Hey, when it hits the spot, it hits the spot. I give places 5 stars, not because they are fancy establishments, but because they do well what they have set out do to. I love stopping by, placing my order IRL (because I cannot be bothered with the extra step of calling ahead of time), going into The Pig next door to do a small, supplemental grocery shop, and show back up right as my food is ready. This week, I ordered the General Tso's chicken, which was better than others I've had of late, and an order to chicken fried rice, to reheat for lunch the next day. The fried rice here is missing a certain depth of flavor other places have, but this allows it a much brighter and lighter flavor, which I also appreciate. Prices are fair, portions are correct, staff is friendly and efficient. I'll certainly try some of the specials next time I'm back. read more

China Moon is a strip center, American style Chinese restaurant that's primarily takeout but has a couple of tables for dine in. I had an egg roll and Kung Pao chicken and both were great. The portions and pricing were both very fair. It's nothing fancy, but the people were nice and the business was clean. read more

I love this place hands down. I use to go all the time when I worked near the location. Now, it's a few times a month but it's never bad. The beef egg rolls are excellent and different. Pretty great for simple strip mall Chinese. I think every Chinese restaurant has pretty much the same menu, and all the familiar dishes are there. I got the sesame chicken lunch special today. A two-meal portion of crispy chicken bathed in sweet and syrupy sauce was paired with pretty plain "fried" rice. I asked for it spicy, and while it had a dried pepper in it/ it wasn't spicy. The more successful dish was the double cooked pork. It was absolutely delicious! Slices of tender pork were velveteen in a rich brown sauce. Also delicious were a very generous portion of pan fried dumplings. Definitely a great take out neighborhood Chinese spot. read more

I tried to give them another shot because the food was pretty good but their poor customer service is consistent although it was slightly better this time. Also they don't give you the same thing each time so you have to be really specific with you order.. ugh. The first time I ordered the "peppered chicken" it came with fried rice but the last time I ordered the same thing and it came with just white rice. Me not liking plain rice I called and asked if this was correct and was told that I have to order the fried rice. They offered to replace it for free but I'd already made it home. read more

The egg roll was good and not dripping with grease like others I've had elsewhere. I like to mix the duck sauce with a dab of Chinese mustard but I always forget how hot the mustard can be. I was disappointed in the wonton Soup which I didn't realize was Egg Drop with Wontons. Not a fan of Egg Drop soup and this one didn't have any flavor. The wontons were good though. I enjoyed venturing out for good Chinese food especially within the area I'm not familiar with. This restaurant came up on the Yelp app and with the name China Moon, what could go wrong? Since I wasn't dining in, I just got my food to go and it seems like you get more portion size that way. Placing my food order wasn't the most pleasant experience which felt like I was being rushed by the young man and he seem to be in a hurry to get somewhere. Ended up having to add an egg roll since they don't include it on there lunch menu which is a shame in my opinion. I also order the lunch special Mongolian beef with fried rice and a hot and sour soup which turn out the Mongolian beef and rice was delicious especially with the onion and green peppers, but the hot and sour soup was a tad sweet for my liking. read more

Such a great restaurant! We moved farther away, so don't get to get takeout as often, but when we do it's always so good! Now, I agree that their lunch special fried rice is not good, but their pork fried rice on the menu is one of my favorites! Other go to items are the shrimp with broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and the dumplings. Give those items a try and you won't be disappointed! read more

