Doesn't look like much when you walk in but I was pleasantly surprised with my meal! I arrived during the lunch period , which is from 11am-3pm. Despite it being lunchtime, it wasn't crowded and I was able to order right away. I came prepared and knew exactly what I was ordering. I ordered General Tso chicken (extra spicy) and Chicken and Broccoli. There was a little bit of a language barrier. This made it slightly difficult for me to understand everything the gentleman taking my order was saying- No biggie, we got through it and he was very nice! I would say that it took a little long to get my order but there were a number of call in orders placed while I was waiting. Also, I believe there were only two people total cooking and taking orders. When I got home and looked at my food , I was impressed with the portion sizes. As other reviewers stated, it's enough to have some for later. I agree 100%! The General Tso chicken had a really good crispy batter and the sauce had the perfect amount of sweet and heat. I ordered mine extra spicy since I prefer more of a spicier dish. The Chicken and Broccoli is a dish I had never tried before. I was a little skeptical but I enjoyed it too- lots of wok seared chicken in a brown sauce and plenty of extremely fresh broccoli. I may have to order this dish spicy the next time, since it seem like something was missing from it. The egg roll wasn't anything special but decent- when eating it I tasted a little hint of cinnamon in it, I think! I didn't eat the hot and sour soup. The fried rice was traditional yet good. Overall, the food exceeded my expectations. I am always hesitate when I got to chinese spots because in my experience, I find that they can be hit or miss. Miss MOST times for me! I ordered from online menu price $9.95 and wonton soup showed two sizes pint and quart , when I arrived for pick up my bill was almost, $20. I asked for the manager, who wasn't the usual person I've seen in the five years I've been a patron. When I explained my concerns about the price difference, he informed me that it had never been that price . Mind you, I usually order the same thing. I'm totally aware of what I had been paying. He insisted that I was wrong, so I pulled up the online menu showed it to him, I don't appreciate you trying to make a liar out of me and refused to pay the $20 that he was trying to charge me in the end and back down again to me for a discount of price of $15 still more than what it should've been! I came here this last Monday (4/30/18) as I had just started working nearby, and since it was one of the first restaurants I came to, I figured I'd give the local Chinese place a try out of semi-morbid curiosity. I wasn't expecting amazing fare given how it looked but, well, it ended up being pretty much how one would expect. At least the portion size was enough to fill me up for 2 meals, so for the price of $6.59 (including tax), that's not too bad. The overall score takes this fact into consideration (I even had to go back to check on my personal criteria for scoring to figure out whether to rate this a 2 or 3/5 haha, but I gave it a little boost due to the price and portion). I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special, which came with soup and fried rice. The hot and sour soup was... mostly watery pepper. Not much sour going on, or much other flavor either, and the thickness not quite there. At least the mushrooms were fairly fresh, and the fried wonton skins were decently crunchy/fluffy and not overly dripping in oil, though the pieces were cut kind of large and it left the kind of aftertaste I'm not fond of. I'd rate it probably a 1/5. The fried rice was on the dry side and the soy sauce used to flavor it was probably Kikkoman or something that was high salt and less rounded in flavor, so I wasn't a huge fan, though it's at least edible and can fill one up. 2/5 I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, which I guess wasn't too bad, though there is also definitely room for improvement. I did like that the vegetables in it were quite fresh (except the baby corn which probably came from a jar) and cooked to the right degree, and that the chicken was decently flavored and held its shape. However, the chicken was not quite crisp enough, and the overall sauce was too salty and likely store-bought. The peanuts also seemed added on as an afterthought, as there was no processing of them prior to the dish, so they were bland and soft instead of flavorful and crunchy like they should be. So this was probably a 2.5-3/5 I'd come around lunch hour, and the wait was a little longer than I would have expected at a place like this, and there aren't that many tables so I had to get take-out. The woman at the cash register was efficient though, which was nice. So in summary, not a good place for authentic Chinese food and I likely won't be frequenting it again, but if you want a decent amount of warm food for a decent price and don't care how your Chinese food tastes, then I guess be my guest, as based on the other reviews, it seems like it's one of the few "Chinese" food places in that city. read more

Very rude, they charge 0.50 if your total is under $8.00 and you use a card! They don't tell you they just charge you. My egg roll was burnt and food was not flavorful. Okay I'll start off by saying this first I do like to place I do like that food and this is only been going on for about maybe 2 years maybe three. This is my problem when you pay with a debit card they charge you a fee for paying with your debit card if you pay cash the price is different they're passing on the fee they have to pay each time you swipe your card thus cheating the credit card company and or Bank out of the service fee they charge them they're passing it on to the customer that's not right and they know it that's why they try to do cash only at a lower price I thought about reporting them to Visa which is who I use through my bank. They have new owners, the food is bland and doesn't taste good. They have changed the sweet and sour sauce and it's horrible. I asked the cashier if they had changed owners because I ordered food about a month ago and it was horrible and today was the same, she said technically no. Not sure what that means, but I'm positive they have. I've been a customer for over 7 years and the original ladies and her son are no longer there and you can tell the difference in the food. The restaurant prices for lunch hour are high compared to other Chinese restaurants around the area, but they exceed my expectation on having good Chinese food. First off, the egg rolls are huge and I couldn't even finish my meal since I got full from eating the egg roll. The hot and sour soup had lots of mushroom and the right amount of spices to bring the flavor together. The chicken and broccoli had good amount of brown sauce added on the plate which I didn't need to add any soy sauce at all. Other places, I be asking for extra sauce and it still doesn't be enough on the plate. But here, I didn't even have to ask. It's like they read my mind on how I prefer my food to be. As for the meal itself, both the chicken and broccoli were good and it tasted as if they were sautéed. My only complaint is that the onion in the fried rice could've been cook longer, but I'm be coming back every now and then for some good food. read more

I went here on 02/03/2022 on a rainy day. When I got to the car I checked my food and I was missing the egg rolls and they gave me white rice instead of fried rice. It was pouring down rain so I just kept it and went home. I ate the food and that night I felt like my stomach was going to explode. Later on I developed a fever of 102 which held strong for the past 3 days. I was throwing up, confused, found it hard to concentrate, and the bathroom was my best friend. Delicious! Nice portion sizes and the food is great. It's is very clean inside. Convenient location. Dining are has 5 tables that seat four people. Most dinners run $8.25 and include a fried rice, and an egg roll. Lunch is only $5.99 and includes fried rice and your choice of wonton soup or an egg roll. Lunch is from 11:00am until 3:00 pm. Went there on Saturday for lunch and they knocked it out of the park as always! They have very good lunch specials that come with either an egg roll or soup. My husband and I always choose the egg roll, fried rice, and either the kung pao chicken or beef noodles. The portions are very generous and delicious! I walked in and ordered take-out and it wasn't until I got home that I realized my order was wrong. Not a problem if the food had been good. I ordered hot & sour soup - I got a pint of greasy, cold egg drop soup instead. I also ordered an egg roll, which by the look of it, must have been a day (or two) old and not fresh. It was difficult to bite because it was so dried out and tough. I watched them drop the crab rangoon into the fryer after I ordered it, but when I bit into it, it was just a puffed, fried pastry with a tiny amount of cream cheese and no sign of crab in them. The prices would be reasonable if the food had been edible. It was my first and last time going there. I won't waste my time and money again on this place. read more
