Great Customer Service and great food came here as a teenager so I grow up eating here

This has usually been our favorite pizza place since we stumbled upon it last year, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I ordered about two days ago and spent around $65. Unfortunately, the food arrived very cold and tasted old. The pizza was very well done and didn't seem fresh at all. The wings were especially bad--the BBQ sauce was watery and were very hard. Too hard in fact for my family to even finish. Ohhh and the friessss-ugh you shouldn't even sell these to be perfectly honest. Overall, the meal just wasn't good. I didn't call the same day because I wasn't feeling well and my family started eating before I saw what was delivered, but I still wanted to share this experience because it's not the quality I'm used to from them. I really hope this was just an off day, because we've had great experiences here in the past. I'd love to see them get back to the standard that made us loyal customers. I also asked for plates and napkins which were options available on the menu and did not receive them. Also which I thought was very strange is that the delivery guy approached the door and then turned to leave when he heard music (the kids were having a 60 second dance party) and then didn't actually deliver the food until 5/10 minutes later. The entire experience is a 2/10. I highly doubt we will be ordering again for a long while. read more

Had some time to kill and was hungry. Walking by, it was convenient and it looked promising - clean and friendly. People were pleasant enough. Pizza was.. not so great. It kinda reminded me of a bad papa johns pizza. Chewy crust with no signs of crispness. Just very doughy. They also served it with some ranch dressing. Cheese on the pizza was a bit oily which usually means a low quality mutz. Am from the NY area and this place would never survive. They have zero clue how to run a website. It DOES NOT WORK with Mozilla Firefox. Have to use Microsoft Edge or the damn thing barely functions. Actually, it doesn't function. I got a pepperoni and sausage pizza, fries and popcorn chicken. The pizza was average. It's thin. They use small sausage bits which you can't see or even taste. 2-3 pieces of pepperoni per slice. It was also expensive at $23 for a large. The fries were also just average at $5.99. The popcorn chicken wasn't bad, though the pieces are very small and it cost around $7.50. This place is one of the few places open on holidays and there is a connecting parking lot so it does have parking. Would I go back? Yes, but only if there aren't other options. It probably would not make my Top 10 pizza places. read more

I came in at 6:45pm yesterday evening 12/27/23. I came in and ordered an entree salad for take out. The person at the register was on the phone and didn't acknowledge me at all for minutes. No eye contact, not a head nod, not even a finger indicating "one moment". He actually nodded off in the middle of the call and asked them to repeat what they were saying. Then I waited 20 minutes for a salad. This would be reasonable time if it involves cooking anything, but not the case here. None of the staff were in anyway friendly, and the place felt kinda "ick". But the entree salad was a nice size, and traveled well back to my stay at the family house. It was more than filling and it looked presentable. read more

This place is absolutely terrible. They can't even take an order for a sandwich correctly and don't even have the humility to make it right once it is brought to their attention - which I believe is the worst part. I've honestly tried to give them benefit of the doubt- but at this point, I'm convinced that they truly do not care about the customer experience or quality of food. I've ordered on multiple occasions, i.e. when it is busy, empty, late night, etc. And every time in go in there, I have trouble with getting my sandwich ordered correctly - which is their Smoked Turkey Deluxe without any bacon or provolone. When I visited the store yesterday, I ordered the same sandwich those modifications. Upon returning home, I noticed that there was cheese on the sandwich. First, I called back and the person at the counter tried to tell me that I didn't ask for the cheese to be removed. I maintained that I didn't because I'm lactose intolerant!! The person offered to make the sandwich again, which I agreed to. So, one could only imagine my dismay when I returned home and found that there was still cheese on the sandwich despite emphasizing no cheese when I called. At this point, I decided to chalk it up to a loss for both parties- me wasting the money on a sandwich and them with never seeing my business again. Because of this experience, I will be sure discourage my friends, colleagues, classmates, and neighbors from visiting this establishment because their practices are unacceptable. Again, try to give them the benefit of the doubt because I do believe in supporting local businesses - however, there needs to be some accountability. read more

