1/4 chicken, slaw and potato salad

Our 2nd visit here.....5 stars from me....4 stars from companion. My Big Beef (brisket) Baked Potato was awesome. Gigantic 'tater loaded with beef, sour cream, green onions (scallions) cheddar cheese, butter....heaven only knows what heavenly stuff was in it.... Companion's 1/4 chicken was flavorful but tough. slaw and potato salad both just so-so. Quick service, and great prices.

The Greek salad with chicken and Greek dressing was delicious. The toppings included olives, diced cucumbers, diced tomatoes, and feta cheese. The loaded Baked potato will be for my dinner tonight. The Sweet Tea was on point with my meal. The drive thru service was fast and the cashier was nice. The drive thru line was not slow particularly between the hours of 11am to noon. The Ambiance of this location is always positive and joyful.

This location is pretty solid. The times I'm come here have been without issues. My last visit was a few months ago to grab some takeout. The ribs are always a hit and are my fav!!! The service is straight forward and friendly. I've never dined in but it's roomy and TVs all around to catch your fav team in action! I'm not a fan of their parking lot but everything else is cool.

We just love the ease of ordering & variety of the choices at Full Moon BBQ ... we've stopped at other Full Moon spots & glad to find this one after traveling all day & it was close to the hotel. The service was quick & oh so friendly ... the tables were all cleaned & it's a cheery place - there's lots of variety for a chain & the food seems to be quite consistent from place to place (yummy & tasty). We love that we can order what we want ... go have a seat & they deliver the food to our table. The kids working here were friendly, laughing & all smiling - it was a joy to visit! We will stop again!

Oh Yelp! We love Full Moon. Tonight is date night, Bae wants this pork. He hit the riblets with baked beans and onion rings. He pleased! I got that delicious catfish and collard greens with a baked potato! This stuff here good. I love this fish! Y'all already know, when I'm made happy, I'll be back!

I did not have this but it was like a men's size 10 shoe size. Huge. Had to take a pic and I bet it was amazing.

Pretty cool little spot. Friendly stag and quick service. The food was not too bad. I would rate this more of a fat food BBQ. It has been said to be a top 10 BBQ spot in the U.S. I'm not sure I'd go that far. But overall decent. A little pricey. Meat was a bit dry for me. If you have ever had really dry turkey, this is how the ribs and chicken were. Baked beans were great and and the slaw was a sweet vinaigrette and really good.

This is an order at counter and they bring to table restaurant. Quite an extensive menu. One of us ordered pork & Brisket, the other pork & Ribs. Everything comes out dry and you add sauce. None of the meats had/or tasted like they had any seasoning on them. Ribs huge, fairly tasty and tender, not fall off bone tender. Brisket lean and no flavor. Pork chopped so small it looked like scraps off floor. Pork did come with a grilled bun so you could make a sandwich. A few sauces white/traditional to choose from. Baked beans were very tasty. Coleslaw sweet and tangy. Mashed potatoes were mediocre. Overall their was a ton of food, but I felt quantity won over quality. Would not go back, to many other Barbecue places to try. Staff was courteous

Pricey for "fast food" style bbq but good quality and nice selection of sauces. I prefer to eat inside. Timely service, decently clean.

This is probably one of the best restaurants and all of Birmingham and that is saying a lot. We, of course, got the Angel biscuits with that delicious butter. Those are always outstanding! One person got the chicken thighs and another got the burger that came with delicious chips and we got the peas for an extra side. The atmosphere is such a cool charming upscale SOUTHERN restaurant Five. My guest thoroughly enjoyed it and I bet they can't wait to go back just like me. My server had excellent answers to every question. I asked him and several people came to our table throughout the meal to make sure everything was going well when my server was busy. This is one of the best dining experiences you can have in Birmingham whether it be a nice lunch or a celebration of the most special occasions, this is one of the best places to be for it.

