selection of sauces are homemade and perfectly spiced. There is an excellent banana pudding (monkey in a cup) and a daily cobbler, with or without ice cream. They also do burgers, fried shrimp, and baked potatoes. Highly recommend. read more

The staff is so friendly and the food is great! I would call ahead if doing a to go order since it takes a bit longer.

Great food & service!! Love sitting on the stye it has two TVs, fans for summer & heater for the cold weather!!

Great food in a basic gas station restaurant. Very clean. Nice employees. I recommend.

So an Indian guy walks into a Piggly Wiggly ... I am guessing no one expected anyone, let alone a tattooed Indian guy to be in Odenville, but I was in town for the annual St. Clair Scramble and needed to eat up. In retrospect, I ate too much, especially before an exhausting mud race, but damn the food was good at Charlie's! I had the smoked chicken and I loved the variety of sauces to experiment with on the meat. This is a non-pretentious, quality BBQ restaurant with a covered deck, attached to a gas station ... this place screams a visit by Guy Fieri. read more

Charlie's BBQ has become one of my favorite BBQ places that is within 20 miles of my house. But today, I went with the Southwestern Saints burger, which they only serve on Thursdays. The burger is a 9oz. fresh made patty that is cooked well-done and marinated. It comes on a kaiser roll with cheese, grilled onions, peppers, bacon, and Cujo Hot BBQ sauce. I've never had a burger like it. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it came well-done. I like my burgers medium and medium-well. It wasn't burnt by any stretch. I asked the cashier if it came only well-done and she said that they were already prepared to help them get food out faster. You can get the burger as a combo with a side and drink and it was a total of $10.79 with tax included. It's highway robbery with how good this burger is. read more

Good food. Fast service. Large menu. Ribs are so good. We definitely eat here alot as locals.

I've eaten here many times, sometimes the food was not as good as others, but I'm all about knowing things are not always perfect every time. so I always give them another try. , but if you do have a problem they will not fix the problem. very rude! I don't recommend the burgers they look like a burnt sausage biscuit! The meat is over cooked and looks like they are pre-made burgers you buy frozen in a bag. I've never seen such a small burger and over cooked one . if you want real BBQ and the best burgers, I would recommend going down the road just about 5 miles and get Bowling's BBQ, they have the best burgers and Bbq you will ever put in your mouth. perfect service and always so friendly. They are located a little past Odenville High school . I'm never dissatisfied with their food or service. read more

We ordered carry out. The Brisket Bucket was very good and tender. Down Home service.

Sauce is not very good. The barbecue itself isn't very bad but do you need a good sauce. People are friendly. Just need to get some better barbecue sauce. read more

What can I say about Charlie's... It is Yummy!!!! I love the outside meat. We get a pound when we go and it's good eatingj for two days!

First time visiting and the food was good! Can't wait to try them again. The service was also really fast

Use to be such a good restaurant. Has definitely gone downhill. They give you less food and charge you extra if you don't pay cash. And won't tell you. read more

Good food! Small place big on taste! We moved here over a year ago and enjoy trying all the new places. This tiny little bbq place has some good food, we've had the pork and ribs and very pleased. I've heard I need to try the chicken tenders. Definitely one of our top go to places for a night when you don't want to cook. read more

Awesome saints burger for cheap and the corn on the cob was buttery and delicious! Don't let the attached gas station mislead you, good find! read more

I love their BBQ sandwiches. Lots of meat. Wife loves their nacho s /chicken. Chicken fingers fingers 3 pc is big enough for me and wife for supper read more

food is good as long as you dont have to come back to get the order corrected. real bad about forgetting wing sauces For your order.

