Thought this would be one of these diamonds in the rough but it is just a joke in the wall! The building is old and Nasty! The food in the line was dry and obviously had been sitting a while. One of us got the fried flounder and it took 30 minutes to cook and then tasted like it was loaded with lead and mercury or something. It was very chemical in flavor. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Go to Arby's or something. read more

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place on Yelp. The food is amazing! The servers are extremely friendly too. I absolutely loved the chicken and dressing. The portion sizes are huge. I also had butter beans & turnip greens as my sides. This is definitely a good spot for some comfort food for your soul. Don't skip the sweet tea because it is excellent as well! First off, your staff is friendly as ever and it's close to time to shut it down after the Sunday rush. Wendy and Stephanie is holding it down. They working like y'all just opened up. Thanks ladies! Now on to this food, cause this is why we here. I got my God Sister with me today. She is a picky foodie cook, but could hardly make her mind up here. She got chicken and dressing, hamburger steak, Mac and cheese and green beans. This gull hungry and trying to get everything. (She's a newbie) . We arrived for Sunday lunch well after 1pm and I expected to find them sold out of some of the day's food items. Everything seemed to be in good supply. They are very busy for Sunday lunch and the waitstaff is constantly moving which may result in a delay for refills and other requests but they were all friendly. Diners have the option of ordering from the menu or going through a cafeteria line and choosing a meat and 2 (or 3 for an extra cost) plus dessert and bread. Went there to have lunch with some ex-coworkers and enjoyed the fellowship. The place was not hard to find. It's setup up like a cafeteria. You come in and go through the line and pick your servings. They had broiled fish, lasagna, fried chicken breasts and some other meats. They also had sides. I got fish, salad, turnip greens and peach cobbler. The price was impressive. I went to the White House this afternoon with my girlfriend. The service was quick, and the staff was friendly. The restaurant is also relatively clean, so I found nothing wrong in that department. At around 11 a.m. this morning, the place was not too busy, so it was a nice place to talk. The place has the feeling of any restaurant in the South that has been stuck in a time bubble, as it has not changed much over my visits to his place. I had the baked Tilapia with field peas and creamed potatoes, while my girlfriend had the country-fried steak, field peas, and mac and cheese. Saturday night is for The White house seafood. We'll it use to be. Tonight, something has changed. Very sub-par food. The Shirmp dinner use to have 12 jumbo fresh shrimp, big bake potato and huspuppies and salad. Tonight I was given 12 small to medium shirmp that were not fresh. Last two times we have been to White House the food had taken an obvious dip. Pork chop was tough as shoe leather. Tasted as if it had been warmed over a couple times. Fried chicken was not much better. Green beans had been in steamer so long they had turned to mush. This little gem is a country go-to. They generally sell Southern country cooking... meat and 2, cafeteria style. But on Saturday evenings, they have a seafood specials for AMAZING prices. I got a crab leg plate, 1lb of steamed crab legs and two sides for $17.99. The food was delicious and the prices are even better. I often go here on Sundays too for their chicken and cornbread dressing... so good! They offer different options each day. You can check out their Facebook page or call to hear daily menu. I came here on Monday night with my friend Julia for dinner. It's like a cafeteria meat & three. I like that you are able to see the food before choosing what you want. There's been many a times where something sounds good on the menu then looks nothing like I had imagined. None of the meats for Monday's menu were really floating my boat so I chose three sides only. I chose turnip greens, broccoli and cheddar, and green beans. They were all pretty good, and I had enough turnip greens and green beans to take leftovers home. Always convenient to have leftovers! The only thing I didn't like was the cornbread that came with my meal. I think it may have been stale. The do have other bread options like jalapeno cornbread and dinner rolls, so I will opt for those in the future. All the workers were super nice. This place is pretty decently priced too so I'm sure I'll be back here. I saw a lot of good menu options, it makes me want to come here on specific days to try their casseroles. We were in the area and decided to try this place out. It's a little hard to find because it is in a pretty residential area. They have a few nightly specials. They also have a meat and three style cafeteria line. It's really affordable as well. The side salads were a little eh. It was a typical bag of salad experience. On top of mediocre food, the owners make sure you know they're members of the MAGA mob, as evidenced by their "wall of Presidents."