I'm not sure what the hype is about this place however, I'm not overly impressed, in the least bit! I walked in at 11:15am. The lady at the counter watched me walk up to the counter. She made eye contact with me, and said, "Wait!" At that time I noticed she was messing with the kitchen clock. She continued to correct the time on the clock, and then went to the back to hang it up. About 10 minutes later the lady approached the counter and said, "What do you want?" No apology for the wait, no small talk... by the way, I'm still the only person in the resturant... by this time it's 11:25am. I'm doing my best to remain patient and ignore the hunger pains. I ordered the peppered chicken special (completely forgetting about the Lunch Specials). By this time people are coming in, placing their orders, and leaving rather quickly. Me... I'm in the corner waiting for my food, and watching the clock tick by. FINALLY 25min later, I received my food! I ate as quickly as I could as I had to get back to work. Very rude! Very slow! China Moon is in a small strip of a drugstore, grocery store, and nail shop. Be careful in the parking lot because no one pays attention. Food is better than most fast food Chinese- less greasy. Good prices, fast, no complaints. Curry chicken is one of my favorites, and you generally can't go wrong with the broccoli chicken. Egg fu yung is quite good, but choose other than the shrimp. There is a place to sit and eat, but just grab and go...everybody does! read more

I'm only giving this location 2 stars because their customer service sucks! When most people enter the restaurant this one adult Asian female hardly ever greets the customer with a smile or a hello. She just stands there as if you're bothering her! Customer service means a lot to me! As customers, we don't have to beg any business to take our money! Needless to say I won't be going back. What I described above happens too much. I will say that their food is delicious. However that's not enough to get past the owners attitude or lack thereof. This rating would be at least a 4. Really poor Chinese food I am afraid. Went in and ordered Shrimp Fried rice. They really don't seem to use the wok for sauteing the food as you would expect. The shrimp was boiled and added from a bucket at the end of the process therefore it had no flavor at all. The bits of onion and the yellow rice were quickly heated but received no color from the Wok process. I am a white, italian and I could make better fried rice than what I was served here and that is really sad. read more

The food taste good, but I have a problem with the deception. The fried scallops aren't scallops at all. Their scallops are rolled, breaded tofu. Knowing how expensive scallops are, I used to question how they could sell 12 medium size scallops for less than $3...until I dissected one. I took the breading off and actually saw that I was a thin slab of tofu, rolled cinnamon roll style, breaded and deep fried. China Moon is basically your typical strip mall Chinese food without a whole lot of authentic options. Still, it's our neighboorhood fix when we don't want to head over to Red Pearl or Great Wall. We do tend to limit our orders to Ho Fun (those wide noodles are amazing and good with chicken, beef or vegetables depending on the rest of our order), Chicken on a stick (guilty pleasure) and pretty good pot stickers (fried). Sally also likes the moo shu but I'm not a big fan of that dish anywhere. Soups are ok but not amazing. Next time I need to try the specials which sound fairly authentic like garlic sauteed eggplant and salt and pepper chicken. We always get takeout as the place is pretty tiny. The woman working the register (perhaps the owner) has been there for years and is pretty nice although they can be a little stingy with the hot mustard. read more

Very affordable. I got the sesame chicken and it was fantastic. My boyfriend got the chicken fried rice and was a big fan he said it didn't have very much flavor. We also got the cream cheese wontons and they were very good. We will definitely eat here again he will just order something different. I would give China Moon 5 stars IF they ever opened on time. They consistently open late, and I like to eat lunch early. I do love the food at China Moon, and for the price you can't get much better. The Hunan Pork is the best I have ever had. Everything is made to order, so it is always hot and fresh. The fried rice isn't phenomenal- but like I said, for the price its great. The last time I ate here it was so gross. The chicken was gray and the rice stunk so bad the only thing I ate was the egg roll and the only reason that was half way good was that it was pre-made. I ordered Hunan Shrimp and a veggie egg roll to go. The egg roll was tasty and not overcooked. The Hunan Shrimp was some of the best I've ever had. The shrimp were large and flavorful. What happened?? My family and I have been eating here for years and have always enjoyed the food. We generally get the same items as we've sampled the entire menu. We were lost while they were on vacation, or so we thought... I just spent $40 on the blandest, tasteless food I've ever gotten there. Not impressed. My first time here. I went in and ordered the lunch special of sesame chicken and an egg roll. Waited twenty-five minutes on my food- while four people who had come in after me had already gotten theirs and left. I got back to work and the rice is yellow- bland and has no vegetables. The chicken is ok but not great. The egg roll had a good filling but the outside was very thick and not crispy at all.
