Owner cooks and is on site. Wonderful experience. Karaoke night is a hoot. Everyone in the kitchen is top notch. Never had a bad meal there.

Thank you for your generosity agreeing to deliver to them (I was many miles away) to the nursing facility so they could focus their efforts supporting their loved one. The food I was told was spectacular! Pleasing to the eye AND absolutely delicious. Carefully crafted sandwiches full of flavor, chips, and a beautiful salad. "Perfect 10" were the shortbread bars with chocolate glaze! Chips and cupcakes! Needless to say, there were leftovers which makes for a quick bite to eat later on. Local Gem! #grateful! 1/25/24

However, the bakery itself was rather crowded with some picking up an order while others waiting patiently for their food. I went for the tuna sandwich but opt'ed for sourdough instead of rye. The tuna was pretty good, with a reasonably seasoned fish and not too much mayo. The sourdough was toasted and held up well. The butterscotch cookie was fairly chewy and soft, though perhaps a tad too sweet for my taste. Check-in on Yelp and you'll get a free "pastry", so I can't complain too much with a free cookie. With a sandwich, free cookie, and a drink, I paid nearly $10, which wasn't too bad with the cookie. The decor is clean and a bit cutesy, without it inducing a vomiting posture. Like many writers here, the wait time is longer than other equivalent places. Fortunately I didn't have any more pressing matters that day, so I could afford a check on fb...or two checks.

The restaurant has some indoor seating and you can see them work in your order. I also liked the local choices for drinks and chips that are available. The grilled stacker is huge and could feed two people. You get a lot of value compared to Boston's Sam Lagrassa's for comparable quality and taste. The combination of the pastrami, corned beef, Swiss, coleslaw and Russian dressing is perfect. You'll need to figure out how to tackle this sandwich! The meat is so tender and melts in your mouth. This place will not disappoint.

There's a half circle bar top area as well as a few tabletops, allowing either eat in or takeout options. Food was pricey, but was justified by the amount and quality of the sandwiches. Of note, some sandwiches are available as 1/2 portions so look for those on the menu if you aren't that hungry or plan to bring some home. It's deli meats so can be salty for some, but they also come with a wide variety of other toppings. Staff were very friendly. Definitely a space where they have their regulars but everyone is made to feel welcome.

But I'm actually writing about the company's website and phone recording. Once, on a prior holiday, and today due to a winter storm, I wasn't sure if the restaurant was open. In both cases (where the restaurant turned out to be closed), the website (appropriately) didn't allow online orders, and (more importantly) THE OUTGOING PHONE RECORDING WAS UPDATED WITH CURRENT INFORMATION. In an era where businesses barely have phone numbers to call, or employees who answer with something other than 'hello', is rare (and by the way, this is the fault of management if they don't properly train their staff). THANK YOU FOR HAVING YOUR SHIT TOGETHER IN COMMUNICATING YOUR HOURS TO THE PUBLIC. I, for one, appreciate it.

It was the gold standard for a real sandwich in the city. Sadly, the magic has faded. Between the soaring prices and the shrinking portions, the value just isn't there anymore. You can taste the "corner-cutting"--the flavors aren't as bold as they used to be, and the sandwiches feel noticeably smaller even though the cost has increased exponentially - I mean $30 for a sammy?! It should have gold in it! Even then, I'd keep coming once in awhile if the service was worth it. but honestly - the staff seems burnt out even bright early in the morning. It's hard to justify the premium price for a shadow of what this place used to be.

It…read morewas founded by business partners Dino Funari, Pete Kiley, Josh Sherman and Richard DiBona. Funari, Kiley and Sherman frequently got together on weekends to embrace their love of homebrewing. After doing this for a number of years, and building up a local following distributing their home-brews from a blue cooler, they decided to open a brick & mortar brewery and taproom. At this time, DiBona came on board as a partner and assisted with the search for a location. After exausting all options in the seaside town of Hull, the partners acquired a 3,000-sq-ft space in the "craft beer friendly" town of Weymouth. The name "Vitamin Sea" was chosen to reflect Funari's love of surfing and surf culture. The brewery quickly gained a reputation for their juicy New England IPAs, decadent Stouts, and experimental Fruited Sours. A second location opened along the waterfront in Plymouth in May 2024. I recently visited Vitamin Sea's Plymouth location while I was in town for the day. I was scheduled to meet up with some other beer bloggers at a different brewery later. I soon realized that Plymouth has an excellent craft beer scene and decided to head to Vitamin Sea first. The Plymouth facility is a beautiful location along the waterfront. I really liked the nautical/surf design theme too! I grabbed a seat at the bar and began to look over the menu. I heard that the Plymouth location is known for their excellent ciabatta sandwiches, so I ordered the "Parm to Table" (oven-roasted chicken cutlet, house-made marinara, melted mild & aged provolone, Parmesan, whipped lemon ricotta, basil on toasted ciabatta). It was the BEST chicken cutlet sandwich I've ever had in my life! What made it stand apart from other sandwiches? The whipped lemon ricotta! I washed it down with a pour of "Currency Check" (Double New England IPA), followed by "Mexican Blanket" (Imperial Stout). The beer, like the food, was fantastic! I must also point out that the staff were so friendly, knowledgable, and helpful throughout my visit. I highly recommend Vitamin Sea Brewing and look forward to visiting their Weymouth location!
