Excellent food. Killer cocktails. And an awesome staff that is always courteous, attentive, and fun. If you're getting food, definitely try the blistered green beans, poutine, and the farmer's salad (which is like a Cobb salad/bowl, it's amazing) *but* my all-time fave is the fried chicken sandwich - it's honestly one of the best l've ever had in Charleston. Also, this place is huge so they were able to accommodate my friend's post-wedding party (about 20 people) at the last minute and we had a blast. Everywhere else we tried to go either didn't have the space for us or were closing so it totally made our night! We just made sure to call ahead to check and they were more than happy to have us - the bride was happy so you know it was good :) Bottom line, the Peacock is a local gem hidden in plain sight on East Bay and, as a local, it's become one of my top go-to's in Charleston. You can't beat the prices (seriously), ambience, quality, and awesome staff. They also have live music every week so they know how to keep it classy and lively at the same time. A huge shout-out to The Peacock for once again taking such wonderful care of our friend and us on her 50th Birthday! The staff went above and beyond, and the entire evening went off without a hitch. The bartenders were fantastic -- attentive, friendly, and made sure everyone's glasses were never empty (water included!). We also ordered one of our favorite dishes, the Farmer's Salad with Chicken, and it was absolutely delicious -- so good, in fact, that we dove right in and forgot to take a photo first! The food at the surrounding tables looked equally incredible; I'd especially recommend the cheese plate and the tuna. As a bonus, there's a nightclub on the second floor that gets lively on weekends, so the fun doesn't have to stop after dinner. This was our first stop to town on our family vacation. We hoped to sit on the rooftop, but it was very hot so we sat in the dining room. There were only two or three other tables that were occupied around on a Saturday afternoon. The ambiance was just so so, but the food was good overall. The cinnamon French toast was way too crunchy for my kids liking, the bang bang was actually pretty good, and the beef melt was very good. I LOVE THE PEACOCK! I have never felt more welcomed walking into a restaurant than when I walked into this place dude. Genuinely, some of the nicest people worked there (shoutout Tim #goat). Not to mention the food was incredible. I lowkey am picky so I ordered chicken tenders but they were DELISH The ranch and the honey mustard were super yum and I absolutely recommend getting the parm truffle fries. Every other item we ordered was absolutely five-star worthy. Another perk is that this place is decorated so beautifully, the ambiance is wonderful. Stopped in for our bach dinner, and the decor and vibes were exactly what we were looking for. The truffle fries are an absolute must. Upstairs it was pretty chill and quiet so easy to chat and lots of comfortable seating. My sister wanted a mint tea and since they didn't have one the bartender added fresh mint leaves to her tea and she really enjoyed it. She loved the espresso martini and the flavor of the smoked pecan liquor. The cranberry fizz was very good. It was a light refreshing drink that had a great blend of flavors, some spice and some sweetness. I stopped by here for drinks and an early dinner after a walking tour downtown. Since it was early, there was no wait and plenty of tables to choose from on the roof top. If you are at a rooftop table, you can order food from the bar. We tried several drinks and entrees, all were great! I recommend the truffle fries as an app to share with drinks. The downstairs restaurant is gorgeous & comfortable Hollywood glam style. I appreciate the combination of the low lighting and lively bar. The tables are also appropriately spaced to maximize capacity and privacy. Our server, V (yes, like the letter) was simply amazing. She recommended the Cafe Society (Espresso Martini) and seriously; It was one of the best I've ever had. A special drink, no doubt. For entrees, the market catch of the day/week was a scallop & risotto dish that the girls were drooling over while they gobbled it right up. My wife and I enjoyed visiting The Peacock last night; it was the last night of restaurant week. For appetizers, we had the bang bang shrimp and the blistered green beans: both came out of the kitchen very hot and tasted fantastic! For mains, I had the lamb that makes my mouth water at memory; the hint of mint in the sauce and grilled flavor was great. My wife had the salmon and risotto that was delightful. For dessert, we had creme brulee and s'more molton lava cake...both were a perfect sweet end to the meal. The atmosphere was really good, a large bar with smaller tables. The staff were attentive and we asked for a slower pace to our meal, which they provided perfectly. Most people were there for an hour or so, we were there over two hours and enjoyed every minute. read more

