Great place for home style cooking. The menu seems to be primarily sandwiches but there are also salads and entrees to choose from. I had the chicken cheesesteak salad with mixed greens, tomatoes, grilled onions, cheese, croutons and a pile of meat. I also had the stuffed green pepper soup which was one of the better version and not full of grease. There is also a small store filled with sweets (long johns, Whoopi pies, shoofly bars and more). They also have sandwiches and cold meals to go.

Solid classic American diner that's been in operation for over 40 years (since 1977) that also serves as the local gas station and convenience store. We ate here twice during our one week stay, which is saying a lot. I mean, yes, it was very conveniently next to our Airbnb®, so there's that--but, with that said, I'm not one to waste my calories on a crappy meal. Service was great both times and the prices of their meals here is unbelievably inexpensive. $5-7 in my neck of the woods barely buys one a cup o' Joe, let alone a full breakfast with the aforementioned Joe. I ordered their Conestoga Scrambler ($5.75/special $6.50/normal) and it was a terrific mash-up of eggs, onions, peppers, ham and cheese. I also "upgraded" my bread to the English muffin (25¢) and it was worth every penny. Fluffy, airy and a nice crisp. My second visit I got the Wagon Wheel Sampler ($6.50) that came w/ eggs, country potatoes and a protein of one's choosing; I chose a sausage patty. The eggs were cooked as specified, but the real star was the buttery and crisp country potatoes. I could've eaten a bucket of them. Rye bread is also an "upgrade" (25¢) but well worth it, as well. Great place to check out if you're in the area for an All-'Merican-style filling breakfast that's affordable and will fill you up.

This is a cute diner that serves something for everyone. (Although I tried to go for an early breakfast, and they were closed. They open at 11am.) They have a large menu, with plenty of options. I have food sensitivities, and was able to find plenty of things to eat. I considered getting their pulled-pork which was on special, but I got their Chicken Salad Platter Salad instead (with no cheese or croutons, since I'm gluten & dairy-free). It is a mixed-greens salad with chicken salad on top. I also ordered a side of Red Beet Eggs, and that complemented it perfectly! Service was very friendly. I can't wait to return!

Recommended by a close friend of mine and so we decided to have her Birthday lunch there. Located in the beautiful town of Conestoga and don't drive too fast or you'll pass right by it. Seating was spacious and everything decorated with a welcoming feel. The sweet tea is sweetened just right. We both ordered the turkey with sides and it was absolutely delicious!!! I even ordered wings and had to take home!!! ( I couldn't even eat another bite after the turkey lunch ). I will be back to try out the other options on the menu. Can't wait !!!

Best food in Lancaster county. It's worth the drive to this place. All you can eat chicken pot pie night is hands down the best around.

We had ridden the Strasburg Railroad earlier…read morein the day and were looking for a place to eat when I fired up Yelp and found the Tavern by Spring House Brewing. It is located on East Main Street in downtown Strasburg. The inside consists of a large main room with an L shaped bar, a number of TVs, and then a second dining room off to the side. Since no one was seated in the second room and we had twin four year olds with us, we chose that space. Unfortunately the TV in that room was broken, so we were not able to watch the Steelers game that was on. Aside from that, the room itself had a cozy and slightly eclectic feel. There was a decorated Christmas tree lit up in the corner near the staircase which gave the space a warm seasonal vibe. The walls were decorated with brewery signs and beer themed banners, and a bright yellow decorative mantel stood out against the darker wall colors. Overall it felt casual and welcoming and worked well for a family dinner. For dinner on this evening I went with the Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak while my wife chose the K Town Mac Bowl. The menu described my wife's dish as three cheese cavatappi pasta with smoked pork slaw, Korean BBQ drizzle, sesame seeds, and scallions. My sandwich was described as smoked chicken, American cheese, buffalo sauce, gorgonzola, onion frizzles, ranch drizzle, and a hoagie roll. I thought my sandwich ended up being good, especially since it was chock full of chicken. The hoagie roll was toasted and buttered nicely and added a good crunch, which the onion frizzles helped reinforce. The gorgonzola added a nice pungent pop of flavor. While I did get some buffalo flavor, I definitely could have used more. Because of that, the sandwich was a little on the drier side despite having cheese, buffalo sauce, and ranch drizzle. My fries were seasoned and had a nice texture, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to go with a flight here. At Spring House Brewing, a flight consists of four beers and I chose the Cucumber Salamander, Backroads Shadows, Daily Planet, and Love and Rockets. The Love and Rockets ended up getting mixed up and I was instead served Grease the Poles. I started with the Cucumber Salamander, which is a sour. It was a bit tart right from the start and that carried through to the finish, with a little extra pucker at the end. Up next was Backroads Shadows, a lager with a crisp, clean start before the malts came through on the finish. This felt like a really good easy drinking beer. Third was Daily Planet, an IPA that had citrus up front followed by a solid hop presence that carried through the finish. Last was Grease the Poles, a pale lager that started off very clean before finishing with some lighter hop notes. Out of the bunch, the Cucumber Salamander was definitely my favorite. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Our food and drinks were good, and I would be interested in trying more of their beers.

