Signature cup cake! It was delicious!
    Miranda C.

You HAVE to visit the pink box! This bakery is tucked away in the back of the Harbour view marketplace (close to the theater and cold stone).. When you walk in, it's bright, clean and very well organized. This delicious little sweet haven is proudly a black, woman owned business! Ms. Gwen & her employees are absolutely the nicest most customer oriented around. I came in for a Yelp event & after getting a taste, I was eager to have MORE so I came back to purchase more. Her cupcakes are so moist & fresh! There is no artificial taste, only natural blissful flavors. The strawberry cupcake had a creamy yummy jam type consistency hidden in the middle, that just made the flavor profile EXPLODE. The caramel cupcake was the perfect balance of sweet and savory! I love when you have a sweet topping & the cake isn't overly worked with sugar! NAILED IT. Their signature pink iced cupcake also did not disappoint. I consider myself a cake type dessert lover but honestly Gwen has switched me over to puddings! Her banana pudding was a taste of PURE HEAVEN. It had the right amount of creamy, crunch and did not feel heavy like banana pudding can tend to be! I'm actually planning another trip back this week to purchase a couple. Last but certainly not least, the homemade pink lemonade was so refreshing & really hit the spot after a variety of sweets. Suffolk is a little far from my house in Hampton but after speaking with Gwen, she says they spotlight at the farmers market in Yorktown so both sides of the water can truly indulge! DO NOT MISS OUT on The Pink Box- these ladies are incredible & such good people. Support local & tell them I sent you! Thank you so much Pink Box.

Salted caramel, chocolate, red velvet, lemon (delivered through 3rd party which is why the toppings are messed up, no fault of the bakery)

My fiancé had these delivered to our apartment after finding the bakery on Yelp so I can only comment on the cupcakes themselves. Unfortunately, the delivery service was poor so the cupcakes were flipped over by the time we opened the box, no fault of the bakery though. The cupcakes were tasty! I really enjoyed the moist cake and the flavors of each cupcake (chocolate, caramel, red velvet, lemon). My favorite was probably the salted caramel because it was a subtle taste. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the icing because it was too sugary/sweet for my taste. I look forward to going to the bakery and trying out the cupcakes there!

We ordered two cupcakes, one being the Strawberry delight and the other Red Velvet. The Strawberry delight has a strawberry-like filling. They both tasted very good! The service was Ok. We reallyyyyy loved the decor of the place. It was also very clean and nicely set up. Overall rating 4.3 . Go check them out! Follow our social media platforms for more content @Brunchbabez757

Very dry, like it's either older or overbaked.

Went in expecting a moist delicious Cupcake, with the tart lavor of lemon curd inside, sadly I was disappointed. My first visit and my last, decided to try 1 lemon cupcake, and was told there was lemon curd inside. Initial disappointment came when I opened the box, the cupcake was not the same sizes as the ones in the display case, as the cake portion was much smaller & hidden under alot of frosting. The display case had cupcakes with the cake above the level of cupcake paper, peeking out feom under a smaller amount of frosting all the way around. Mine did not, exactly opposite with cake well below the level of paper and a load of frosting in attempt to try and make the cupcake look bigger than it was. Taste was decent, a little tart like lemon curd may have been used in the batter, BUT there was no lemon curd inside or on top of this cupcake-as you can see in photos. Texture was VERY DRY, literally tasted like a cupcake that was either older or overbaked. Definitely NOT worth $3.50 plus tax for this cupcake, making it $3.94! I can and have made much better cupcakes at home, and was expecting so much more from a cupcake shop that specializes in them.

Vanilla Bean, Key Lime, Cookies n Creme. Simply the best!

These cupcakes are well presented in the shop with a no worries electronic check out if you so choose. I bought four but they didn't all make it to the shoot, "One simply must have dessert after a meal." The cupcakes were well balanced in flavor, with the icing complimenting the cakes. The cakes were soft and moist even the one I had with filling was well balanced. Hands down the best cupcakes I've ever eaten.

If you're looking for a cupcake with great frosting look no further, The Pink Box is good and the customer service was awesome! The reason I give them 4 stars is because when we got our cupcakes the frosting tasted like it had been sitting out a while. I ordered. Cookies n' Cream, Strawberry Lemonade, Salted Caramel, Strawberry, Fruity Pebbles, and Red Velvet cupcakes. My favorite was the Salted Caramel and Strawberry Lemonade one. However, in terms of freshness, I wouldn't say they're the best but the girl working there was awesome! I signed up for a rewards account with them and it said the 10% was applied but the thing didn't apply at checkout so after leaving, she called and informed me that the discount was not applied and said that next time she would give us a free cupcake. I would return if in the area again!

    Cinnamon roll cupcake
    Charmaine B.