The interior was refreshingly classic but current, making good use of an elongated and narrow space. The partially open kitchen increases interest, but I was sitting with my back to it, which spared my lunch companion from competing for my attention. Our server Krynn was perfectly kind, prompt, and pleasing, genuinely welcoming to us and knowledgeable of the dishes. She was so very sweet and one of the best servers I have encountered in Alabama. The food was very thoughtfully prepared. We ordered Tuesday's lunch special, the fried green tomato BLT. We were impressed that the bacon is cured on site and cut the same day it is fried and served. The sandwich was so large that we easily split it. The tomatoes were good. I prefer lettuce in leaves, not shreds, but it didn't detract much from the experience and it didn't fall out everywhere. The sandwich came with chips which seemed homemade and were very good, not soggy. I added salt which was brought in a little wooden pinch bowl. For a side we split a plate of marinated summer peas and beans. This was baby lima beans and black eyed peas, with a very small amount of finely diced red onion and red bell pepper. There was a copious amount of cilantro that was not finely chopped and dominated certain mouthfuls. I would adjust this recipe by using a few more pinches of red onions and bell peppers, and finely chopping the cilantro and using less of it. It was very flavorful! I thought my SIL might still be hungry so we got a cheesecake slice at the end. It presented beautifully and was covered in a blueberry syrup. The texture was a bit ragged but it isn't any worse than one I'd make at home. I also felt the lemon flavor was a bit overly strong, and the crust appeared to be cornmeal based and wasn't my favorite, but that's just my preference. I feel that smokers or people with few taste buds would still be able to taste the food at Helen! I also ordered a cup of black regular coffee and it was truly delightful, no adjustments to that flavor needed in my opinion! We were attended by a couple other servers and everyone was polite and sweet. I felt very relaxed and as if I were valued as a customer. I hope Krynn has many sweet customers who appreciate how nice she is! I hope to be back someday and would definitely recommend Helen restaurant.

When I drove by at 10am on a weekday and saw a line of at least 7 cars snaking through their drive-thru, I knew this place had to be worth a look! The Pit has been at this location for about 38 years! There's no seating inside, but you can enter and place and pickup orders. If you call in an order, you must come inside and cannot pick it up through the drive-thru. Their menu is nailed to the wall where you speak into a speaker to place your order. Then you drive around to the pickup/pay window. There's always 2 lines for prices. Cash and Card. So there's a discount if you pay with cash. They are only open for breakfast and lunch until 2pm. The have a standard breakfast which includes plates and omelettes cooked with every combination of egg, cheese, sausage, bologna, sausage or ham. Their lunch menu includes sandwiches and plates. They have two desserts: pecan pie and fried apple pie. Sides are crinkle fries, slaw and baked beans. So not an extensive menu, but comprehensive. Honestly I had wanted to try a breakfast item, but it was past 10am so I opted for the two meat combo of smoked sausage and bbq pork with slaw and baked beans. I also two toasted and buttered sides of a hamburger bun. I got 2 links of sausage with the link being about 4 inches long. Each link was sliced right down the middle so it looked like I had 4 pieces of sausage. The sausage were delicious. When they say their bbq pork is shredded, they mean it. I really liked how all the pork is shredded and there's no random large chunks. That's just me. Others probably prefer chunks. The shredded pork was tender, but the kicker is of course the sauce. I'm not a bbq connoisseur, but I liked their sauce. It was thick, dark, had a wonderful smoky, sweet and tart! Yom Yom Yom Yom. The baked beans was on point and I can easily tell their slaw was made that yesterday if not that morning. They make a mayo based slaw which I prefer and it was outstanding! Chilled just right! Yom Yom Yom Yom. The 2 toasted sides of hamburger buns were kinda corny but acceptable. I would've preferred 2 regular slices of white bread. The Pit is a typical hole in the wall that knows how to serve good ole southern comfort food. In 38 years they have figured out what works for them and their fans (who probably eat there at least once a week) and they stick to it. I may find myself going back to this corner of downtown to go through their drive-thru sooner than I think.

I'm unsure what the current cost is for the deck, but it's worth knowing if you're visiting during a busier time. I ordered the fish tacos with black beans and chose the cheese grits as my second side. Everything tasted fresh and had lots of flavor. The real star of the meal, though, was the sweet potato cake. It was incredibly moist and delicious. Honestly, I could've eaten four of them without shame or hesitation. My colleagues ordered burgers and fries. They both really enjoyed their burgers, but neither cared much for the fries. They had also requested a couple additional items after the food arrived, but those items never made it to the table. The decor is bright and fun, though it didn't quite seem to match the style of food being served. Just my personal observation. They also have a robot that helps deliver the food alongside the servers, which felt a little unexpected for the casual atmosphere and southern comfort food vibe. They were fairly busy since it was lunchtime on a Friday, but the wait really wasn't bad at all. Would I go back? Yes. Was it my absolute favorite? No. But there were definitely things I enjoyed, especially that sweet potato cake that nearly made me consider ordering dessert first next time.
