I've been a patient here since 2021, attending sessions twice a week on and off. Unfortunately, my recent experience was extremely disappointing. When I called around 10:30 AM to refer my husband and reschedule my appointment, the office manager, Sara, was rude and said, "I'm done talking to you or myself, I have another patient on the line and I'll call you back." She never called back. Hours later, I called back and spoke with the guy front desk explained why I wanted to cancel all my appointments, and was met with zero empathy--just a quick cancellation like I was a number. No one followed up to apologize or make things right, which is shocking given my loyalty over the years. As an office manager, Sara should know how to treat long-term patients with respect and professionalism. I've since taken my business elsewhere, where patients are truly valued. Poor customer service like this will only cause them to lose more business. read more

First I'll say how awesome this place is and tell you why it's 4 stars and not 5. Simply, it's too loud when you're trying to relax. They have highly trained staff for PT along with a full gym. Occasionally when you're supine trying to zen out, someone will crank the tunes to pump iron or work out. I get it. I like to blast music and rev up when I'm working out. I have been receiving physical with Brent at the Physical Edge for an ankle fracture. I have been nothing but happy with his care. He is knowledgeable and detailed-oriented as he designed my exercise regimen for my serious fractures. As I struggled to walk property with my foot still hurting, he recognized what I was doing wrong immediately and helped me correct the problem. When I told him I play golf, he came up with exercises that would help me balance on my injured left ankle. He even got his own club out of his car so I could practice my swing and balance. That was a really important exercise for me, as I was wondering if I could ever get back to normal on the golf course. He was always positive and reassuring that I will regain my old form, and he has helped me accomplish that. I would highly recommend him! read more

Brian C. (my PT) and Bryan G. (my trainer) are first-rate! I can't say enough positive things about my experience. I went from a debilitating back injury to being the strongest that I have ever been. They are both incredibly knowledgeable, trustworthy, and delightful to be around. I am so glad that I decided to continue with personal training after successfully completing PT. The workouts with Bryan are different every time but with common elements that helped me regain cardio conditioning and a new level of strength without worry that I would reinjure my back. As a lifelong runner but without strength training experience, I have noticed major gains in my power up hills. My overall functional strength is far better. Great facility & staff. I had been in need of PT for a few minor issues for a few years. The staff/front desk is great & welcoming. The physical therapist, Brent, does a great job and took time to listen, understand and explain each injury, as well as each exercise and how each muscle/joint/tendon is working together to understand the big picture and heal over time. I was worried that one minor injury from many years ago was more serious, but within a few sessions I had relief that I had not experienced in many years. I am continuing to do exercises on my own and visit 1-2 times a week, and am putting in the time following their advice to see results. I would definitely recommend this business. read more

I did a wide search to find this place and I had to stick with my gut feeling. After reading review after review on Yelp of other physical therapy businesses, I chose this one. Choosing a physical therapy business is not as easy as finding a local restaurant on Yelp. I am very glad I stuck with my gut instinct and decided to go here. After my accident in June 2019 when someone rear-ended me, I hadn't worked out since May 2019. I went from working out frequently and playing softball to literally doing nothing because I no longer could do what I loved to do. My back was in bad shape, I have three slipped discs in my neck and I have a torn tendon and ligaments in my elbow. From the weight gain, lack of strength and the inability to do what I once was able to do really got me down. I tried so many methods to try to get back to normal. I have tried shockwave therapy, TEMS, chiropractor, acupuncture and others, and I still haven't gotten to where I used to be, or even close. I finally bit the bullet and paid for the $1,000+ platelet rich plasma shot, which led me to search for a solid physical therapist. I am very glad I was paired with Kathy Wilcox. She initially did my consultation on Monday, which evaluated my strength and compared the difference between my left arm and right arm. I was able to do my first physical therapy appointment with Kathy this Thursday, unfortunately due to the COVID-19 virus going around, I will be unable to continue my treatment until we are no longer on lockdown. I am confident with Kathy's expertise and guidance that I will be able to at least be close to what I once was at. To those individuals who haven't taken the first step to find a physical therapist or who are tired of not getting the results they want, I know it is hard and it is very difficult to accept where you are currently at physically, but I rest assure you by choosing The Physical Edge that your health is in good hands. You will be taken care of by well-educated, enthusiastic and passionate physical therapists. I have family in the medical field ranging from doctors and nurse practitioners and they have always told me the top physical therapists come from USC, even my doctor told me to search for a physical therapist from USC. They only care about money. After I made an appointment and went they told me they cancelled the appointment because they had not have enough time to contact my insurance. The owner is very rude does not care about the patient only about $$$$$ After they had enough time to contact my insurance and found it was ok I had to reschedule a new appointment . When you go, you are seen by a student that tell you to do an exercise and leaves, no one cares if you are doing the exercise correctly or not, the physical therapist is too busy to watch what you do, they just see you 5 minutes before you leave to know what to write on their paperwork for billing purposes. They have cheap labor (the students) running the show in a very bad manner and they bill your insurances for a physical therapist read more

