    Vegetable Lo Mein
    Joiya A.

Huge huge portions!! My order of vegetable Lo mein and 2 egg rolls made 4 meals for me. Fresh, hot, and perfectly seasoned. Mostly to go orders are placed but they do have an option to dine. Older establishment but it gets the job done. Friendly staff.

    Take out / delivery only.

Wow this place was great. Downtown Birmingham has a lot of great options. I ordered orange beef which came with fried rice. I ordered an egg roll and a large hot and sour soup (a quart! Wow huge). The orange beef came with blacked orange peels, lots of broccoli and well seasoned lean beef. Highly recommend.

My job is in walking distance of this place. Order ahead and go pick up. They have a lunch menu like most places and you get just about the same portion size for a cheaper price. Here you get more than a lunch portion and great food. I've ordered the pepper steak with lo mein about 6 times and it hasn't failed not once. Really good food. I tried my usual favorite Kung Pao Shrimp once and it was quite different from what I'm used too. Never had it with celery and carrots in it. I'd prefer to never have it that way again either and they said I can order it without those veggies which is good to know.

Since our normal delivery Chinese place has recently closed on Saturdays, we had to branch out on one of the online delivery services when we were craving Chinese. Not only did Chinese sound good, but we also needed white rice for a recipe later in the week. I will start by saying that they don't send the containers of white rice like other places typically do. But that is entirely on me not reading descriptions. But in no way is their fault. Since we had forgotten the other place was closed, the decision on food was already made. So when we saw that they had the same items, it was much more simple to order the same things. So we went with Mongolian beef, egg drop soup, spring rolls and sweet and sour shrimp. The best thing we got were the spring rolls... and they were just ok. The egg drop soup had no depth to it. The Mongolian beef was fine. But the portion had a TON of rice and not a lot of the beef. The sweet and sour shrimp were really bad. It is honestly amazing how much batter they were able to put on these. The most excessive breading on any dish I have ever had. They looked HUGE. But the shrimp inside were very normal or below normal size. I can honestly say I will never order from here again. If I'm in this neck of the woods, I might try to order something in person while asking some questions. But I won't roll the dice on getting delivery again.

It taste ok!?! Really wish I could have dined there this particular time however it was delivered...

The best sesame tofu ever made!
    Joanna B.

The BEST sesame tofu in the world. I cannot find another place that makes it even a little bit close to the way they do it, and I have scoured the Internet for a recipe to do it myself-- it doesn't exist. Most Chinese places just cube tofu and pan-fry it, but New China Town batters it and fries it up just like sesame chicken. Great for vegans and vegetarians who miss "regular" Chinese takeout. And even our non-vegan family members love it, too! We live in the Huntsville area and I am so excited every time we go to Birmingham because I HAVE to get this tofu! It's my favorite meal and I think about it all the time if I were rich I would personally pay for them to open up a location in Huntsville! Too bad I'm not.

Mongolian chicken. What was left after I pulled out the few pieces of chicken. Mongolian onions?
    Jentile W.

I ordered the Mongolian chicken with eggroll. I think the pictures tell all. The eggroll was inedible. I dissected it and it was all cabbage. They didn't even send any hot mustard to camouflage it. I had eaten here many times 5 years ago and it was Ok- not high quality, but ok. This meal was ridiculous and sad.

Really good takeout, made on time. And, evidently, I need to type 85 characters to say this.

The sweet and sour tofu is absolutely delicious and enough for at least two meals (unless you're greedy like me then it's just one). 100/10

We got so many things to start with Coconut water rice cake. Yes it does have the consistency of a sponge cake. It was good! I also got some Panda red bean buns. Cute and also good! For drinks: Sake, Taro bubble milk tea, and a Thai milk tea. We tried Winter Melon and clam soup For my entree I got Chicken with Lotus root which I enjoyed, My husband got crispy intestine . (My husband said he has never had it done that well-clean taste ) I tried it and it was ok. My son got the Szechuan style sautéed brisket and he ate it up ! To go yep we got sautéed pork belly and eggplant, pork, & basil . Both were also good. The waiter worked his bum off and we gave him a good tip. The only complaint were the young boys working up front who weren't friendly and acted like working was killing them. Why I didn't give you a 5! Otherwise you would have deserved it !!! All the food was delicious! Now on to the market - I like this better than the hometown market why they have many things I haven't seen including Jin noodles I have been looking everywhere for!!!! We bought many things to try including cucumber, orange, and what I thought was Mango potato chips. Nope it was abalone ! Not so good but the orange was good Of course Jin noodles , tiramisu mochi, banana milk rice snacks(yum) , tamarind drink, orange pepper spice, and chili crisp Our cashier though was joyless . Would I go back to both ? Yes I would!!

My moo goo gai pan had barely any chicken in it. There were huge chunks of vegetables and it was way too starchy. It was like they were trying to compensate for the lack of protein in it. I haven't ordered from them this year, but I did tonight. Listen the economy is rough for everyone but I paid $15 for this chicken and they used maybe 1/8 of a chicken breast in it. Not cool. Hate to leave the negative review, but I need to warn people that they're using filler food to complete the orders and charging more. What's not cool anywhere these days is paying more and getting way less than just a few years ago. All of us are working hard to earn money and it just feels so disappointing to not get what you pay for, especially when you're paying more than you used to. I don't know who to blame for this. If I wanted a carton of vegetables I would have eaten a frozen bag for $2.50 tonight.