So I kinda have mixed feelings about this place... I ordered curbside pickup, and I tried the cinnamon roll cupcake. I was a little disappointed with the size of the cupcake. It was a bit on the smaller side compared to most cupcake places I've been to, and costs just as much and a little higher. I was also a little disappointed with how the cupcake was decorated. It was just plain icing, no special touches or decorations. I have seen some better decorated ones online, so I wonder if I just got unlucky with this one. Idk but it looked as if I could have made at home, which sucked. But besides that the flavors were very good. The icing had a good amount of sweetness; not overpowering. And it did taste like a cinnamon roll. And the associate that served me was polite. The only other sad part about the experience was the cupcake definitely didn't taste fresh. It tasted like it was made maybe a day or two before. So Im still fighting with myself, I'm not sure if I'll come back.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon after church and ordered the chicken salad sandwich (Freemason). Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving. When the weather's nice, I always try to grab a seat on the patio. It's such a relaxing spot to enjoy a good meal and soak up a little sunshine. Also, I have to shout out their potato salad is one of the best around. Creamy, just the right amount of seasoning, and always hits the spot. Based on visits over the past 5 years, which have been spaced further and further apart, I was hesitant. And my hesitancy proved to have been warranted. Husband's Northender on Multi grain My Princess Anne also on multi grain. Bread was so dry and stale that I simply struggled to eat the filling. The tomatoes were that hard, white inner core that most people would not feature on a sandwich. Finally in frustration I walked up and asked for a slice of baguette, which was the main meal's only redemption. Let's not even talk about what has become barely a step up from snack pack desserts. Both my (Bakehouse--oh my gosh, are they kidding?) gold brownie and my husband's blueberry mishmash had one bite from them before they too went straight into the trash. (Both tasted more of chemical, than of food) Sadly, what used to be one of our favorite weekly visits pre-Covid, has become less than lackluster, and far from its name. Rather it should be renamed yet again, from the original, Taste Unlimited, to Taste and now should be called, Tasteless. For the price of $50, one would think the meal would at least be edible. Hopefully this review will help me remember why we stopped going. Definitely do not recommend.

I have been to this location on a number of different occasions. They often change the flavors of their signature bundtlets every so often to keep you wondering what the next flavor may be. They currently have s'mores but they sell out so quickly so if you really want some flavors you may have to come quite early in the day after they open for business!. The younger gentleman in the store was very polite and answered every question with overwhelming confidence and enthusiasm, that is almost felt like he rehearsed his lines before his shift!. Of course I am joking about rehearsing his lines, but seriously he was top tier in customer service!. You walk in and you see the open flow of the store immediately after walking in. As well of the smell of fresh baking going on in the back!. Everything is clean and always looks great, spotless clears so you don't see any dust particles or any other debris laying around. What you do see is different cake displays behind the clear glass with many options to choose from ( other than some of the popular cakes that are featured)!!.. Banana pudding is the latest flavor that has come out for a limited time, so if you're interested you may have to make your way to your nearest location before they're all sold out for the day!!... I left one star off because if you're advertising certain products and you are selling out before the end of a business day, then you supply should be plentiful.. remember it's based on my opinion at the time of the review!!..

It's restaurant week in Suffolk and sadly it ends today. We…read moretried to dine at another restaurant featured this week, but they ran out of all our choices... bummer. Nevertheless, Da'Lish to the rescue, and they did not disappoint! I heard of this place, and had it on my radar to try. It's only been open a few months now, but seeing the menu, this place is tempting. Well the wait is over, yesterday, my mother and I dined her for a late lunch and everything was on point. Our server, Rachelle (spelling maybe off) was friendly and greeted us immediately. My mother and I already knew our purpose... dine her for restaurant week so we selected items from the three course menu. We both had the 15 bean soup. Main dish - my mom had the pulled chicken and ribs - myself - the strawberry salad with salmon. Dessert - they were sold out of the cobbler, it was peach. Therefore, the only other option was cheesecake. However, we could choose our drizzle. Carmel for me and raspberry for my mom. My mom enjoyed every bite of her meal. With me... while I enjoyed my meal, I was a little disappointed in the salad. I did ask the contents and it was missed that onions are in the salad... yuck! I do not like raw onions. I did my best to eat around them and overall it was good, but I much would have loved it without the red onions. I asked to have my salmon blackened and they were able to deliver! My salmon was super tasty! I did eat a few strawberries, nuts and spinach leaves. I did try ribs and pulled chicken and both were tasty! My mom loved the toast that came with the meal. She even asked for more. The soup was flavorful and we wanted more, but kept it cute. The owner Dennis came out to talk with us and he was an absolute pleasure. I read the story on the menu - it was a good read. So I had an idea who the guy was when he walked out. Easy to talk to and he said he is the cook also! We definitely complimented him on everything. I even mentioned I wanted to try the jalapeno jerky he mentioned in the write up and to my surprise he had some for me to try! Da'Lish!!! I love jalapenos!! And this jerky had the spice and a hint of sweetness. An awesome combination!!! I highly recommend you stop in and dine because this hidden treasure is sure to delight you. From starters to dessert, definitely come to Suffolk and check them out. I understand they offer brunch on Sundays only from 9am to 2pm. I think I just might come here again very soon. The hospitality and food - they have what it takes! Wishing you all the best! Da'Lish it is!! Plenty of parking as this restaurant is located inside the Suffolk Cultural Arts building. Not hard to find at all. Come for a real treat! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. You can sit at a 2 or 4 person table and bar seating is available as well. Outdoor dining is an option too!
