    Smash Burger with french fries
    Tracy C.

We stopped by The Parrot after a beach day since it was one of the only restaurants still open. The restaurant was just okay overall. We dined around 8-9 PM, and upstairs seating was already closed so we sat downstairs. One issue was that our table kept rocking. It was also pretty hard to find our server. The food itself was pretty good. The street corn was juicy and had a nice spicy mayo sauce. The calamari was tasty. The octopus pieces were flaky and well-cooked, but there were way more onions than actual calamari. The burger was solid, and the fries were thick and potatoy. Service definitely could've been better. Our server seemed busy, we never got water refills, and we had to ask the host for to-go boxes. It was also on the pricier side. If you're craving food from here, I'd probably recommend takeout instead of dining in.

BOMB.COM Place was slightly costly but food was darn worth it. Presentation & taste was great. Only downside was the top patio is HOT !

Love this restaurant so much. My daughter ( who recently passed away) came here with us in July, and this is the last restaurant that she ever went to. Since then we've been back multiple times, I can't say enough how wonderful a server Sarah is. Beyond that it's such a great experience to sit out on the patio And see the ocean while basking in the sun and enjoying their wonderful oysters and lobster rolls. Their lobster Rangoon is also very good and their cocktails are crafted and delicious.

My friend and I stopped by for a quick bite to share. We ordered a crunchy rainbow roll and lobster rangoons. The order came out quick and was delicious, the rangoons had quite a bit of lobster in them. We sat on the rooftop deck and enjoyed the view, it's beautiful!

So delicious & exactly what we needed after a fun day at the beach! I seem to always crave savory fried food after swimming in sea water and tanning on the sand, and so we were very glad to order items like fish n chips, fried calamari, and lobster rangoons! Food was absolutely scrumptious. Ordered the parrot juice cocktail and it tasted really good, might have preferred an even stronger drink to be honest, but that would probably worsen the taste! We were also lucky and got the best outdoor rooftop seating with shade. Thanks for a delicious meal!

I attended a private event here over the weekend on the top floor and the location/view was mind blowing! The food offered was delicious and I was really impressed with their beer offerings; quite a few local craft breweries on draft and I really enjoyed whichever Vitamin Sea NEIPA they had on draft that my husband brought me.

The food here is subpar. The reviews don't lie! We got the lobster Rangoon's which were actually really good. They gave us 5 for 2 people. My husband got the smash burger- which like the reviews said was a frozen patty and didn't resemble a smash burger whatsoever but it tasted like a standard burger. No big deal. I wanted the fish and chips but too many reviews said they were gross so I opted for the baked haddock (fresh from duxbury!)- it was gross- it was caked in a small layer of something and smothered in butter. I mean 1-2 sticks of butter. Couldn't really taste the fish itself. I got the truffle fries with it- undercooked fries but better than the fish. Only good thing was that Vitamin sea was on tap for a decent price. I got the pina colada with was okay. We would not return and recommend you try somewhere else. This place is great for drinks with a view but not food

The location is beautiful of course! But the food is loosing it's taste. Drinks are moderate but the service was outstanding.

Plenty! It's a scratch kitchen, so they can alter most items. They also have a veggie risotto (secret menu item) that's absolutely dynamite!

The space is big, so they were able to seat us right away with a good view too. Service overall was friendly. We ordered a lobster roll and some seafood. The portion sizes, especially the sides, were very generous. The fries were better than I expected (nice and crispy, not dry). The seafood tasted fresh. My favorite was the salt-pepper shrimp appetizer. I might not get the lobster roll again, because the meat was quite tough. Other than that, it was an excellent last stop of our trip :)

Knowing me I had to call to make sure that the seafood was wild caught and it was not farm raised. The hostess told me everything was fresh minus the salmon that was only farm raised. The wait was not that bad at all - they said a hour in a half but it was definitely shorter then that since a lot of other individuals have left because of the long wait. We probably only waited for about 20 - 30 min. Everything was delicious here from the raw seafood , calmaria and for my dinner entree I got the Schrood which was the wild caught cod , with mashed potatoes and coleslaw it was very very delicious. We also saw a celebrity at the restaurant as well which was very cool. Everyone was very nice there including the staff. I highly recommend going there.

Having been, now, a few times, I think the reviews are a bit understated. it is fresh, fast, kind. The drawback is that they do not have a huge selection, but I suspect that is because what they have is fresh. It also does not appear overpriced. I will go back.

On Christmas Eve, (La Vigilia), many Italian families celebrate the "Feast of the Seven Fishes"…read more The custom is to serve seven different seafood dishes, each one representing one of the seven sacraments. At least that's the version of the story we've always gone by. The usual menu (since I was a tiny tot) has always included: pasta with lobster, baked stuffed shrimp, bacala (salt cod) salad, another bacala dish; this one with a marinara sauce, pan-fried smelts, clams one way or another; often casino-style, calamari, and then whatever else suits us that year to total at least seven dishes. While I didn't appreciate aspects of this meal when I was a kid (read: any bacala dish), it's now probably my favorite holiday feast bar none with any and all bacala included. While I usually get my fish at Rockyneck no matter what time of year, the day or two leading up to Christmas Eve is when we've got to buckle down. The crowd is coming. Rockyneck doesn't steer us wrong. It's actually inside the Hingham Fruit Center, a store I love and which I've reviewed separately. It consists of one large seafood counter within the larger grocery store and is its own business. I'm generally impressed with the freshness, quality and taste of the seafood they carry. The look of the fish is always pristine and I never hesitate over any of their offerings. The staff is attentive, friendly and helpful and will do their best to get you the very best of what you need when you need it. Christmas Eve notwithstanding, this place is a conveniently located little gem.
