Pleasantly surprised by this little gem near our home we desperately wanted Chinese and didn't want to travel too far & happened upon this spot kinda small with fast friendly service seemed to have a family oriented ambiance we ordered to go my husband tried the Mongolian beef that was raved about and he enjoyed it great flavor however there's no crisp on the beef so I don't think they pan sear the beef so I wasn't too keen on the texture but the taste was good I got a order of fried chicken wings which were fried and seasoned to perfection I also got a order of house fried rice big portions and great flavors overall visit was 7/10 they also have a lunch buffet Mon-Sun we will definitely come back to try sorry no pics read more

The service was great. They greeted us as we walked in, gave us menus and took our drink order right away. The crab ragoons were loaded with cream cheese compared to the usual amount. The egg rolls were just okay. We ordered the kung po chicken, mixed vegetables with steamed rice and Mongolian beef. The portion size was more than expected. The food itself was delicious. We were very pleased and satisfied. The place was very clean and comfortable. Overall, it was a very affordable and great experience. We'll definitely eat there again. read more

This was my first time at Mings and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. I normally don't leave reviews but they have to do better. Sesame chicken & General Tso chicken were floating in grease/oil and was not good at all. Spending $60+ on 3 to go meals and to get this quality of food is not good. Had a carry out today Feb 2- 26 Mongolian beef and sweet and sour chicken with a few extras. The chicken was fried to the point that it was like eating a handful of marbles. My dog had a hard time biting through it. Rest of food was tasteless and processed tasting. Used to love the food here but now a frozen tv dinner tastes a whole lot better. Got takeout for three! All three meals were pretty bad. Usually we enjoy this restaurant but they must have a new cook or lower grade of products . Rice had no flavor,sesame chicken was like chewing a wad of rubber bands! Mongolian beef was tender but too sweet. Vegetables in lo-mien were mushy and it was also too sweet! Mings is great on Sunday after Church. My wife and I enjoy the variety of the buffet. You can get crispy things like egg rolls and crab wontons. The hot and sour soup is fantastic on its own. And you can get garlic chicken and beef and broccoli. Those are our faves. There is so much more. And if you ask for hot mustard, get the "table hot mustard" . It's better than the packets. The price is reasonable and the food is tasty. Give Ming's a try if you haven't already. You'll be glad you did! read more

The food here is the most absolutely disgusting , watered down , stomach turning scam I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I wouldn't recommend bringing your kids here but if you do, you're in luck because the gardendale hospital is only 5 minutes away. I hope the nice people that run business take pride in the food, if so they need to take culturally classes. Because what kind a CHOW MEIN doesn't have NOODLES. Ming's used to be our go-to years ago for "Chinese" food. On this visit they were takeout only and the food was very generic tasting. Well, I should say tasteless. It just wasn't good at all. After a tooth extraction the first thing I wanted was their Hot and Sour soup (seafood included) and an egg roll. That's the best thing on the menu besides their fried rice and crab won tons. For all the naysayers, this is not gourmet. It's in a shopping center. Perhaps asking what is a popular menu item is a place to start when ordering from a restaurant. A long time favorite. They are very accommodating. I always order shrimp and veggies in a Mongolian sauce. This is a special order. Their crab Rangoon is wonderful. I enjoy most of their food. The buffet is okay, I always ask for some Mongolian sauce to use. I like all their appetizers, and their soups. This is the best place for Chinese in North Jefferson. Ming's is a family owned business and has been an institution in the Gardendale community for as long as I can remember. Other Chinese places come and go but Ming's remains and is a staple. Try their spare ribs. They are so tender, flavorful and meaty, very unexpected but a must try. Also try their Mongolian Chicken. It is not on the menu but I'm sure you will love it and they would be happy to make it for you. They also make all their eggrolls in house by hand. You aren't getting anything prepackaged or frozen here. If you are in the North Jefferson area you must try Ming's. read more

Got the kung pao chicken which always have a sweet/savory sauce and some fire from the red peppers. Today it was horrible. Sauce was watery and no flavor at all. It was horrible. I asked waitress about it and she said that's the way the sauce should be. I was polite but decided for about the 20th time I was never going again. After toda however, I am finished with them. If you are looking for palatable food, this probably isn't the place for you. Almost all of the food that was offered was sub-par. For example, some of the chicken I got was tough and lacked flavor. Another item that had almost no taste was the egg roll, which was also greasy. On the other hand, the dumplings were overly salty. One of the only items that I somewhat enjoyed was the fried chicken.