I just have to say that for one of my first times in Charleston, The Peacock was definitely a warm welcome and surely a great spot to choose to eat at. Our servers, DJ and Dave, truly need the largest raise because they were amazing. Definitely props to Dave because he made the experience smooth and perfect. The food was great too. I had the Smash Burger and I was in shock. The bacon was crispy and juicy, and the patty was cooked to perfection. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and a couple of weeks ago, we finally got the opportunity. Unfortunately, I was kinda left...underwhelmed. The service was fine, although we did have to wait for a while before we were able to order. By the time we ordered our brunch, it was time for another round of drinks. We're lushes, but still - it had been a minute. Once we ordered, the food got there very quickly, which, honestly, made me a little nervous. My stepmom ordered a sandwich, they brought out the wrong dish (understandble - it can happen to anyone), but her correct order arrived not even a minute later. I got the fried chicken sandwich, which was fine. The food was nothing to write home about, which was disappointing because I've heard others say this place was pretty good! Maybe we went on a bad day? It's possible! The highlight of our time there was when we went to their rooftop patio. Great atmosphere up there with the lounge seating and TVs everywhere, as well as a nice view of the water. This place advertises as brunch, but their menu is very much just regular lunch, which I found odd. Cocktail menu looked pretty decent, and the bar tender can work off menu as well. They have an espresso machine, so can make essentially any coffee drink you want, though they seem ill-practiced at it. The server asked my wife to evaluate whether her Americano was "correct" because she wasn't sure if the barista made it right. My cappuccino was an 8oz mug of hot milk with an espresso shot instead of a proper cappuccino. I had the smoked salmon, which was a plate of bread, salmon, crème, and toppings a la build-your-own bagel with locks. It was tasty. My wife had the poutine, which was a huge portion of McDonald's fries with shredded pot roast and cheese, complete with separate gravy boat. Came for post brunch cocktails because it was a gorgeous November day in Charleston so it called for rooftop drinks. Walked in Sunday at about 1:30 and were able to get 4 seats at the ledge facing the water. We had espresso martinis, jazz hands and old sport. I had the smoked Salmon and it was perfectly smoked with cucumbers lemon and capers with a delicious sauce on nice crispy bread. The chicken sandwich was nice and crispy with great flavor. It is an upscale, multi-tiered entertainment experience with upscale dining, a speakeasy lounge, and a rooftop deck overlooking Charleston Harbor. The venue is beautiful, beginning in the Gatsy inspired first floor where we enjoyed a delightful breakfast while chatting with the bartender. I ordered the Smoked Atlantic Salmon served with fresh bread, lemon-dill creme fraiche, capers, shallots, and sliced cucumbers. (very tasty, but I prefer thinner sliced cucumbers). My guy decided on the Breakfast Sandwich with a choice of Applewood bacon or house sausage, fried egg, white American cheese on a Brioche bun. Parmesan fingerling potatoes completed his order. Each entree was less than $20. Linch & dinner are also offered with a wide selection of wines and cocktails. There are weekly new and recurring events, including NFL and college football. Heading up to the second floor, it didn't disappoint and then the rooftop lounge was a wonderful touch to the use of the space. Amazing view from the rooftop! The weather was superbly warm and I loved soaking up the sun. I like the sections of each lounge booth area. It creates a sense of comfortable privacy while enjoying the lounge on the rooftop. Fantastic service. Our waiter came around often and he filled up my cup of water constantly - even at the end after the tab was paid for. They have a variety of cocktails and nice entrees/bites to choose from. Poutine is a must get! They don't skimp out on the portions and the gravy with the cheese and beef, was just all wonderful and complimenting each other. Close to the market hall and harbor view location.
