i was in DC visiting this weekend but had passed by a The Pembroke heading to a speakeasy nearby on a prior trip. The ambiance just passing by had exterior allure so I was excited to try this restaurant on this visit. Manny our server this experience was also the mixologist for the bar. Manny was so inviting and mad cool. He offered great recommendations and was able to "take a hit" when I went in I went in the total opposite direction. LOL We had the octopus and the levain bread as apps and it was substantial so divine i failed to capture a pic. We had the filet and the pesto based pasta for dinner and they both literally top 3 meals ever. Finished with the bundt cake accented with coffee ice cream and I would literally eat that dessert daily.. Moist with a bottom so most it was almost caramelized . manny , the music , the cocktails, the meal, the lighting,... nothing could've made this experience better except having more time to enjoy it. looking forward to a return soon

I stay here whenever business brings me to DC. It's small and very welcoming. I like the rooms which have nice amenities like espresso machines, heated bathroom floors, robes and slippers, bottled water, and nightly turn down service. The location is great and surrounded by excellent restaurants. I always enjoy my stay here.

I had a great experience at this hotel. The suites are really nice so if you can get a suite, I would do it. I really liked the terrace/balcony. It was a pretty decent size and the view of DuPont Circle was amazing from the terrace. The bathtub was also nice and relaxing and the heated floor tiles in the bathroom was definitely a plus. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back here.

THE GOOD NEWS: This hotel is in an EXCELLENT location (10/10, A+++). Just steps away from Krispy Kreme, and right near a Metro subway stop. Our room (on the 8th floor) was clean, quiet, and relatively comfortable. The bathroom floor was heated, which was really nice. The TV was huge, of very good picture quality, and we were able to wirelessly mirror our mobile devices to the TV without any cables. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were brought a small refrigerator and a fan, both at no additional cost. THE BAD NEWS: For a supposed 5-star hotel, the layout and design of the entire bathroom area was VERY poorly executed. The only area that had any sort of "privacy" was the toilet and shower (the entire sink area is right out in the open, so if you're laying in bed, you see EVERYTHING going on there). If anyone was sitting on the toilet, you had no choice but to see their silhouette through the frosted glass (which had a huge more than 1/2" gap between the two panes, by the way). Which means if you're there with a friend, co-worker, or anyone you're not intimate with, you'll see a lot more than you want to see. The shower design was terrible. The lack of a completely enclosed shower means the floor is gonna get SOAKED no matter how careful you are. And you're gonna get bombarded with freezing cold water as soon as you turn it on, as there's no way to turn the faucet unless you're standing right underneath the shower head. But the temperature and pressure were OK. We were told our room had a "courtyard view". Well, take a look at the so-called courtyard view in the photos below. This wasn't a really big deal, as we were there to see the rest of DC (which is beautiful), but still. The minibar was super expensive (as you'd expect), but the lobby was very nice, and again - the staff were friendly and very helpful. But no matter what, I still can't get past the terrible design and layout of the bathroom area.

Incident report form stating the hotel's valet driver crashed my car.

The hotel experience was positive but the valet parking was not. Their valet driver crashed my rental car while parking it. After going back and forth through car insurance companies, they apparently did not have coverage at the time of the accident. Now they are refusing to pay the claim and are putting the responsibility on me. This accident happened in November of last year. For such a prestigious hotel, you'd think they would vet the parking company or at least verify they have insurance coverage before trusting their valet employees to park guests' cars. I attempted to call the hotel directly to address this issue and the line disconnected multiple times.

Corned Beef Hash with eggs, this brunch was amazing!

Holy Moley! This truly was a 5 star Yelp meal. My wife and I stayed in the hotel and the hotel said please consider joining us for brunch. I figured, what can they do to eggs? We're seated in a beautiful restaurant. It's a large glass enclosed space. The visuals both inside and outside are very nice. Our waiter? Very professional. I ask him about the Corned Beef Hash, is it slop from a can? No sir, the chef chops the Corned Beef into small pieces for the hash. My wife ordered a salmon-egg white omelet. We ask for a multigrain bread that we'll both share as well as coffee. He comes back with our food. My CBH? Man, it was off the chain! Cooked perfectly, this was just a filling meal. My wifes omelet was smokey, with big chunks of salmon. There was a choice of three so she also chose mushroom and spinach. Simple food but the quality and the way each dish was prepared and sent to us was truly a 5 star brunch meal. I highly recommend Cafe Dupont, make time for breakfast if you're staying at the hotel. It's well worth the visit.

A friend's birthday & she wanted to go to this place for a Sat brunch. I booked it through open table & put down a note as birthday celebration. I didn't expect much as some restaurants in DC nowadays don't give out birthday desserts anymore. Surprisingly, a waiter & waitress came out with a candled beautiful dessert right after our meal. They sang happy bday song to my friend as well. Accompanied with coffee & juice, we had salmon & crumbled eggs, sausage & bacon with French toast, & avocado toast. All standard but tasty.

