    Chicken pie, gravy, mushy peas.
    Chris U.

Fantastic place for a hearty, quick and delicious bite. 10 Euro for a great quality pie, a side and a craft beer is ridiculous. We had the Beef and Guinness, as well as the Chicken and Stuffing pie - both with gravy, both with mushy peas. Excellent fillings, great crust and tasty gravy. It was perfect for a late afternoon snack. I should note that the owner is a great guy. Very welcoming, good sense of humor, likes to engage you without overwhelming you. It was cold and rainy and he offered us a free cup of tea or coffee before heading out, which we politely declined. If I lived in Dublin, I'd be visiting often. I highly recommend skipping 95% of the junk in Temple Bar and head right over here for a great meal.

The rumors are true about the beef and Guinness pie here. It's delicious and filling! There was plenty of seating here and the pie came out quickly and was piping hot. Would definitely come back.

    Look at all that deliciousness

Oh gosh! Pieman Cafe, you own my stomach. It's been a loooong lonely time since I last had Pies that tasted so good!!! I especially love and am super grateful for the under €10 deal, which got me a substantial pie, a side and a drink! Well priced and good food in the bargain! Plus if you are a student, and show them ID, that same deal cost you €6! The pies can be warmed up to eaten in-store or u can take them frozen to warm up later. I came here 3 times and each time, the staff were super lovely. I also liked the collaboration as the artwork on their walls came from the Jam Art Factory store next-door. I tried the following pies: 1. Chicken & Mushroom - deliciousness! Loved the sauce. Perfect amount of protein to the mushrooms. Tasted earthy, due to the mushrooms 2. Chicken, leeks, & cheese - brilliant! Lots of veggies along with the chicken and the cheese sauce definitely made a difference in taste from their other chicken option. 3. Chicken & sausage - this was good taste, but the sausage was definitely overwhelming the chicken. No veggies in this one. 4. Sweet potatoes & feta - great blend of the main ingredients meant that the sweet and salt elements were perfectly balanced. Liked this very much. Btw, recommend getting the vegetarian gravy for the pies on the side. It tastes deliciously cheesy and tangy and comes in this cute little dish. For the sides, I tried: 1. Dill potato salad - was okay. Wouldn't get this again. The dressing used wasn't too my taste. Felt the flavor was missing something (maybe a pinch of saltiness?) 2. Purple slaw - one of my faves! And I'm not normally a slaw person, but this had purple cabbage, red onion, parsley and shredded carrot in a great light mayo. 3. Lentil pastry - decent, but felt like was eating a stuffed dal paratha which is too much like an Indian dish. Not too my taste. 4. Carrot & Coconut soup - had to pay €5 for this, but it's substantial size and another of my faves! If you get this, just order one of the smaller pastry items rather than a pie, as it gets to be too much food. The soup tasted wonderfully hearty, with just a pinch of curry by beautiful coconut and veggie flavors (the carrot taste which can get too sweet, was not very obvious, actually) and would absolutely get this dish again. Thru also serve pretty decent coffee. Also, the etiquette for this shop is to make your selection, pay and then they"ll bring the old out to you. Am a totally fan of this place and would recommend visitors to the Temple Bar area to absolutely come and get a pie from here! Yelp 96/ 2018

Steak and Guinness pie with gravy and mashed potatoes
    Lauren G.

Strolling around Temple Bar alone, I wanted a hearty Irish meal to make up for all the calories I'd burned walking around Dublin. I found Pieman. It was tiny, and it looked cute. They had different pies and mashed potatoes or mushy peas. I opted for the Steak and Guinness pie with mashed potatoes and gravy. I couldn't even finish it, and it was a little heavy handed on the gravy, but it was one of my most memorable meals in Dublin.

Cute cafe. I had the Beef and Guinness pie. It had a few chunks of beef and vegetables. While it was on the small side, it had great flavors. € 6 If you are in the Temple Bar area, this is a good place for a quick lunch.

Adorable little savory pie shop in a little alley tucked away from the busy Main Street. There are park bench like tables inside.

Perfect combination... Steak and Guinness pie, roast potatoes and craft beer! *burp*

€10 for a pie, side and craft beer - proper deal innit! Loved the beef and Guinness pie + roasties all soaking up the delicious gravy. Paired with 8 Degrees Howling Gale, perfect cheap meal out in Temple Bar! Mikey was not as impressed with the chorizo and chilli beef pie as it was quite dry, so choose your pie wisely! Oh and they serve it on hot plates now too (probably after Cristin's review!), so your food stays warm for the entire meal :-)

This cafe had the best pies for the best price! The gravy was so flavorful without being super salt. We got the Guinness and gravy which was to die for, and the chicken and leek which was awesome as well. Pay attention to the student discounts and definitely order the mashed potatoes!

    Pork apple dijon
    Jennie C.

We got the pork/apple/dijon pie with mash and gravy on the side. Yum! If you order something that's not under the heat lamp you'll have to wait 15 minutes or so. The person behind the counter was really helpful though and gave us updates '5 more minutes! almost done!' so it wasn't too bad. They have a bunch of other options which I definitely want to come back and try. Beef and Guinness? Yes please!

Amazing pies, really delisious. Cafe is little bit tiny but cozy and food is really good.

    Soo good get both sides

I came here last time I was in Dublin, and I just had to come again. Service is always spot on. The food deal (esp if you're a student) is great! Pies and sides are so tasty. Love this shop! So cute! And it has WiFi!

    Beef and Guinness!

If there was a picture in the dictionary beside the phrase 'Comfort Food' it would be of a pie and mash, I'm sure of it! The Pieman Cafe is located in Temple Bar, right across from Burdock's. It's a small cafe, so wouldn't hold a lot of people but I've never seen it overly packed! It opens until 10pm most nights too...perfect if you're looking for some good, casual dining without having to worry about reservations or time constraints. I had the Beef and Guinness pie with mash and gravy and it was really nice. We were in there quite late in the evening so the pastry was slightly overdone but it still tasted really good. They also have a nice little selection of craft beers, perfect with a pie! And the price? Pie, side and beer for €10.50, seriously good value. Let's be honest, who doesn't love a good pie?

Lots of tasty flavours to choose from
    Kevin C.

I was in the mood for some hearty, comfort food and I figured a good aul fashioned PIE would hit the spot. Well this definitely hit the spot! They had about 5 or 6 different flavours to choose from when I was in. I originally went for a chilli and chorizo pie purely because it seemed like something different. The person ahead of me had just bought the last one, but not to worry, I went with my second pick of Beef and Guinness pie and boy, am I glad I did. The crust was buttery, crumbly but not too dry. The Guinness sauce had a lovely richness to it and the beef simply melted in my mouth. I am going to nitpick slightly though and say I would have liked maybe a little more beef in the pie. I have a pretty big appetite, so I couldn't imagine it keep me full for long. For only €6 though it was worth it for the flavour alone. All in all, it served me well as a tasty little supper (I accompanied it with Burdocks chips!). If you're looking for tasty, homemade comfort food, I'd imagine The Pieman Cafe is the place to go. You'll get a yummy little pie, mashed potato or mushy peas, all covered in gravy and with a drink to boot for around a tenner. You really can't go wrong here!

    Venison and veg pie!

My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For me it was a 4, but I'm sure for some it would bop up to a 5.
