One of my go to places for poke in Markham! They have a really nice variety of poke flavours. I'm pretty sure we've tried all of them now and they all taste delicious. I love that this place doesn't skimp on the toppings that go into their bowls. The portion is also decent as their regular sized poke bowl fills me up nicely and I can never finish the large! Staff here are always polite and work quickly to get your order filled. There's also a sit down area if you want to enjoy your poke bowl on the spot but I normally do take out. Wow! The poke bowls here are stacked and full of goodness. Lots of variety of toppings and the fish were fresh. We also tried the bowl with duck (forgot what it is named) and it was tasty as well. I have not had a lot of Poke in my life, but I know what I like, and I know what tastes good - and the Poke Box knows it too! Service was super friendly and helpful when it came to trying to decide what to order. With it being my first time, I asked for the most popular request and it was a great choice! I can see why it's so popular. The fish tasted firm and fresh, and the amount of food that I got was filling and kept me going through the afternoon without feeling sluggish and tired. There were only 3 tables and a long bar-top style seating area, so maybe don't plan on eating there with a group. I'm definitely adding this spot to my rotation - it was a tad pricey but to be honest, when you're getting the quality and quantity that you get here, it's worth it! read more

The bowl itself had ample amounts of salmon and tuna which were fresh. The seaweed salad on the corners were great. Avocado was ripe and fresh. The sushi rice on the bottom was well cooked not mushy. I enjoy eating poke bowls whenever I'm craving something fresh. I always opt for the poke bowl. Love how fresh their tuna and salmon are with just the perfect amount of shoyu. The edamame, corn and seaweed salad is a nice touch of texture on perfectly cooked rice. Love the bits of tamago and Kanu salad too. The only thing was trying to mix the box, because it was so packed! The takeout experience was great too. There are many options to preorder (food apps, their own website, phone), though I just ordered in store. It was made quickly and the staff made sure to check if my box was done the way I wanted, mainly relating to the finishing touch toppings. I liked how they had the boxes and their sizes displayed so everyone can gauge what would be ideal. There are patio chairs outside to enjoy your freshly made box - I went on a rainy day but I would certainly want to do that sometime. read more

She listened to all my substitutions and extras/addons I requested. For their signature boxes you can substitute one item for one. Otherwise it's extra charge, just ask and they will let you know. As you can see I asked fir extra extra onions and they did not disappoint!! Their salmon tasted nice and fresh or at least not old like other Pokebowl places that I've tried. The greens were nice and crunchy, definitely fresh as well! I love that they have tamago which I haven't had in a while. Tastes great too! Ordered this via UberEats around a month ago when they had a BOGO offer. I had the Poke Box while my brother had the Rip Tide bowl. Both were solid but needed some more sauce. Portion size was good; as we did BOGO the bowl came out to around $10 each, which was great value for the bowl. At original price, I wouldn't pay ~$16 for this, as there are better options out there in terms of flavour. There was an ample amount of salmon and tuna in my bowl, but the fish wasn't as fresh as I've had elsewhere; it leaned towards being a bit chewy. Sauce was okay but there wasn't even close to being enough of it; about halfway in I ran out of sauce and had to mix my own, different, sauce to add in on the side. Definitely not something I want to do again since one main point of eating out is to not have to cook. Sauce also seemed like it wasn't creamy/thick enough, so I didn't feel it added much flavour to the bowl. All other toppings were good and went well with the bowl. Rice was fresh and had enough rice vinegar in it. All in all a decent bowl, but nothing I'd go back for at the original price of $16. The ingredients and all are great, but sauce fails to bring this bowl from "good, I guess I will eat it" to "great, I'll come back for more", which often happens with poke places. Last Friday, I did some browsing in my Uber Eats app and spotted The Poke Box. It was offering a deal where you buy one poke box (the big crunch) and you get a second one for free. The big crunch consists of tempura shrimp, cucumber, cabbage, red pepper, crab salad, spicy mayo, waikiki mayo, green onion, fish roe, and sesame seeds. It comes with sushi rice in this BOGO deal, which you couldn't customize. Although I am more of a mixed greens person when it comes to poke meals, I decided to give this deal a shot. It was an $18 savings, which was crazy! I scheduled my order for pickup at 5:30 pm last Saturday. It gave me enough time driving over here from running errands in Mississauga. I actually showed up five minutes earlier than I had expected. The Poke Box is tucked into a corner of a plaza that I used to frequent often. I used to get Portuguese egg tarts from Michael-Angelo's before it closed down and became LA Fitness. I also ate at Teriyaki Experience a few doors down. I am pleased that it's still around. There was lots of parking when I got here. When the notification came in that my order was ready, I got out of my parked car and walked into the eatery. There was a couple in front of me. A nice man knew who I was and had my order ready. Nice! I took photos of the interior like the tourist that I can be in my own city. He asked whether I wanted more sauces with my meals. It was such a kind gesture. I said that I was fine (I didn't know how much sauce was included in my meals to begin with) and wished him a pleasant evening. He reciprocated. I got home and placed one order in the fridge to eat the next day. I then went ahead and had the other box for dinner. Let's start with what it's called the big crunch. There is no escape when you take a bite of the tempura shrimp. It's lightly battered, but is incredibly crunchy and delicious. Each one was so fresh, as were all ingredients in the meal. It was tasty, right down to the sushi rice that I normally don't get. The flavours married nicely. I loved the crab salad. So good! You get a lot of food in this poke box. I was stuffed and in a carb coma when I was done. I had the second poke box the following day. Even a day later, the tempura shrimp tasted so fresh and yummy. No sogginess. It had more flavour. I was impressed. The deal is now over. I have found a cool poke place that I love. I will return and switch out the sushi rice for either mixed greens or zucchini noodles. I'm not a huge squash eater, but I don't mind zucchini noodles these days. It's refreshing to low-carb options. I am impressed with this place. I have no idea how long it has been kicking around or what this establishment was previously, but I am so glad that there are more poke options in Markham. (445) read more

