I've enjoyed this place more than not. Service can be very attentive(Jennifer) or next to non-existent(some of the others), but I've never felt rushed either way. The dining area is pretty bare bones, and can get awfully cold quickly. That out of the way, the food is the star here. I like the skillets and baked oatmeals the best. There's variety of skillets to choose from. All are takes on classic breakfest fare, and all are filling. The baked oatmeals come loaded with fruit and frozen yogurt. Go with these if you go. I've had really good and really mediocre pancakes and french toast here, so order at your own risk. Prices overall are ok for what you're getting. Again, you won't leave hungry. read more

Breakfast was very good! VERY good. I'm on a keto diet so I opted for no homefries or toast, but homefries got a thumbs up at my table! I didn't give a 5 because I wish they had substitutions for a low carb diet. Tomato slices instead of homefries, or different side choice. It was an extra dollar for cheese in omelet (which I thought was high) and I received minus $0.75 for no homefries and toast, which I felt was too low. On our way to Shops at Belmont we stopped to get some breakfast. We got there before 930, by 10 the dining room was filling up fast. I got a delicious loaded country skillet, my wife the Greek skillet. The presentation of the dishes in skillets was a perfect homey touch. Pricing was fair and service was good until it got busy. They appeared a bit understaffed when we left so I couldn't blame our server. My advice, get there before 10. We will return. read more

I went here with my wife and another couple on a Sunday morning. We were told this was a hidden gem in Lancaster for brunch. Needless to say, this is a small, divey dinner that was PACKED! Fortunately we were seated quickly. Service was quick and attentive as 3 of us ordered coffee to get the day started right. It was good diner coffee, and the whole place reminded me of something my grandmother would have absolutely loved. We all ended up ordering their "skillets" which were combinations of egg and home fries with whatever variation and a side of toast presented in a pan. The presentation was good but the taste was even better! This place knows how to do breakfast right, with the right portions that leave you full but not overly stuffed. I had the southwest skillet with salsa, sour cream, cheese, peppers, and ham. My wife had the country skillet with ham, onion, and sausage in hers. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the continuous flow of hot coffee! Definitely a neat place to go with a small and spot on menu for brunch. Food is very reasonably priced and the staff is on top of everything keeping customers flowing in and out. Definitely wouldn't mind coming here in the future for brunch again. read more

I used to go to brunch every weekend with friends and have gotten out of the habit these past few years. I think that we have all gotten busy and have things that need attention on weekend mornings instead. Little things like kids and homes. Ah, aging. If I lived anywhere near this place, I would experience a brunch revival. Everything was so good. The ingredients were fresh and the dishes were tasty. Even the coffee was great (I am weird and picky about my coffee). I ordered one of the skillets which was delicious - also, where did this bread with tomato in it come from? Genius! I think that bread should always have tomato in it. I shared a baked oatmeal. Cinnamon flavored baked oatmeal with bananas and peaches and berries, all topped off wtih vanilla frozen yogurt. Delicious! I tasted one of the sandwiches on a pretzel roll too. Really, everything was beyond tasty. This place was packed and we had difficulty parking in the lot (in part because this city girl feels like most of the people in the lot couldn't park without taking up way too much space). But the wait was not too long and the people working there were really pleasant and helpful to us tourists, willingly and kindly giving suggestions and directions. That was appreciated. read more

Actually so crowded that you probably didn't get a parking space in front of the building. And you're probably scanning the place looking for an open table. Should you just sit down? Before you have time to act, one of the busy servers will greet you with a smile and take you to an open table. Have a cup of coffee or tea and check out the menu. Whatever you decide on, make sure it includes a few pieces of Croissant French Toast. Enjoy the best breakfast in Lancaster County and recommend it to a friend - but not too many people. We locals are trying to keep this place a secret all to ourselves. As a local, I give this place five stars based on the menu, quality of food, and what I call it's plain-uniqueness. You could easily be turned off by décor (there is none) and crowded atmosphere. Which is fine - just drive a few more miles to Denny's and have an average breakfast with a side of nausea. Upon reading some of the articles on the wall, I learned that this restaurant has been in business for over 50 years, run by a Greek chef. It was also voted Lancaster's best breakfast in 2009. After passing by the place for a number of years we decided to try it in the middle of the week. I had Cinnamon Swirl French Toast and my dad had the basic eggs/home fries/ toast. First, we had to seat ourselves. Service was slow for the number of people in the place. Coffee was weak and ordinary at best. My Dad's meal came in a banged up frying pan instead of a plate. As of this point my diet had mostly consisted of snacks and Subway sandwiches. My family and I decided to eat here because of the name, The Pantry. Our favorite breakfast place back home ( in California) is in fact called The Pantry as well, so we had to give it a try. I ended up ordering the croissant French toast combo and absolutely loved it. It came with two slices of the croissant French toast, scrabbled eggs topped with cheddar cheese, and two pieces of bacon. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and would definitely come here again if I lived anywhere nearby. I wanted an authentic PA Dutch breakfast... so did a search on Yelp! and this came up as #1. We visted on a Friday morning and was promptly seated. They serve breakfast all day until 2pm. I ordered the western omelet and they added cheddar cheese for an additional fee. It was very good (but not the best I ever had). Well cooked and very tasty. I absolutely loved the home fries that came with it and the presentation of it being served in a pan was the added touch (that was one of the best I ever had). The wheat toast was very good as well. The dining room was small but comfortable. My wife ordered the french toast with bacon. She must of loved it because she didn't offer me any. She said she did. Service was prompt. The coffee was only mediocre (kind of weak) and for me that is the difference between 4 and 5 stars. Also they only have 1 uni-sex bathroom. Service was good (not great). It is rather far out from the attractions. If I lived in the area I would go back again. If visiting I would probably try other places. A solid B+! read more

