GREAT FIND ALERT! I don't think 5 year old reviews should still be up on Yelp. Despite some horrible past reviews I gave this place a chance and it could not have been nicer, I walked in and ordered the Kung Pau Chicken Combo. In :10-:12 minutes it was presented. Hot, fresh, super tasty!! The female owner(?) could not have been more pleasant. I value Yelp reviews but I hope I'm not the only one who looks for current relevance in them. I ordered lo mein noodles without shrimp due to me being very allergic. They added shrimp. I also ordered sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken. They gave me two sweet and sour chicken. and mind you most of the chicken was RAW or UNCOOKED. They didn't even offer a refund or anything. Not even a receipt because they don't want people to prove the order being wrong. read more

The spring rolls were soggy and unappetizing... the Sesame Chicken was unflavored and the pieces of chicken were hard and dry...the wings were perfect! So...overall...the entire meal of 40.00 plus dollars was saved only by the chicken wings! Probably will NOT be ordering from China Kitchen again besides the chicken wings. read more

Been eating here since they opened years and years ago. Never been disappointed. Eaten almost everything on the menu and I loved it all and so does my family. And now they order from there too. I love the combination seafood with fried rice. Delicious is all I can say. Owners are very nice and take care of their customers. Highly recommend!!! read more

As much as I would like to give China Kitchen a higher rating, each time I have ordered from here the service has been awful and the food has been "okay." The quantity for the price is actually very good, but the food quality is the major turn off for me. I feel like I can get better quality food from a neighboring city for the same price, and the extra drive is worth that to me. I've been here multiple times and the service has always been poor. The workers are always rude, and when the food is just mediocre, bad customer service is not going to make me come back. If you're wanting some Chinese food, maybe explore your neighboring options. read more

It was yuck. It's soo cheap, but sooo expensive! There was little to no meat in the General Tso chicken. Had ALMOST ZERO chicken in it. It was just the crust... The house "special" fried rice was sour as in pungent ingredients. The egg roll and dumplings tasted like the refrigerator. Which WHEN I got there, that's where she Was taking them out of!!! I ordered fried dumplings. They were steamed in grease! And they tasted like the refrigerator! Just sitting in grease. We couldn't eat it. $60.00....pathetic. It's a shame they haven't done better. This place has some of the best egg rolls and hot and sour soup anywhere around Birmingham. I'm not a big fan of their beef dishes, however the sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, and moo goo gai pan are all excellent. Very good fried won, however the fried noodles they serve with their soups are prepackaged and not very tasty. read more

I live in Hayden AL and have been tried China kitchen a number of times. It is not a place at all I would go to expect to eat fresh Chinese food. I have had to go back 2 times and ask them to remake my food Bc once I got home and started eating it tasted like heated up Chinese food you would get at piggy wiggy next door! ( if you order I don't have to say anything about the price Bc once you call it in they don't tell you the amount Bc they over price every thing and try and squeeze as much as they can for it) but the reason while I really typed this Bc the last time I went my food was ready sitting in a bag( already paid 15.** for just generals chicken and noodles) and besides handing me my food this lady gets 3 people in line then hands me my food!!!!!!!! If yelp means anything please take a notice and drive extra miles for better food and service that you deserve for working for your money.. read more

This is the place if you want chinese soup. I've been to a lot of chinese places and China Kitchen has some of the best Chinese soups out there. My personally favorite is the Hot and Sour soup. You can also add other things into your soup based on what you'd like. read more

Was so dissatisfied when I received my dish of house fried rice and Kung pow chicken. The rice, shrimp and chicken we're all under cooked. The Kung pow chicken was not at all spicy even though we requested it to be spicy. The chicken in the Kung pow was breaded like if it was orange chicken. When I told the cook that I didn't want the chicken breaded she said all Kung pow chicken was breaded like if this was the first time I order Kung pow chicken at a Chinese restaurant. read more