I ordered the Big Umami on greens in the size small and was surprised at how filling it was for me! The ingredients were fresh and the whole combination together was very tasty and a healthy lunch option! If you turn into the LA Fitness you can get to the restaurant through the same parking lot. The lot for the LA FItness is kind of separated so you don't have to fight with the gym goers for space. There was only one person ahead of us when we got there. Imagine our surprise when we had to wait for numerous UberEats and other delivery orders to be completed before we were served :(. The employee did apologize for the wait but it was disappointing that customers dropping in were lower priority than the pickup orders. The poke bowls here come in two different sizes - regular and large. They seem to be more reasonably priced than other poke places at around $12 - $14 before tax. There are a ton of preset options that help with dietary restrictions (gluten-free or veggie) and ones that are themed (spicy, umami based, etc). read more

Overall 4.5/5. Will come back and get their poke, hence the 5 over the 4 star rating. Great service, fast and convenient. Good selection on the menu. Reasonable price for the portions. I opted for the bowl that came with duck and shrimp tempura, which I enjoyed overall and will give it a solid 4.5/5. Good duck meat and smoked meat flavour. Probably not made in house but at least the one they chose was well seasoned. The shrimp tempura, which is not your classically light and airy version from japanese restaurants, was surprisingly still enjoyable. After an hour even, the batter was still crispy, had a good taste of saltiness to it but not overly seasoned, and the shrimp inside was decent in size. The pairing with mandarin went well with the duck, and the other pairings were complementary to everything. Can use a bit more toppings overall, but I think its a nice and balanced bowl for poke. I wish there was an option for 3.5 stars. We ordered the Umami and Aloha bowls. Generous amount of toppings and large portion size, which I struggled to finish even with a large appetite. The reasons why I knocked off a few stars from this poke joint are: 1. Sushi rice was cold. Wish it was at least room temperature. 2. The topping combinations and selections could be better in comparison to other poke places I have been to in the GTA. For example, real mango pieces would be better than the sauce, which I hardly taste as the real mango pieces would be a nice palate cleanser to the topping combination. 3. Both of the bowls lacked the sauces so in the end they tasted almost alike. 4. Some of the pieces of fish was stringy. Would I come back? Maybe, for their later hours. Are there better places? Yes. P.S. Not a part of the review but....Also got a can of iced coffee, which only contained 10% kona coffee. Don't recommend it, as it tastes like watered down Vietnamese ice coffee.
