Absolutely Delicious! This was our first visit to Gran Sabor…read moreLatino and I can't wait to go back again. The restaurant is clean, inviting, and the staff is amazing in helping to choose items. One of the positives is they have their own parking lot, which makes it easier to visit in downtown Lancaster. The restaurant is set up in a cafeteria style where you can go through the line and see all the amazing food they have behind the glass to choose from. The employees will fill your plate/to-go container with the items you choose. They also do not skimp when filling your plate! I bet ours weighted a couple pounds! The large plate is only $17! On this first visit we stayed to the basics we know and love- yellow rice w/beans, roasted pork (pernil), sweet plantains, and a beef and cheese empanada. Everything was bursting with flavor and seasoned perfectly. The food we tried was the best we've had in PA! GSL is easy to get to off rt 30 and you can pre-order online for take-out. I highly recommend!

Yellow rice and beans are just as good as the white rice and beans poured over top. Their empanadillas are just cooked to perfection. The staff is so welcoming and very helpful in helping you decide what to eat at each meal! The layout is perfect, go down the line and see what you want to make your meal how you want it. They have a lot of interesting-sounding offerings but today i kept it simple with the steak frites with chimichurri entree. It wasn't hot. For a nice clean, plain dish i didn't hate it. It wasn't a fabulous steak tho. But it was fine. Honestly for the price it was a good basic item i shouldn't really complain. The fries were seasoned well but the bland steak juice dripping onto them, of which there was a lot, was making them unpleasant. The special tonight sounded really good I have a feeling that item would've been to a higher standard. My date liked her veg options. Next visit we'll try the cordero and the papas bravas

Our food came out within a reasonable amount of time and it was freshly prepared. Everything I had was so delicious, I certainly have to go back to try some other things. My daughter and I started with a pitcher of red sangria which was the best I've ever had. Our food was Gambas Al Ajillo (sautéed shrimp), Ragut de Setas (sautéed mushrooms) and a board (I don't remember the name) which contained fried cheese, chicken strips, fried pork chunks, empanadas and more. We had plenty to take home! The atmosphere was nice. I really liked the booths.

I love coming to this restaurant. But this time traveling to Lancaster, I was sad to find out that…read morethey relocated to another spot not too far away from the old location. LOCATION: This new location sits on the second floor of a building. Steps are pretty narrow, so I can't imagine the elderly being able to climb a flight and a half of steps to enjoy such delicacies. So the new location is absolutely beautiful and more fancy than their old location. I love the ambiance. I went there on a Saturday at approximately 4:00 p.m. and there was Zero clientele. It seems like this place may have lost a lot of customers due to the location being on the second floor, but I could be wrong. I'll be honest, very clean, well lit with many slits of skyline above. I love the decor it still reminds me of Old San Juan, along with the Spanish music playing in the background. FOOD: amazing as always, even though I was struggling because they removed one of my favorite dishes from the menu, which was ropa Vieja. You get a lot of food on your plate, and all of the dishes are very flavorful and cook to order. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I love how attentive the staff were even though we were the only ones in the place. The waitress is very knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely accommodating. I wanted something simple to drink like a lemonade, and they made me some from scratch, so I was so thankful. I would definitely recommend coming to this place if you're looking for authentic San Juan dishes

They are open until midnight and have a variety of foods that are already in a steam table prepared so you can eat quickly or you can order off the menu. The daughter is Naomi and she was our server and speaks English. I know a few words in Spanish, enough to order my food, but thankfully, Naomi spoke perfect English. It is a small place with a small parking lot. If you are looking for ambience, this is not an elegant restaurant, but more of an authentic feel. While we like elegance, we much prefer this home style experience. The service was quick, it was wonderful, and very helpful. They have juices made on premise. I had guava, and my husband had soursop. That cow foot stew was one of the best I have ever had anywhere. This is a little gem in Reading and in walking distance of the Santander arena and the Doubletree Hotel. This is a perfect spot if you happen to get into town late because most of the restaurants close very early. We arrived a little after 8 PM, and many things were already shut down and shuttered. El Tronco de Lily's to the rescue.

You know those meals that are so darn delicious that days later your still thinking about it?…read more Well this was that meal!! OMG. In a recent visit to Lancaster I did some searching online for places to eat and followed the recommendations to the Horse Inn. Sooo happy we did!! The food was amazing. My husband says it was the best shrimp and grits he's ever had! My steak tips were equally as yummy. The sauce was out of this world good!! The fries!! Jesus what was that sorcery ?? YUMMMM. Hats off to the owners and chefs! Only bad thing is we don't live close by and we can't go back soon. But we will be back!! Special mention to our wonderful fun server, Luis, who made the experience even better for us! Give that guy a raise. THANK YOU!!

But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.