Looked like there was only 2 servers for the entire place which was busy. My husband liked his chili, so that's the two star review. He said it had a lot of flavor. I had the brisket sandwich which was very small for the price with not a lot of meat. The meat had no flavor at all. Was not served with the au ju, which I had to ask for. Unfortunately, the au ju did not make it any better. The Cole slaw had a good flavor and was not sweet, so that was the best part of the food.

My wife had the fish and chips. Food was good and plentiful. Service was very good, ate with some old friends, there was no rush, they gave us plenty of space. It sounds bold, and it is, but it works beautifully. The broth is rich and deeply savory, the cheese pull is perfect, and the crispy rings add a texture you never knew the classic was missing. The pork chop remains the star of the menu--huge, expertly seasoned, and cooked with precision. It's widely considered the best in the city, and honestly might be the best in the state. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor, it's the kind of entrée you end up recommending to friends for weeks. Their octopus is another standout, prepared with surprising delicacy. Tender, not chewy, with a perfect char that adds just the right amount of smokiness. It's balanced, refined, and one of the most memorable small plates you'll find locally. And don't leave without dessert--the crème brûlée is phenomenal. Silky smooth custard under a flawlessly torched sugar crust that cracks just right. Simple, classic, and executed perfectly. Between the inventive dishes and the warm atmosphere, The First Post remains a must-visit for anyone who loves great food done exceptionally well.

We came across blue-collar restaurant, but when we pulled in, I was surprised to see it was located inside a golf country club. I almost turned around, but my daughter encouraged us to give it a try--and I'm so glad we did. The restaurant was beautiful inside, with a peaceful view overlooking the golf course that made for a really relaxing lunch. The food was excellent. I ordered the salmon with vegetable risotto special, and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. What really stood out, though, was the service. My daughter is nursing, and my granddaughter has soy and dairy allergies, so we had to be very careful with her meal. Our waiter, Matt, was outstanding. He went above and beyond, checking with the kitchen multiple times to make sure everything was completely free of soy and dairy. He helped put together a custom salad bowl for her, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, we had such a lovely experience--from the food to the atmosphere to the attentive service. I would absolutely recommend this spot and would gladly return.

Drinks came out quickly and the server was very attentive. Overall I'd give the food an 8/10. The dishes were really good. My husband had the cheese pizza and the Power Bowl (which is listed under salad but not really a salad). I had the Thai steak tips salad (which I all but licked the plate after, and that rarely happens). And then we split the Spicy Tuna Sushi Tots, which are probably my new favorite thing. Our daughter also had the cheeseburger and fries from the kid's menu. The burger was juicy and well seasoned for an $8.00 kids meal. Our only real draw back was that the restaurant was pretty dead and the food took about 40 minutes to come out. Even with the amount of time to get our food, we would be willing to go back because our meals were very good. The presentation and flavor combos really make Blue Collar stand out.

But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.
