Good food but the parking spot is the only down fall but it's worth the trip for the food and the selection of food is real good

National empanada day!! Unfortunately, not the best empanadas. The cheese tasted like cheese whiz. And there was so much of it, that's all you could taste. I also prefer a deeper fried empanada, these were kinda soft. Overall, mediocre food. Yellow rice and beans were standard and beef was okay. The cassava was soft and buttery. Would have been better with a little salt and pepper.

they really stepped up after that bad safety inspection. they have a wide selection of dominican/puerto rican food, and the place is mostly clean. the service is excellent, and they serve a lot of food. try the pernil, it is insanely good.

Pernil is too salty, and they never give me skin for the few times i got food here and got the pernil and rice ,like the best part really ??? And I need to know is the yellow rice Instant like the box (it's still good), but man I can't get the saltyness of the pernil out my mouth, I thought it would be just one time, I tried again and it's like naaaaa ...i also had the ribs which were okay, the potatoe salad was good, the rice and potatoe salad might of saved my meal experience here to keep it 100%

Food, service and sanitation was great. The only negative thing I can say is that they are unorganized with their service and food set up. If they would rearrange the way you order and how you select your food, the place would get a 5 star.

This place has failed health inspections 5 years in a row. Mold and utensils washed in dirty water

Yum yum yum! Do I really have to say more?! I love Latin food and Gran Sabor is definitely fairly priced, good stuff with a good selection! A large can easily feed 2 people or one person several meals. Last time we got 2 regular pulled pork and rice meals and 5 or 6 different empanadas for $25. The pork is anything but dry and the rice is flavorful and plentiful. The empanadas are big and they usual have multiple kinds like: chicken, beef, beef & cheese, pizza, etc. We usually opt for 'to go' but the inside is clean and has plenty of seating and a fair amount of parking. Gets busy at times but they move quickly. I could easily eat Latin food weekly.

The doubles? Exceptional. Soft, perfectly filled, and full of flavor. And the hot pepper sauce? Whew. It didn't just add heat, it elevated an already outstanding dish to another level. I ordered so many doubles I barely had room for anything else but I had to try the dhal and it was exactly what I needed. Comforting, rich, and done right. Everything tasted like true, authentic Trini food, the kind that makes you feel warm, satisfied, and already thinking about your next visit. I was literally craving it every single day for the rest of my Lancaster trip. The space itself is on the smaller side, but really cute and inviting. The service was great: friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience complete. Whether you're new to Trini food or already know what's up, Calaloo will not disappoint. Trust me, you'll be planning your next visit before you even leave.

I always order the coconut jerk chicken and am delighted be the Trinidadian/Asian fusion mix their menu provides. Specials rotate, which is so much fun. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through!

The food was flavorful. I got the goat, and morcilla (blood sausage) and my partner got the beef, platanos, and yuca. His beef was fall-off-the-bone tender, platinum, and yuca was great. My goat was a bit chewy, and morcilla a bit dry, but still very tasty. I'd definitely come back to try their other à la carte dishes. There are so many choices even if I went back every day for lunch for a week, I still would not be able to sample all that they offer. I couldn't take a pic of my partner's plate as it was so good he inhaled all of it, I barely got any, and that's how you know his plate was amazing!! LOCATION: This new location sits on the second floor of a building. Steps are pretty narrow, so I can't imagine the elderly being able to climb a flight and a half of steps to enjoy such delicacies. So the new location is absolutely beautiful and more fancy than their old location. I love the ambiance. I went there on a Saturday at approximately 4:00 p.m. and there was Zero clientele. It seems like this place may have lost a lot of customers due to the location being on the second floor, but I could be wrong. I'll be honest, very clean, well lit with many slits of skyline above. I love the decor it still reminds me of Old San Juan, along with the Spanish music playing in the background. FOOD: amazing as always, even though I was struggling because they removed one of my favorite dishes from the menu, which was ropa Vieja. You get a lot of food on your plate, and all of the dishes are very flavorful and cook to order. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I love how attentive the staff were even though we were the only ones in the place. The waitress is very knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely accommodating. I wanted something simple to drink like a lemonade, and they made me some from scratch, so I was so thankful. I would definitely recommend coming to this place if you're looking for authentic San Juan dishes
