I ordered DoorDash from Caliente, it got put together very quickly. The fries were very good, salty, and still hot even after delivery. The buffalo sticks were a great value. The salad was small and smaller than it looked on all the pictures on DoorDash. The rub on the boneless wings wasn't my favorite, too much going on taste wise. read more

My boyfriend had heard great things about Calientes so we wanted to give them a try.... we were very disappointed. For $26 I expected way more toppings for a Gluten Free Pizza. I liked the crispy crust but the lack of toppings was HIGHLY disatisfying. I do like that they used fresh mushrooms and onions but seriously needed way more to compensate the cost of $3 per topping... I won't be ordering again. It's not cost effective at all. The delivery driver was nice though and the place on the inside I'm assuming is relatively nice havent been inside to really determine but the delivery fee was $3.95 so do be aware it could have been more so at least there is that. If I would come back the prices need to be better for people who can't have gluten... $26 is insane for a 2 topping 8 slice Gluten Free Pizza and they would need to provide more toppings as you can see there is 2 slices with no toppings at all.... let's do better especially in these times of inflation. read more

We were in town and needed a big pizza order for a family birthday party and decided to try Caliente after it was recommended to us. I am so glad it was! I am eating dairy-free currently (unfortunately) and I was able to call ahead and figure out how to order to make sure I could avoid dairy. For anyone else who is wondering, the crust is dairy free and they have a dairy free, nut free cheese option that is easily added when ordering online for a group. The pizza crust was great and there were so many options for toppings. Everyone was happy with the pizza! We will definitely will be back! read more

Castle Shannon location: It has the quality & taste of a local place whose sole purpose is to feed drunk people late night. It has the price tag of a great place..however it's quality is a dive pizza joint. The dough is tough & wet, and doesn't have any specific flavor, it is simply bland dough. The sauce and cheese tastes are decent but nothing special. Sweet sauce but that's more a matter of preference to someone. Its just meh pizza but price doesn't match quality or taste. It was thick in places, undercooked, wet. Very disappointed for a 22$ large pizza (cheese and half sauage). Pet peeves: 1) toppings are the same price for half pizza or full pizza..not sure the logic other than to take your money. 2) charging almost a dollar for a side of ranch. read more

My boyfriend and I love this place. Lots of different beers, and the food is excellent. Just got our order from this place and I can't be more disappointed. My wife ordered dinner for the Steelers game and I was really looking forward to it. First, ordered 4 garlic sauces for our pizza and 2 blue cheese dressings for the wings. We got ZERO of both. I can't eat hot wings without blue cheese. That's why we ordered it. Now to the actual food. I can't comment on the wings because I can't eat them without blue cheese. My wife did eat hers and said they have absolutely no flavor. Garlic Parm wings that have no sauce and no flavor. The pizza I did try. It's dry. Almost no sauce. And guess what? I don't have garlic sauce to moisten it up. I haven't been this disappointed with a food order in a long time. How about you treat each order like it means something instead of just pushing them out so fast just to make more money. Obviously our food and what we ordered wasnt important. We've eaten here before and the food was good. This time the food is awful and we didn't get what we paid for. Disappointed and disgraceful. Save your money and order dominos. UPDATE: I went to the store today and got blue cheese dressing for my wings. Just like my wifes, they had zero flavor and no wing sauce. All in all, this is probably the worst meal I've had in a long time. Usually I give second chances, especially if I've been to an establishment before, but the food was so bad and we didn't get the sauces we paid for. I'm not sure this place deserves my business and after this experience I'm pretty sure it doesn't deserve yours either! read more

Had a going away party for my daughter so we ordered pizza from Caliente. We ordered 2 extra large pizzas. 1 white and one half pepperoni and half plain. We were told it would be an hour and 15 min. So after an hour and 45 min we called and were told that they only had 1 driver and it would be there in 5 min. After 2 hours and 5 minutes it finally arrived at almost 9pm. The manager gave me the option of 50% off or a credit for the full amount on the next order. I opted for the 50% off because I was pretty sure at this point I would never order from this place again anytime soon. The pizza showed up cold and hard as a rock like it sat out all night. Needless to say I will never patronize this establishment ever again. Food sucks and so does the management. I called back to complain but they must have recognized my number and left me on hold for 30 minutes. I felt bad for the delivery guy because he looked embarrassed. read more