Drove 60 miles round trip to try this place out. Heard it was the best brisket this side of Texas. Got the brisket plate. With 6 onions rings and 6 corn fritters. The brisket slice was about 4 inches in length and maybe a quarter inch thick. I had high expectations going into this place and was disappointed in the portions for the cost. I won't go back. Recommend going to R&R BBQ across the street. read more

If I could give a -5 stars I would. I had a 25 dollar order, I tipped 20$. Hoping to make good with the staff knowing I'd take care of em every time when I order. My beans and bbq sauce got over cooked, so much it started leaking. So I turned around and ordered another side and sauce. Of course they said they made it right. Until I got home, not knowing with it being completely dark outside, my bag busted, leaked everywhere. In my girls car, on me, everywhere, Like everywhere. I have damage to my car and high $ clothing and Scott Holmes decided not to contact me back after complaints with pictures and after my email s with complaints. I literally am in shock at how poor their responses have been. I Wouldn't eat a drop of what was left. I didn't trust it. How could anyone be so unprofessional. I'll be reporting them to the BBB. Pathetically questioning a customer who actually takes care of Scott Holmes ' employees. Like literally he lost a customer who tips well in any restaurant. Stupid breeds stupid. In the emails he questioned me how this happened. Bro! It happened because the food was too hot for containers you imbecile. How in the world can you be in business. I'm new to Odenville, and drawing sick of it with idiots like this. everyone has been great, but this place. I can't believe it. The owner stopped responding after multiple emails of evidence. Unreal how they even have a business read more

Charlie's is clean with very good food located at the corner of US Hwy 411 and Al Hwy 174. The owner Scott has many years of pleasing the local folks, makes great burgers, BBQ and other delights. A perfect family place no smoking or drunks. Thanks Charlie ! read more

The BBQ sause and macaroni was not good. I love the atmosphere but had some strings up, if you know what I mean.

Ate here today for the first time. I ordered the BBQ pork sandwich and onion rings. The food was delicious. I gave it four stars because they wrapped my sandwich for a dine in order and it fell apart because the bun got soggy and because they have off-brand ketchup. I am not a fan of anything but Heinz. Other than that, I am a fan of Charlie's. It was very good. read more

Odenville is a very small town. However there are a number of restaurants in the area. This one was very clean and the service staff was friendly. I had the two meat combo with a side salad and macaroni and cheese. The meant and salad were good. The macaroni was less than average. Overall this was a good restaurant and I would go again. read more

I have the luxury of being married to a griller and BBQ competitor, so most of the time bbq restaurants don't impress me. After being told Charlie's was average, I didn't expect much from this one either, but I was impressed. The Memphis Special was yummy, moist and full of flavor, the smoked chicken had a good smoke without being overly smokey, and the sauces had good flavor. Thanks for the good food we can enjoy when we don't feel like grilling. read more

We got a family pack with ribs for $30 and it was so good! We were stuffed! The best part was the different barbque sauces. My child loved the Mac and cheese! Very good! read more

We had the ribs, chicken, pork and wings. The chicken and pork were pulled off the bone and cut up. The only complaint I had was that the chicken was a little dry. Everything else was excellent. For the sides we had Mac n cheese, fried okra, mashed potatoes and beans. The mac n cheese was also a little dry but it was towards the end of the night. Would definitely come here again. Great little hole in the wall. read more

I give this place 5 stars on their BBQ ribs. I have eaten there 3 times, ordered ribs every time. The ribs are consistently very good. That means a lot coming from a KCBS BBQ judge. These ribs are competition quality. I judge ribs a lot worse than these. The salads are great, large portion. I am giving Charlie's five stars on the ribs, however the sides they offer, do have room for improvement. Have not found any sides I like as much as the ribs. Will let you know if I do. Ate at Charlie's tonight......not sure what the problem was, but the ribs were tough, small and not cut properly. The creamed potatoes were like leftover baked potatoes that have been creamed. The onion rings were greasy. Hope it is better next time. Either they rushed the ribs and did not cook them long enough, or they have a new cook. I will try one more time and let you know the results. Anyone can have a ad day. read more

Charlie's is awesome. Amazing brisket and wings! The chicken tenders are the best I've ever had. Don't miss a chance to try it out.

We love Charlie's BBQ in Odenville Al. We have eaten there numerous times and never had a problem. The ribs are great! The BBQ pork sandwich is outstanding. The hand formed double cheeseburgers, onion rings and corn nuggets ate cheaply priced and yummy. We love Charlie's BBQ and you will also. read more

Best brisket in Alabama and by far the best BBQ on 411. The Saint Burgers (Thursday only, get there early) are some of the best I've had anywhere. I've never had a bad meal and the staff is always helpful and friendly. I wish they would put in a second location closer to I20. read more
