Second chance, worse than the first time.! Arrived and greeted friendly and ushered to our seat. Noticed there were 6 others there (time was 4pm). Had to wait nearly 15 for someone to take our order and then proceeded to watch the staff throw pizza plates in the back and laugh and simply just goof around. This was extremely frustrating especially given it took another nearly 45 minutes for a simple sandwich and soup. There will not be a third chance which is ashame given it's a local company and want to support them but we have hit our limit. read more

You have to get their pizza! I came for lunch with a group of friends, and we all ordered a pizza (not knowing that we easily could've shared just one or two, but the leftovers were great, too). The restaurant is pretty casual, with plenty of parking and seating. We were seated immediately, but service was a little bit slower. We didn't mind, since we weren't in a rush, but she definitely wasn't very attentive to check back in with us. The Porch is owned by the same company as Eat 'N Park and reminds me of a more upscale version of the diner. Just returned from an Elite event at "The Porch" at Siena in Upper St. Clair which is located near Whole Foods and has loads of convenient parking. This location of course has a large porch, or patio area that is inviting. Feels like the perfect place to be covered from the elements yet enjoying the out of doors. Screens can be pulled down to offer shade from the setting sun. The porch has spaced seating and a fireplace that would be inviting on a chilly day. Tonight's samplings were all so very tasty. The Porch changes their menu four times a year to feature local and freshest ingredients available. Each location has an on site annual garden with items used in meal preparation. All of the offerings on our menu were delicious. Brussels Sprouts that were lightly charred, Spicy BBQ Shrimp Dip with chips, just the right amount of spice. The Waygu Sliders were my favorite tonight. Tender beef with a perfect paring of sauce and tender bun. Peach and Prosciutto Pizza, Strawberry Summer Salad and a vegetarian slider all were good. Each of these items are winners to be ordered on another visit. The menu has items to please those with dietary restrictions as well. The Porch has a Happy Hour Monday thru Friday 4:30 to 6:30. A full bar of cocktails and wine as well as offer zero alcohol drinks.There is entertainment on Thursdays that rotate and tonight we enjoyed Mark Ferrari's music. read more

Our experience was very unique since the timing of the food delivery was so convoluted. After placing our drink order, salad and entrees we waited maybe five minutes when our entrees arrived. No drinks or salad yet. About another five minutes or so, our salads arrived. I asked they take them back. I asked for the manager who was preparing our drink order and delivered them to apologize for the delay in the drink order. The entrees weren't up to expectations with the cioppino tasting awful and the excessive fat on the prime rib. Needless to, we are voting with our money and not returning. read more

The menu is small, but very interesting. My dad said that the mushrooms on his pizza actually were different than the standard mushrooms you'd get in a store and I had asparagus on my pizza for the first time. The portion sizes are large. The mixed drink I got was great. There are some strange things... They definitely wasted a lot of pepper flakes and some oregano by putting piles of those and cheese on the plate instead of allowing us to choose if we wanted it. They also didn't give us a spoon, so we were scooping the cheese and oregano (and a few pepper flakes for him) on our forks, which isn't the best way to get something off a tray onto anything. The service was great and friendly, but when we had leftover pizza, she gave us weird containers where we had to stack the three leftover slices on top of each other. Dad had gotten a half pizza box when he had been there before. I asked about them and they weren't out of them. She'd just chosen to give us boxes that required us to stack our food on top of itself. I suggested that she might want to go with pizza boxes for pizza in the future. She offered to get me one, but I'd already stacked my pizza and I didn't want to waste the container I'd been given. Their water glasses are super small, but at least they leave the bottle of water on the table, too. Their restroom was clean. However, you're required to touch the handle on the way out and they only have the air dryers/germ tossing around machines. Better than the Dyson enclosed germ machines, but still risky. So, I had to wipe my hands off on my clothes AND maneuver my sweater so I could use it to open the door. If you're going to leave me without an option to dry my hands safely, you should at least let me get out of the restroom without having to TOUCH the door. I can't imagine how I'd have gotten out in short sleeves. It was hard enough in the sweater I was wearing. Oh! Dad had been there for lunch before. For lunch it's more of a counter service place where you order your food and drinks and they give you a number to put on your table, then deliver the food. Good Service. Seasonal Options. Good Value. We recently ordered takeout from The Porch for the first time. We have eaten in the restaurant a few times, but this is our first time ordering in. I as curious how some of their menu would translate to the takeout model, but we were pleasantly surprised. I had the Salmon Fried Rice - which I found quite tasty. After ordering I was concerned how well this dish would travel home, but I was pleased with the result. The salmon was cooked very well and made a great pairing with the rice. The portion was quite large. My wife ordered the Butternut Squash Pizza - which was the real winner of the night. This was autumn on a pizza and the perfect thing for a cool evening. Our one critique is that I wish the ham were in slices as opposed to chunks - but that is a minor issue. We shared a Cesar Salad - which was quite large and hit all the right notes. The low moment was the Tomato Soup - which honestly just tasted like tomato sauce. I suppose we were expecting a more traditional soup consistency, but the rest of the meal more than balanced this out. We ordered a kids pizza for our son - which was a HUGE portion and he was quite happy. All-in-all the food was very good, as was the price. The people are very friendly and the food was good but the smell at the bar was that musty wet mop smell. It permeated the entire bar. I couldn't enjoy my burger, which was a bit over cooked. Makes me think they don't have high cleaning standards. Either they don't wash their cleaning rags or change their cleaning solution enough. I wouldn't go back....it wasn't special. Having gone to the Porch a couple of times now, I have absolutely no complaints about their food. I love going here for brunch - their prices are very reasonable and come hungry because they give you huge portions! The space is very airy and bright, although there were a couple of flies hanging around just because the porch section is open, but it's not a deal breaker. We arrived a little after 10:30am and the porch area was a little packed, but inside seating was pretty empty. They don't sit everyone on top of each other when it's unnecessary too which I appreciated lol. Our waitress was extremely friendly and patient. We wanted to try a handful of brunch food since I was thinking about having my bridal shower here. However, what really aggravated me was when she went to get the manager to speak to us about private events, he wouldn't come out because he was too busy and to call back tomorrow or another time. In my opinion, this didn't leave a very good impression and we only needed a couple minutes of his time. Again, they weren't very busy at the time so I don't see why he wouldn't want to speak to someone interested in a private event, which made my decision a little easier. On another note, the food is extremely fresh and hot and tastes like it came out of your mother's kitchen! I will definitely be returning, just not having any private events there. read more

