As a lover of Chinese food after moving to the Jasper area from South FL, 1 1/2 years ago I went online line to search for a source. Too my surprise there are only two Chinese restaurants in Jasper ! After trying the small place twice I crossed it off my list. How good could a buffet place be ? Enter Lin Gardens, very friendly staff, very clean as well ! The food is amazingly good, and tasty with a nice selection which seems to vary . Last week I tried a carry out lunch on Monday, making my own selections. It was so good that I came back on Wednesday for another go round carry out ! My ONLY complaint is that the ice cream is frozen so hard you can't scoop it. read more

We stopped to eat dinner at Lin Garden while traveling. The service is good, we were immediately seated and the servers check up on you in a timely fashion. The dining room is quite large and offers an atmosphere similar to many other Chinese buffets. They offer a wide selection of food on their buffet. Most is your average tasting Chinese buffet style fare. Their fried chicken wings and drummies are very tasty, as is the spicy chicken dish. So it is an okay place to eat if you are hungry, want to get full, but don't want to spend a lot of time. read more

Stopped and had lunch today . The restaurant was very clean upon entering. Greeted with a smile by a waiter in training . They have an all you can eat buffet which me and my mother enjoyed . The food was hot and fresh . Everything was steaming and it was lunch time . The waitress was very prompt about seeing about us every 6 minutes. Which we didn't mind. The price was very affordable for two $26.12 . We will be back to visit . read more

I went there and had the lunch buffet. Granted, it was a Monday, but the food was a bit of a war crime. It looked to have been freshly prepared and the place has a nice vibe. The service was good and the staff was pleasant. But the food...Although the custards and fried shrimp were passable, everything I tasted with any sort of sauce was vile. Evidenced first by smell and then by taste, the oils had a rancid quality that was difficult to sort out by taste, but exercised a repressive effect on my appetite that would make Ozempic feel bad about itself. I'm hoping that the place just got a bad batch of sesame oil. Otherwise, the chef there has a lot to answer for. read more

Always great food and staff are very nice. Have regularly been going here since I was a kid. It's very cozy Also, I have never seen a roach here whatsoever. I think people are really blowing that out of proportion. I don't doubt there may have been a roach that one time long ago, but come on people you ain't opening the doors with a tidal wave of bugs flooding out. They get high health department scores which is all the confidence I need that they're doing things right, if that changes, I will change my mind but things like this need to be approached with reason instead of panic. read more

We eat at Lin Garden semi regularly and their buffet on Sunday is very very good. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

We go to Lins about once a week. Quality meals in heaping helpings with good service, too. Don't too many of y'all show up at once so I can still get in there. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The rice was dry the chicken tastes awful the restaurant smelled awful.

If I could, I would give negative stars. Usually go here with my parents. Here and Ryan's have been their favorites forever and since Ryan's closed, it's always here now. The last 2x we were here, though, employees have sat at the table next to us preparing food. First it was shelling peas or beans of some sort by the boxfulls. Today it looked like they were making the dumplings to steam (see pics). They had some kind of meat concoction and were spooning it into the dumpling dough. Though the meat packing was fairly distracting, we didn't really have an issue with it. Our unpleasant experience truly began after we sat down from the buffet with our plates. My mother, perhaps needing a napkin, noticed and pointed out to the rest of us a small roach crawling across the napkin holder. Kind of looked like a baby roach. I picked the napkin holder up and knocked the roach onto the floor where I then stepped on it. I looked over to tell the employees sitting next to us, but they had gotten up (leaving the meat out in all its unappetizing glory) to wait on someone - they also worked as servers. So I sat there with my foot on the roach with the intention of showing them when they came back. It was at that point my mother reached for the sugar packets for her lemon water. That's when she saw the second small roach. At that point, we were done. What really pushed me past the breaking point was the meat concoction on the table next to us was sitting out unattended and all the possibilities that could happen to it. If we had 2 roaches crawling on our table, I could hazard a guess that they very well could also be 6 feet away crawling across that meat. With my foot still on the first roach, my dad went to retrieve our server. They returned, we explained, and she apologized profusely. She was still doing so when 2 others came back to stuff the dumplings. They sensed there was a problem and spoke briefly in another language. One did a little "cuckarocha" dance for us and tried to laugh it off but no one thought it was very funny. On our way out, upon hearing our story, the young man at the front counter also apologized and felt the need to show us the receipts from Cook's Pest Control. That didn't really help us. It was too late. Nice people, but we'll be looking for another place for our family dinners from now on. read more