Hello, I am writing regarding an online order I placed today at 10:45 AM for delivery to my workplace around noon. The order was prepaid, including a driver tip. When I checked with my workplace at approximately 1:15 PM, I was informed that the food never arrived. I then called the store and was told that the food had been ready since 11:45 AM but was waiting for a DoorDash driver because your in-house driver was unavailable. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of communication. At no point was I contacted to let me know there would be a delay or that a third-party driver was being used. Had I been informed, I could have made alternate arrangements. Ordering well in advance should reasonably come with timely delivery or at least a courtesy update when issues arise. This experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Never again read more

We went on a Saturday night and it was busy! We were able to grab a table and the busser came and cleaned it after we sat down! The waitress came over shortly and took our drink orders! The food came out fast for how busy it was! I had a pizza passport so I got a free small Luca pizza which is their award winning pizza and it was delicious! My husband and son got hoagies and they said it was good! I also order and antipasto salad and it had little mozzarella balls and roasted red peppers which was delicious! It was a little loud but it's a smaller space with lots of people enjoying their dinner! read more

The pizza was amazing and came out quickly while being piping hot. The sauce is more on the acidic side which was very delicious and a nice change from the typical sweet marinara. The garlic Parmesan fries were not anything special though and needed more Parmesan. The vibes were immaculate and our waitress was very kind. Drinks were also delivered quickly and I never had an empty drink. The table we were sat at was filled with a large caddy that took up almost the entire table. Definitely on the pricey side also. My wife and I went to Caliente our second time. Though it might be a nice neighborhood place to go. First time food was okay not great, not bad. However, tonight, Wednesday at 5:00 pm we went and we're the only ones in the restaurant. Ordered the veggie hoagie and learned it was the last night on the menu. Beware vegetarians. So I ordered the cheese calzone. Our came the hoagie and 25 minutes later the calzone. My wife was long done eating. The waitress never left her phone to check on us. I asked for a box and when it appeared debated taking the calzone home. Screw it. I was so fed up with the experience I just left it sitting there. I have no idea if it was good or not. We were excited to try Caliente's Pizza for the 1st time,, after all of the company driven praise. What an all around disappointment! We ordered *a lg pizza with blk olives, red onion, Roasted Red Peppers, and ricotta cheese *garlic parm boneless wings *Mediterranean salad. When we picked up the pizza it was so small. It cost $32.33. When we got home and took a bite, there was a bunch of sm chopped HOT peppers. My mouth immediately started to burn. I had not ordered anything with hot peppers. This along with the pizza being soooo small, we would probably never order again. Sorry read more

Pizza here is pretty good. My gluten free friend loves their buffalo chicken ranch GF pizza. It's really not bad! Their regular pizza was pretty good! Their wings were great! My one friend really loves their 8 mile pizza. I also liked their cheeseburger rolls, but be ware, they aren't super doughy. So if you like that, it's perfect! But if you're looking for more dough, maybe go in a different direction. However, I really liked them! To be honest, it's a little on the pricey side. The people who work there are really nice, and the inside seating is very cute. I'd definitely go back again. read more

We have used their catering several times. The amount of food is terrific for the money. Charlie was more than patient on the phone. Ordered by phone for 5pm pickup. It was ready right on time. Ordered a large pizza with three toppings. And another called the Motor City Madness Vintage Grand Prix Pizza. With mozzarella & provolone blend with Cup and Char pepperoni, Italian sausage, pepper medley, ricotta & basil, drizzled with Caliente Hot Honey. Detroit Style Only. Unfortunately it didn't have the ricotta, hot honey, cup and char pepperonis, or pepper medley! It was still delicious, but I was bummed out would have loved to try the real deal. I'm giving a five star cause everyone makes a mistake. This was on a very busy Saturday at the Crafton restaurant. Enjoyed! read more

I'm honestly very surprised to see the poor reviews here! We came in today for lunch and were seated quickly, but I do see how the front host stand could possibly be an issue at a busier time as it's small and there was not a dedicated host/hostess. The restaurant is pretty dimly lit and unassuming, and has a bit of a Cheers turned restaurant feel. We were lucky to have an attentive and sweet waitress who made sure to check on us and was never far from reach if we needed anything. As for the food, we got the Godzilla pizza, the buffalo chicken rolls, and the kid's cheese pizza which came with a little side salad. The pizza had just the right amount of everything and was pretty darn good. Our daughter only ate one slice of her pizza but upon leaving she said it was great and she can't wait to come back again. The buffalo chicken rolls needed a little more stuffing but were tasty. I also can't forget to mention the awesome beer list! All in all we had a good experience, and we're looking forward to coming back with the extended family soon. read more