Food is good, everything else not so much. We have been here many times and the place is new and good looking. Unfortunately the service is below average. New twist- no more waiters and waitresses. You walk in, order at the counter and go to your table to wait for the food. I wouldn't mind it but it takes forever to get the food and for any little thing you wanna order you have to stand in line again. If you wanna refill you soda or take a to go box you have to stand in line again!! Super inefficient and confusing. Im not sure the employees know exactly how to operate as well. It's been a LONG time since I've had a good brunch...or any brunch for that matter. Between a pandemic baby and...a pandemic, brunch hasn't been in the cards for awhile. So, when presented with a gorgeous Sunday morning by ourselves, Jonathan D. and I hit the town in search of the perfect outdoor location. I also don't like to wait. This is important to know. #princess First Watch was a two-hour wait, so I thought we might be "settling" for The Porch based on some mixed reviews I'd heard. I was wrong...and so is everyone else. Ha! Truly, the service was outstanding, the food was interesting and well-prepared, and the atmosphere was just perfect. I haven't been the other location but I have visited this one a few times. It's a nice reliable place to stop in. The bar selection is limited but very good! The food is pretty great, pizza being my favorite menu item. They have several options and each one I've tried they've done very well. The staff is all very friendly and helpful and the manager seems to be engaged with everything and making sure all the customers are well taken care of! My favorite thing about this place is the happy hour specials. You can go in and get a bite to eat and have a few drinks without it costing too much. Have a seat at the bar, watch whatever game happens to be on at the time and relax! What more could you ask for? read more

The Porch at Siena was a nice change of paste for my husband and I in a different part of town. We happened to be in south hills and wanted to grab a bite to eat. The outdoor area was beautiful and was perfect on the beautiful evening we were having. Inside looked very nice as well with nice decor, we just chose to eat outside. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was very tasty. We went with a pizza to share for the two of us and it was the perfect amount of food. Eater beware. . . I should have taken it as a bad sign that the restaurant left a stack of cloth napkins half folded on the baby changing table in the men's restroom. Food took an hour to get to us. We think this was because they were busy preparing for a private party in the back? (Even though nobody from that private party arrived yet.) Or maybe because it was Father's Day. But they didn't actually seem that busy. Oddly the server asked if we needed anything else ::before:: we got our meal. And when we did get the meal, three of the four items were ice cold. The quiche was inedible, because it was half-burnt and dry and half-soggy. It was all cold though. One item was completely wrong - French toast instead of a waffle. And the server asked if he could take away any plates while we're still eating. Bad food, "don't care about you" attitudes, but the thing that would most keep me coming back is napkins folded on a baby-changing table. I have visited the Oakland location many times and finally got to check out their location in Upper St. Clair. As a full disclaimer, I would give this experience 3.5 stars if Yelp allowed it! The atmosphere here is awesome. Very bright and open, offering a lot of natural light. We were seated right away for brunch. Our waitress seemed unsure when she approached our table, reading specials and different options verbatim from a notepad. We decided to order cocktails and my friend ordered a Bloody Mary and I ordered the Porch Pink Lemonade. When the drinks came, I tried mine and thought to myself "this barely tastes like alcohol." I assumed because I had chosen a sweeter drink that was why. When I got my check I found out she had literally just served me a pink lemonade! I was annoyed as I ordered the drink with the exact name from the menu. To eat, I had the breakfast burrito. I really enjoyed the inside, but wasn't crazy about the sauce on the outside. I enjoyed their potatoes as well, but don't love their unique ketchup (what can I say, Heinz or bust!) Overall, I know I enjoy the Porch. I'm a fan. I love The Porch in Schenley, so I thought we would try it. Not an extensive menu but sometimes I like that because I assume each of these few chosen items are really good. It was snowy so we sat near the fireplace. Love the ambience. We each had a nicely crafted drink from the bar. I had the chicken and risotto topped with broccolini with a delicate lemon sauce. Perfect. I am in love. My sister had the roast beef sandwich. I don't like bleu cheese but she loved it because it's her thing. But the chicken - wow! Had pork dumpling starter and even finished off with apple dumpling (pretty good and large size). I'll be back for more chicken. Please don't take it off the menu. BTW, our server was REALLY good. Different sauces come in the side, which I appreciate. My one son had the tater tots and he said they were good. My daughter ordered the bbq chicken pizza and she and I split and liked that. Husband had a bacon cheddar burger which he said was good and my other son had the burnt steak tip tacos with fries. The fries were way over seasoned and salty. Basically inedible. The tacos had too much bbq sauce on them so you couldn't even taste anything else. Beers were good.