The Pantry is THE Best! As a full blooded Filipino, a traditional Amerian breakfast is something I had seldomly. That being said, The Pantry does it right in all areas! The atmosphere as a small town dine in is perfect and the food is ON POINT. I want to make sure that CONNER gets proper recognition. He was our waiter and REALLY blessed us! My girlfriend briefly expressed her allergy to wheat and CONNER really took it upon himself to ask the cooks to avoid cooking with anything that has been in contact with wheat. His attitude was so cheery and welcoming! It made us feel SO welcomed! As I'm writing this review, he's still checking up on the WHOLE front (7 tables at the moment) and chatting with each of us and still keeping everything flowing and smooth. Tried The Pantry today for the first time. After reading all the awesome reviews I had high hopes and expectations for our brunch outing. The Pantry was pretty busy but we were seated without a wait, I ordered the french toast tower, the BF had the Greek skillet with a side of scrapple. Overall I would describe our experience as... "Meh". Service was basic - slowish, not super friendly (BF asked for a water & a hot chocolate(swiss miss mix), hot chocolate came, water didn't until we asked again at the end of our meal- when the server brought the check) Food was tasty but not AMAZING. I am not giving 2 stars since is the only time I have visited this restaurant and nothing was wrong with the food. I would not go again unless it was a friends choice. Went here with my husband and 4 year old twins while staying in Lancaster for a few days. We love finding local spots and supporting small businesses especially when we travel. Glad we found this place on Yelp! The place is very unassuming from the outside and not much in terms of decor but the food was awesome! People were also friendly and service was excellent! My husband and I had a skillet breakfast (I created one with eggs, spinach, bacon & tomato). Kids split a breakfast platter of blueberry pancakes, sausage & bacon. They said it was delicious! I also enjoyed the multigrain bread available for a little additional cost. Would definitely return again!!! read more

She said she thought it was a flipped bran muffin with frozen yogurt and strawberries and blueberries around it. She did not care for it either. We would not recommend this place. Is still pretty good, but prices have gone up, and I'm starting to feel ripped off. Breakfast today, I had short stack pancakes with a fried egg on top, and bacon. My companion had Italian omelet with English muffin. Two coffees. Our bill came to just under $25. Service--very loud and stressed, somebody didn't show up... They were trying, but not a relaxing dining experience. Pancakes just ok, tasted like cooked on a nasty grill... old oilish sort of taste. Generic imitation maple syrup in a plastic squeeze bottle. Bacon and egg were pretty good. My partner's omelette was lukewarm, nowhere near hot. Extra .50 charge for a stupid, standard English muffin... they also add .50 on for onions in homefries.. Highlight is that coffee has improved from previous yuck dishwater. Left a $5 tip. In a nutshell: this was definitely NOT a $30 dining experience. read more

The usual thought process for a sunday morning happened today -where to go for breakfast. I checked yelp for some places we haven't been to and decided to go to the Pantry after checking out their menu online. The drive was a short 20 minutes and when we pulled in the lot was almost completely full except for 2 or 3 spaces. We parked and walked in. The place is casual and slightly crowded with the entry and tables about 2 or 3 from each other. We were seated right by the door and someone tried to squeeze by as I handed the car seat with our baby to my wife to put in a chair. The waitress came quickly and gave a friendly greeting allowing us to check over the menu for a minute after getting our drink order. I ordered the 'create your own skillet' with bacon, mushroom and onion which was scrambled eggs topped with cheddar and had a side of home fries. I ordered the tomato basil bakery bread for 50 cents additional. My wife got the 'fruit mountain' pancakes which very large and heaped with banana, blueberries, strawberries and peaches with a very large whipped cream garnish. I enjoyed the skillet a lot and the portion size was good. I especially liked the bread, but would prefer real butter over the margarine that it came with. My wife enjoyed her pancakes and had a side of a single scrambled egg. I tasted the pancakes too and they were good with a flavor of banana left on them after the fruit was eaten. I recommend the pantry and feel they are probably deserving of 4.5 stars but some minor details could be improved and I kind of felt cramped. I went to the bathroom and said 'excuse me' about 4 times in the short 10-12 foot distance from our table. I would definitely consider coming back and was interested in the baked oatmeal breakfast dish and crepes. They have about 5 different types each of pancakes and french toast including croissant french toast and Texas toast french toast. The eggs and potatoes were prepared well and I left feeling satisfied. I was wondering where the cappuccino was on the menu, though since the main image on the website is two cups with lots of foam on top. read more

Breakfast out without kids is a wonderful experience, and we took advantage of that this morning while the kids were at VBS. Having a few hours to spend on a morning-date-night, we wanted to try somewhere new, and Yelp pointed us to the Pantry. First dilemma was where to park...the lot was filled to the gills. Be creative! Can't add much to what other yelpers have already pointed out...casual décor, tight seating, and yes, an outdoor patio, which in retrospect, might have been nice to try. Service was good, timely with the coffee refills. We ordered the croissant French toast and the country skillet. Both were very good! This used to be my breakfast spot every weekend. It's always packed, so be prepared to wait. I always get the Greek Island skillet which is almost always on point. I always see people getting ridiculous french toast dishes, I wish I could stray from my normal skillet to try one. I prefer to sit outside when the option is given, it's much more quiet and I don't feel as rushed. The only negative thing I have to say here is that the last time I was there (which was a few months ago now) an older waitress was completely flipping out over someone's coffee error. It honestly didn't seem like a big enough deal to warrant her explosive reaction, but everyone in the whole restaurant was watching.