Chinese buffet at the mall. Most everything seemed fresh and there were plenty of choices including several soups; beef, chicken and seafood entrees, lo mein, sushi and desserts. Service was friendly and they were always quick to pick up dirty plates. read more

If you go in the early afternoon, soon after opening hours, the service is better. If you wait and go in the evening..not so much. There is an older white woman working there sometimes who I assume is a manager; I've heard her get snippy and rude with a couple patrons before. They are not always good with getting drink orders right and refills are slow getting back to the tables. Some of the buffet items are mislabeled or just not labeled at all. read more

I have been going to Lin Garden over 7 years and I will NEVER go there again. I went in today and my food was not the usual quality. My family's food was okay, but subpar. The particular dishes I always get were dry, tasteless and just generally meh. I asked the manager who knows I've been coming there for 7 years to knock *my* part off the bill. Just mine. I had barely been able to eat anything and was still hungry leaving. The manager yelled at me, refused to do so, and then attempted to SHAME me about "wasting food" in front of other customers. She said NO one would knock a person's meal off of a bill for it not being as good as they wanted anywhere. I asked her if she'd ever eaten at another restaurant, because yes, even places like McDonalds will give you a full refund if the food is not up to quality. I mean, I can't really top the fact that she tried to shame me in front of other customers about wasting food. This woman runs a buffet and she really slung at me that people are starving in other countries while my plate of food plus a plate with two spring rolls on it were "wasted". Well yes, that's what happens when you put your food out and let it set under warmers for hours instead of putting out smaller amounts as it is needed between rushes. Blaming me for that is sad, but trying to shame me for it in front of other customers? That's just unbelievable. I have never been so insulted by a restaurant before. I will never go back and frankly, it won't be missed. The food was never that amazing anyway. It was always only so-so. We only really went because it was the only Chinese place in town. From now on, I'll just drive to Yi Cuisine in Sumiton when I want Chinese and it'll be delicious and the service will be fantastic. read more

Let me just say that I almost never do buffets. But this place is actually ok. The hot and sour soup and pot stickers are what keep me coming back, but I avoid most of the meat even though it's ok. They have more choices than most places, seem fresh enough, and great service. RW & LS read more

Just ok Chinese buffet. You'll get plenty to eat for a decent price but the food is really not so good. I think they use way too much sugar in the entrees. I actually enjoy the veggies most. Also, we went on a Friday and it's all you can eat snow crab on the buffet also. That was cool. read more

Best Chinese buffet I have ever eaten from. Of course, it is all completely Americanized with gobs of cheese on many of the items, but that is just the way I like it. :) The cheese covered salmon was yummy delicious, as were the egg custards. I even had some of the sushi, which I liked but can't really comment on the quality of because I was a sushi-virgin until then. The wait staff was polite and friendly, and they were quick to remove our plates and refill drinks. The atmosphere was typical of a buffet restaurant. And, the best part... we didn't experience any digestive troubles after leaving (a common ill-effect when we eat at buffet-style restaurants.) read more

Food itself was pretty decent. Some things were overcooked. The sushi wasn't labeled so there was no way to tell what we were eating. The service just isn't very good. I had to ask for a refill on my drink and the servers just didn't seem interested in helping you. When I paid at the counter I wasn't thanked or asked how my meal was. If you are looking for a cheap lunch buffet this is the place for you. Don't expect good interactions with servers or staff however. read more

Worst experience ever in a restaurant! My gf took two bites of the Mongolian beef before she started feel bad and after my first few bites of the beef my stomach started hurting and their food gave me diarrhea and i literally had to run to their restroom. They've been going downhill steadily for a couple of years, both in food and service. They have lied to my face and said that they can't get tuna for sushi anymore in Alabama because of some health regulations and increased prices, despite the fact that two other restaurants in the city have it. Today we went in against my wife's better judgement, because I wanted Chinese; we shouldn't have. The my food was okay, but hers was bad and when she asked if she could get a refund for her nearly untouched plate, they tried to shame her for wasting the plates of food, loudly talking about how people in other countries are starving where other customers could hear. Ridiculous. I urge you to go anywhere else in the area for Chinese or buffets; this location is no longer worth your time or money. Two stars instead of one because they used to be pretty good, maybe they'll have a change of management in the future. read more

Liked the food here, would stop in when we could afford a dinner or lunch out. That is no longer welcome and when met at the door to take our business elsewhere, or to go because of "complaints" (that would not be addressed to deal with it), it's not a place that will remain on our list. Very disappointing, and more so that the management would not address it with us. It's ok food, but has changed with popularity. read more