I ordered a pizza and the driver delivered it to the wrong address so they did send out another one however the driver was mad and was very rude he became racist towards my son calling him the N word during a verbal exchange they were having with each other. Which made me extremely upset then top it off the second pizza was cold and not what we ordered the first time I was told I would get a refund which didn't happen so I take it that they are okay with the actions of the driver but to me this racism is unacceptable and something needs to be done. read more

Pizza is classic and delicious. Nothing fancy, but I think that's often better when it comes to pizza. The proportions are good - not too much cheese, not too thick crust. The sauce is flavorful and balanced. The pepperoni and mushroom toppings were tasty and a good combo. I eat these slices like lay's chips. read more

I'm a huge pizza guy. It's probably my favorite food. I eat it once or twice a week. I'm from Jersey so I'm used to slices in a case ready to eat. Not as easy to find in Pittsburgh. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of awesome pizza options in Pittsburgh. At Palermo, you can get by the slice! Check out my other reviews. I will say that Palermo is a little over priced but pretty tasty. But, their two slices and a soda for $7 is a great deal. Each topping is 50 extra cents. Veggie toppings are fresh! Looks like the pizza by the slice is made by using a cheese lock in reheated slices. Not a complaint, just an observation. The pizza itself has a pretty good sauce, crust, and cheese ration. Like a lot of Pittsburgh spots, the pizza is served with ranch dressing. Palermo is open late, and convenient. For what it is, it's a solid option. Especially when you're on the run and impulsive like me. read more

Here was my order: - 12 Honey BBQ Wings - half philly cheesesteak - half buffalo chicken hoagie - Pittsburgh salad Wings: Decent. Some were kinda on the small side. Sauce was about 90% BBQ and 10% honey. Wouldn't get again, especially for $12.99 for 12 wings. We got delivery from here the day after St. Paddy's as recovery food. We ended up getting a large meat lover's pizza, wings, and breadsticks. The food was just average. The pizza was actually soggy on the bottom, which is kind of a pet peeve of mine. The wings ended up being the best part of the meal so I may come back for those. Delivery driver was courteous and apologetic however my fiancé bit into a large piece of melted plastic on our white pizza. Pizza is good. But I had probably the worst meal I have ever ordered anywhere. The baked ziti is just extremely mushy plain pasta (not just overcooked but probably had been cooked then frozen) then topped with pizza sauce. No cheese in sight. Just mushy noodles with pizza sauce on top. read more

The first time I ordered from this place was with co-workers and I've seen the menus around the breakroom and previous orders from them before so I decided, "what the heck? Why not?" so we all pitched in. I kid you not, it took longer for us to get the order together than for them to deliver it. This was a group of 6-7 people ordering food here, not even 15 mins later the guy as in the lobby with the food????? I didn't even get a chance to pull money out. The icing on the cake was a piece of plastic a co-worker found in her pizza. Now, I have to admit that was nasty, but....I did end up ordering from there again. I'm a sucker for wings and their hot wings are pretty dang good. My experience with them is limited, but they seem like a good eatery and they know the group of workers in that building so maybe they just put a rush on our order at the time. This is one of the better pizza spots in Pittsburgh to order from. Their menu is so extensive that I am fairly sure that any one person in the city would be able to find something that will put their hunger at bay. I opted once for their fries with cheese and bacon on them. This falls under their appetizers portion of the menu, but honestly it could be a menu item all on its own. It is a healthy portion (that may sound oxymoronic) of fries. You get to pick the cheese you want those fries to be smothered in and then crumbled bacon tops that off. I almost always opt for the cheese sauce, that way I am guaranteed that the cheese makes its way to the bottom of the fries as well. When I first ordered this item, I made the mistake of ordering another item on the menu and I should have just stuck with the fries. They are more than enough. I have had an array of items from the menu, but the fries are what stuck with me. This may end up being my go to place when I can't decide what I want to snack on. Staff are polite when you order, if you get delivery they are quite speedy. One thing to know for delivery: $1 delivery fee. read more

What can I say, I love this place. It really should have a higher rating. It's your friendly neighborhood pizza place with affordable prices and tasty food. I probably order from here every two weeks. They have very solid pizzas, massive calzones, great pastas, house made marinara that tastes fresh with hearty tomato chunks, and reliable, fresh salads. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger today with a side of fries (with mozzarella and bacon) but they came with mozzarella only :(. I think sometimes there are items that don't come :(.
