Man! not the review I wanted to give. I had been following the instagram page for a while and was looking forward to trying the wings. I went on a Cold night tonight 2/21 around 630pm. The place was being run by two teens who were very nice. I placed my order for gumbo (which was not available even though they opened at 5) I also ordered 10 wings and ordered buffalo and loose cannon flavors . My food was ready in 6 minutes which was a red flag. I opened my order and the wings were extremely large and when I bit into them it was soggy and meat was rubbery like they were previously frozen. I was very disappointed and for $20 for 10 wings I feel like I could have got what I wanted from elsewhere. I only was able to stomach 3 wings/10. On a good note flavor was there but the quality of the chicken was not good and they definitely were not fresh being my order was done in 6 minutes. Very disappointed and a waste of money. read more

I saw on the austineater instagram advertise this food truck and the wings looked bomb AF. So my friend and I wanted to give it a try. Thankfully it's in south austin right down the road from where we live. When we arrived, there was no menu to look at and the girl had ask "what can I get you" like we knew what to order but had no idea since it was our first time and asked if there was a menu. She gave us one but all the wings listed had no description and she had closed the window of the food truck while we ordered. Lol it was a strange first impression. Any way this guy opens up the window up and asked if we had questions, we ordered and he ensured he would provide the sauce on the side. We got lemon pepper wings and something else I can't remember the name but they were both dry rub wings with fries. DAMN THEY WERE SO GOOD! They were juicy, tasty, 5 is enough for one person I'd say. however, they forgot ranch or dipping sauce!!!! Super bummed about that. We should've checked our to go boxes before leaving. We made it work and whipped up some ranch with the leftover seasoning on the wings and made our own. We will definitely be back to try some of the other flavors including the wet wings. We ordered wings and fries. The wings were actually pretty decent. Not the best I've ever had, but pretty good. The fries were absolutely awful. The fries were rock hard. Every single one of them. The food delivered in a styrofoam box, and the styrofoam was melted. Like this food had been sitting under a heat lamp for way too long. I'm not sure if this is what made the fries in-edible. Our group picked this as a destination. After reading the hype, I was looking forward to sampling some of these 'great wings' and possibly a Creole dish. What I got were some average sized wings and some decent fries for $13 special. When I went back for a soda, the kid again kept my change and the coke was warm. When I asked the others about their choices, they only said what they got. Nothing to rant about. Climbing over the cables to sit at the table, we had to split up as they were immovable. I am a huge wing fan and was having a late night craving. I remember seeing some ads for this place on Instagram and Facebook and remembered they had late night ordering on the weekends. I call and speak to someone and he ask me if I Have ever been there before, let him know I haven't and he started recommending items. I let him know what I was craving and he let me know the flavors to order. Placed the order over the phone and drove over and the food was hot and ready. He also let me sample another flavor and let me tell you all the flavors SLAP! The wing basket came with 10 wings and a whole to go container of fries that are very well seasoned. Flavors are awesome especially the fries with big portions. Expensive but hey it's Austin and running a quality small business isn't cheap. I have two comments about the two times I have been there. The wings themselves are poor quality, fatty and some were even undercooked close to the bone. It's hard to fry that big of a wing and you can just taste they aren't a high quality meat. They taste cheap. The first time I went I guess this guy was the owner or worked there at least but he was screaming profanity at someone inside the trailer. I walked up and asked the person at the window if they were okay and they said "yes." I asked a question while the guy went inside the actual trailer and pulled out a young man and threatened to "beat his ass." Someone made a comment to him and he looked over at me and said "I'm sorry how can I help you?"Then he started showing me the menu and taking up the flavors. He took out his phone when he served me and wanted to record a video of me eating the wings I guess for their social media. No bland food ovaaa here! Two master chefs in a tiny trailer truck. Chicken was so crispy and good that I didn't have time to take a picture of the food. My hands were too busy (and messy) eating mango maniac (sweet and mild spice) and loose cannon (I believe there was sprinkled cheese on top of the wings). Also, the hospitality was insane. The cook gave my friend and I free bottled waters and hand delivered the fries to our table instead of us picking it up at the window. The R&B jams were also a plus. Wings + R&B = best combo A few things to remember when you visit: - they only take Venmo or Cashapp as payment - no dipping sauces available bc it will ruin the flavor of the wings - definitely ask for napkins - it's located in a parking lot I only gave 4 stars because the flavors on the menu are very hard to navigate. Picked this up for dinner tonight and WOW, so so good. They recommended loose cannon and stardust, even let me sample the loose cannon flavor before I ordered. Both are seriously delicious, spice level is on point (I don't like super spicy, these were perfect), liberally seasoned, and the chicken itself was so crunchy and juicy. Stardust especially is next level. The fries were pretty good, also nicely seasoned. Can't wait to come back for that gumbo and desserts! Only complaint is they forgot to hand me my drink and I didn't notice until I got home! Lol that's kind of on me though. ‍ Too distracted by munching on the fries all the way home. A friend of mine told me these were the best wings in Austin. He lied. This visit was a real bummer for me. I ordered the wing basket and definitely over paid for it. ( via Venmo because they don't take credit cards) The "wet" wings were as dry as dry rub wings. The dry rub wings looked like they were double battered in parmesan cheese. The Heat Check flavor was about as spicy as watered down Tabasco sauce and the Loose Cannon (I was told this was the most popular flavor) was surprisingly bland considering how much seasoning was comically caked on. Their customer service is so poor they don't even deserve a rating . I placed my order on Saturday night and went to pick it up on Sunday and nobody was at the location . I called and the gentleman I spoke with promised me they would have my order ready later that day and he would contact me . He never contacted me nor did anybody from the restaurant.