I have been going to TPE since Fall 2015. I began first in Physical Therapy with Leigh who is fantastic!!! I suffer from stress caused TMJ issues and neck spasms left me debilitated to the point where I could not drive or function well in everyday life because I had lost mobility in my neck. Leigh after several months got me squared away and eventually graduated me full time to the Fitness side of TPE. That's when I started working with Aaron Martinez, one of the fitness coaches. And since I started with him in February 2016, I have seen such results! Not only am I stronger, but the exertion keeps my TMJ issues under control. And not to mention I have lost body fat, I have abs again, and my legs are starting to look the best they have in a long time. So... yay!!! And the staff are all really friendly and lovely. And they are such patient schedulers with us people with crazy busy lives! So I really love it here. I came here for about 3-4 months or so to rehabilitate my knee and ankle after having surgery on my knee. When I first got there, I was on crutches and could put no weight on my bad leg. I was paired with Tracy who was my main trainer. Later I also worked a lot with Alfonso "Fonzi". Both of these individuals are directly responsible for getting me closer to where I was before my surgery. They were supportive, encouraging, funny, pushy when I needed it, and overall, they helped me through a very hard time in my life. Shortly after working with them I was able to get back to driving and eventually back to work and life as somewhat normal. The whole team there is great. I would always see young athletes training too. It's not the biggest place, but it's a place full of good people who are encouraging and who care. read more

I was going to another facility in Arcadia that has a great staff but my recovery was not progressing they way I thought it should. I went to my primary care physician, the AMAZING Dr. Shadiar Ohadi in Burbank who also thought my progression was slow plus found I had other issues. She referred me to Leigh Dannhausen at THE PHYSICAL EDGE and she is just as AMAZING as the doctor who referred me to her. From the first visit she was friendly and knowledgeable plus pinpointed my problem area and had a plan of action. All the therapists know you by name and your condition if you go from one therapist to another, ahead of time. That extra effort is something so simple yet you don't see in other places. I had a group session with 3 other people, and this guys took our individual needs and created the best routine for us. My favorite part was the last 5 min of the workout. Walter took this time to incorporate "mobility" exercises. These workouts are made as an added bonus to help you in everyday life activities!! I am so grateful to my Sports Medicine Doctor for referring me to Mike! He is amazing and I am confident that I will be running again in no time. My Doctor sent me for physical therapy as a result of pain in my knees. I've only been for treatment a handful of times but after each visit I leave pain free, feeling stronger and with a better understanding of what I need to do to strengthen my legs and avoid injury. Kyle is also wonderful to work with and always encouraging. The facility itself is always clean, and the staff as a whole are very friendly. This is the review after three months of therapy. My daughter did her therapy with Angie, she is the best!! I actually have to say everyone who was involved in my daughter's therapy was exceptional, I do not have any complaints. They all were very attentive on what she needed and also were very good at giving homework to speed up her healing. Today is our last day and we are happy because that means she's healed but at the same time we're sad because we won't see all the wonderful people here at the Physical Edge. The front desk girls are very nice and welcoming especially Andrea, she is great at helping you to look up days and times that work for your schedule. I've been treated at Physical Edge for several injuries and have had nothing but excellent treatment. The staff is very friendly and caring. Leigh is the best physical therapist I've ever worked with. After being treated and 'fixed' by her, I feel like other therapists are just a waste if time. She is so smart and intuitive with peoples bodies and really engages in the treatment and treatment plan. Leigh doesn't just go through the motions of pre determined 'rehab' exercises and trestment. This place is the worst. As a seasoned athlete and coach I would never recommend them to this place. I was charged over 200 for a 10-15 min session and spent the bulk of my hour with an aide. When I confronted management, the owner implied that I was lying and that my account of the visits were inaccurate. In addition he falsely informed me of how the billing process is out of his hands. Not to mention the unprofessionalism of a particular trainer and his harassment of me while I was a patient there. read more

The Physical Edge is truly a positive place to get faster, get stronger, and get fixed up! Since being a member for over 2 years--and being a 6 year triathlete--I've become less prone to injury and have learned so much about my body and its capabilities. Since being a member, I've been able to complete a plethora of races to include a 6th place finish in the Newport Triathlon and cutting 10 minutes in my Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon finish time compared to my previous attempt at the race. All the staff and members are fun, positive, exciting, and personable. They've been kind enough to give me observation hours for my physical therapy school applications, helped me with a courtesy physical therpay session when I was injured and unable to train, and I like giving the fun personal trainers a hard time. lol (j/k) i've participated in many of their supporting of the community in the arcadia, duarte, and monrovia area. They're support for other small businesses have helped my family to enjoy quaint and fun corners in the community. I can't stop raving about this place.