The service was genuinely five-star. Attentive without being intrusive, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable. The drinks were inventive and beautifully balanced, creative without trying too hard, and the wine selection was outstanding. The sommelier's guidance made the experience even better; every recommendation paired perfectly with our meal. And the food? Superb. Outstanding. We ended up trying almost everything because we simply couldn't decide -- and not a single dish disappointed. Each plate felt intentional, refined, and deeply flavorful. Maison is the kind of place you go for a special night and leave already planning your return. An absolute gem.

We got a bunch of things to share. I ate the butter like it was frosting. It may be cultured, but I'm not!! Had the carrots, escargot, the deviled eggs, and the pasta. Also had the octopus pepper gilda thing. Our server, think his name was Hunter, said that was the most popular main. It was very delicious, rich but not overly so. The martini was nice and came with a side car. Great presentation. When my friend saw the martini she said this makes me feel like i know how to live. They have a good wine list, you can get good stuff without breaking the bank. Their espresso is nice. I don't think they have decaf though.

History of Present Indulgence 32 yo M presents with spouse…read moreand friend for pre-comedy show dinner at Italian establishment on 18th Street in Adams Morgan. No reservation and sat comfortably at the bar. Physical Examination Food - This place was absolutely delicious. We started with Arancini and Prosciutto e Polenta. The arancini was fried perfectly - crispy outside, warm risotto inside, and sitting in this savory-sweet tomato sauce that I could've honestly just eaten with a spoon (and basically did using the focaccia they give with your meal - which itself was delicious too). The arancini also has ground beef in the center, which adds to the flavor and depth of what is usually just fried risotto. The polenta fries with paprika aioli were fantastic too. My only complaint is that I wish there were more of the fries because there were only 3 to go along with the large plate of sliced prosciutto. The prosciutto itself was fine. Just standard quality prosciutto. For mains, we went family-style and shared three entrees: the pork ossobuco from the secondi menu, the tagliarini with shredded duck, and the cavatelli with rabbit and fava beans. The ossobuco was cooked well, though I wish the braise flavor went deeper into the pork. The truffle mushroom risotto underneath was incredible. Rich, creamy, and the fresh lemon and parsley gremolata on top cut through all that richness perfectly. The tagliarini was delicious, but my wife and I agreed that the duck flavor was a little lost in the rich marinara sauce. It didn't feel like I was eating duck, to be honest. You could've told me that was shredded short rib, and I might've believed you. The cavatelli was probably my favorite dish - those shell-shaped pasta pieces with rabbit and fava beans in a white wine sauce that had this unique flavor I haven't tasted anywhere else. There's a mild gaminess from the rabbit, but it was very subtle. Each time I had a fava bean, it was a fun change of pace in texture and taste as I was spooning this plate down my throat. It was so so good. Portions were generous too, which made the prices feel totally worth it. We left full and satisfied. My wife had a lambrusco spritz that was deliciously refreshing, and we shared some good wine throughout the meal. No complaints. Service - The bartender was really kind and attentive. Even though we weren't at a table, we didn't feel like we were getting second-tier service or anything. They checked on us regularly, made good recommendations, and kept everything moving smoothly. I also love a service that offers more table bread without needing to be asked. And their table bread was this fragrant focaccia, so I could've eaten all of whatever they brought. Ambiance - haven't been to a ton of Italian restaurants in DC, but I loved the vibe here. Intimate, cozy, dim lighting. The wine selection was great too - enough variety to be interesting without being one of those overwhelming 50-page wine lists. I think this would be a perfect date night spot. Assessment A high-quality Italian restaurant with creative takes on traditional dishes, generous portions, and an intimate atmosphere. A strong contender for the Adams Morgan dining scene, where restaurants are lined up right next to each other, and making a choice can be a bit difficult. Plan - Add to recommended restaurant list for DC visitors - Consider for future date nights or a solo wine and appetizer moment - Return to try more pasta dishes or enjoy a happy hour

We told one of the servers and he said noted, then never came back and it was never addressed. The ossobucco with the risotto rice was extremely undercooked, where we could see the white middles of each grain of rice. The ossobucco itself was delicious though! I reached out on their website to share that we were a bit disappointed as we were there with friends who claim this is one of their favorite Italian restaurants in the DMV, and having multiple bones in a dish is not acceptable. Not coming back and saying something is also unacceptable. No one reaching back out after I emailed them, is equally very unacceptable.

Warm wood, soft lighting, an atmosphere that feels intimate without being cramped, the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and stay a while. The team went above and beyond when they learned I don't drink: they gifted us a non-alcoholic wine, a complimentary appetizer, and dessert. That kind of hospitality isn't scripted... it's felt. Now, the food. The housemade sourdough with eucalyptus honey butter is dangerous, I could have stopped there and been happy. The roasted carrot salad with hazelnut dukkah and garlic toum was one of those dishes that makes you rethink a vegetable entirely. The garlic knots had no business being that good... crispy, layered, almost croissant-like, deeply garlicky in the best way. For pasta we had the pappardelle with spicy roasted pork ragù and fennel breadcrumbs, and the canastra cheese ravioli with wild garlic pesto and brazil nut pangrattato, that stunning deep green dish topped with chive blossoms looked like art and tasted even better. Both pastas were perfect. Then the Brazilian budino with coconut caramel and toasted coconut came out with a little candle tucked in. I nearly cried. This is a restaurant that treats every table like it matters. We will absolutely be back.