Their pizza... DELICIOUS... Their hoagies... at least the meatball... I've had much better. Starting off with the Grandma Sunseri pizza. It's a thick crust topped with mozzarella, Provo, salami, sausage, black olives, banana peppers and fresh tomato sauce. It's a striped square pizza with crispy edges that tastes amazing. If I could be a little critical- I'd spread the sauce out more instead of real thin on the dough then a thick 'slice' down the middle. But hey- maybe the employees reserve that truck for themselves. The Meatball hoagie was bland, lacked any sort of flavor aside from the sparse sauce, the meatballs were a disappointing Sysco shade of gray meat, the sauce is the only thing that kept this thing from getting tossed and the cheese was very sparse. This thing didn't even look like it even went into the oven. Baking a hoagie is about the cheapest 'value enhancer' anyone could do w a sandwich and I hope they 'switch it up' and start to bake these ones... Now- to be honest... I got this order to-go. So it enjoyed an 18 minute ride home. But- that doesn't affect the hoagie one bit and the pizza- well- I'll be going back to try your other Grandma styles... So Caliente... I'll give you a chance at a 'Do Over'. Btw- the Caliente Pizza at PPG Paints is also DELICIOUS...! Go get you some...!!! read more

I'd give this place only one star for customer service but their food is so delicious that I'm bumping them to a 3. We went on Wednesday night and literally stood at the hostess stand for 7-8 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us. Then there was a 40 minute wait even though we could see empty tables. We ordered the Pineapple Express and it was sooooo good. Our waitress was busy but attentive. She did forget our son's dough ball that came with his kids meal. We didn't end up mentioning it because she seemed busy. Then, at the end of the night, there was a mix up with the bill & we were presented with one to sign that was a different amount than our receipt. Luckily, I caught the mistake. Hopefully it will show up correctly in my bank account too. We chatted with other patrons as well as the friends we had with us and the consensus was that they know how good their food is so they don't feel the need to try hard when it comes to service. read more

Oh this place deserves so much more stars than yelp is showing! We visited this place three times during our Pittsburgh trip. Service was good and food was delivered hot. Many specials to choose from each day. We enjoyed the wings - good size and meaty. Many choices of sauces. The pizzas - terrific! Again, many options for dough thickness and toppings! The appetizer pizza rolls were surprisingly light and tasty! The calzone was huge and passed the taste test with flying colors! It might look a little dark from the outside but give this place a chance! You won't regret it!! read more

My fiancé has been dying to try the pizza that was voted #1 pan pizza in the world, so Caliente has been on our list for awhile. The decor inside is your no frills pizza joint, with plenty of seating and an extensive menu (with more than just pizza), as well as many beer options. They were out of a few of the draft beers when we were there but had plenty of others to choose from. We ordered the Quack Attack and a small Betty White's Garden Pizza. While I don't think any pizza is really worth over $30, my fiancé enjoyed it. I really liked the white pizza I had, and their ranch dressing is amazing, too. I'd say the Quack Attack pizza was a one-time thing - cool to say we tried the best pizza in the world but not worth spending that much on a small pizza again. We would definitely come back, though, for some of the other options on the menu as the service was great and we enjoyed the variety of pizzas offered. read more

We ordered two pizzas, cheese fries, wings and a two liter of pop. We sent a friend to pick up the order on the way because delivery would have been over an hour (rather unacceptable on a Wednesday) The pizza was ok, but on the cold side. The wings arrived with barely any sauce on them. The cheese fries were cold and also had very little cheese. They didn't tell the person picking up to grab the soda out of the cooler. We called them to see if they could deliver fresh wings and fries as well as the missing soda, and the person on the phone reluctantly agreed. The on hold message is obnoxious and really annoying after it repeats multiple times. The girl answering the phone told me they normally don't deliver, but they could try their best if their driver was around. We waited nearly an hour an a half, and finally got sauces dropped on the front door. No wings, no fries, and no drink. I tried to flag down the delivery driver and he drove off causing me to fall and get hurt. We called back and after being hung up on, in addition to having a disagreement with the manager, they offered only 10% off the order. After some discussion, they agreed to take off the wings and the pop. (Total of the wings and pop was $25, 10% off was $6) It was very disappointing and we are not planning on returning even though the pizza is usually fairly good. read more
