I went to the Pantry over a year ago. And I swore up and down I would write a review when I got home, but never did. Luckily, they've started airing commercials for Hershey Park, and it triggered the memory. I turned to my guy and said, "What was that great little spot we had breakfast in? The one near Lancaster?" He paused a moment due to the out-of-the-blue nature of my question, and then went, "Ohh! The one that had that cinnamon-roll French toast?!" I nodded, as memories came back, "Yeah, and I got eggs benedict [bcs I always take eggs benedict when it's offered], but we got a breakfast sandwich to go because they had pretzel rolls and that sounded so good! Oh my god! AND we shared that thing... it was like hot rolled oats with fruit and ice cream!" Thus we relived our memories of the Pantry. Of food so appealing, two people ordered (and ate) 4 meals. It was easy for me to find the name of the place; I just googled: best breakfast near lancaster. The things that some people might take off a star for are the kind of things that many other people would add on stars for: gravelly parking lot, crowded floor, few decorations... the whole atmosphere almost feels like a really nice cafeteria or office cafe. The service was warm and friendly, but we did have to wait a while for our food. But it was crowded, and as long as the food is hot and delicious (which it was!), I'm ok with waiting a few extra minutes. I would highly recommend the Pantry to anyone passing through. And if you live in the area and haven't checked it out... then I'm frankly baffled! read more

I come here often for breakfast with some friends. The food never disappoints. Omelets, French toast, and Crepes are all good, I can't say the same about the coffee... it's quite weak. The servers are fine- they don't exceed my expectations - but they're ok. No complaints there. I do enjoy coming here, (but I drink a good cup of coffee at home first). read more

I know the menu says breakfast served all day but since it was lunch time I wanted to order a sandwhich. Got the club with turkey, ham and cornbeef. The meat was good, but the bread was way too hard on the crust. Almost stale. They only serve soda by the can, coke, diet coke and sprite. The cole slaw was good too. But honestly after reading all the other reviews I really ready for some awesomeness. Guess I was disappointed because I didn't order breakfast. Three of us went for Father's Day breakfast. It's was packed, which is always a good thing. We sat outside, which was perfect because the weather was lovely. The breakfast menu is extensive. We had Stuffed Stawberry French Toast, Blueberry and Almond Pancakes and the Baked Oatmeal with fresh peaches, strawberries, bananas and blueberries. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. Portions were on the large size. The coffee was the only disappointment, it was hot and refilled as much as you wanted, but weak and flavorless. Don't hesitate to have breakfast here! read more

Very fairly priced and good portions. I went here to try their croissant french toast and my boyfriend tells me it was pretty good, but I didn't get to have a taste. Their eggs benedict was really good, but it needed a bit more sauce. I loved how the potatoes were cooked. Service was meh, considering the restaurant was not full and there were two or three servers working at the time, but maybe they were busy cleaning up in the back from the breakfast rush, since I didn't get there until around 11am. They took our orders quickly, but only gave me two creamers with my first cup of coffee and didn't offer me any at all with my refill, which took forever to get. They also only checked up on us once during our meal near when we started eating. Overall, a standard breakfast place with a homey feel and reasonable prices. I don't understand why this quaint restaurant doesn't 5 stars! The food and service are exceptional! We ordered the Florentine Benedict and the french toast special to share. All I can say is yummy! As I was savoring the different types of food, I was raving over the bacon, the cinnamon swirl french toast, and the home fries! All I can say is wow! Everything was so fresh and melted in your mouth. We enjoyed the meals sooo much that we felt like tasting more. We must have been hypnotized because I knew I couldn't eat any more, but they had baked oatmeal on the menu, which I have never heard about, so against my better judgment, I ordered it. My boyfriend couldn't stop eating it. It was very good. The waitress was very helpful, friendly, and attentive. I must of had 4 cups of coffee with my meal. What an amazing experience. I never heard of this place, until I googled breakfast places. I made sure I check out the reviews and I can tell you right now that they were all right!! Their food is amazing!! It's all fresh!! I took my kids there for breakfast this morning and we ordered the 2 eggs meal (comes with home fries and toast) , my step son ordered their ham and cheese omelet and that came with home fries also, and had to make sure we got a blueberry muffin along with their fresh fruit cup! Their fruit was FRESH!! My 15month old LOVED everything! The downside, however, which is why it doesn't get 5 stars... Is the size of the place. it literally felt like we were eating in " The Pantry" lol. Very very small. No room to wait if tables are not available, everyone crowds the entrance so it's cramped. It's worth it though if you want good food! We got lucky and got there just as a table was opening and the crowd came as we were sitting.. Waitress did not introduce herself though.. She was pleasant even with the amount of traffic. We will be there again!! read more

Food was good not great. The wait staff was overwhelmed when two of us went in for lunch. We had to ask for water and then ask for a menu. We called her over to order and we waited a good twenty minutes for two wraps. We then had to call her over in order to pay. She never once asked us if everything was okay. If she had I would have told her the homemade chips were so dark that we couldn't eat them. That was the kitchens fault. Anyway, I won't go back unless I have time to kill. read more

Stopped by for breakfast on a Sunday morning and the tiny parking lot was PACKED so I figured they must be doing something right - and they are. Was treated to a good breakfast (not mindblowing, but how many breakfasts are?) in this quaint little establishment. Had the "build your own breakfast skillet" which was filling and good. The service could have been a little faster but Its hard to complain given how busy they were. My only quibble? The broccoli in my skillet tasted as if it were frozen not fresh. If Yelp allowed half stars, I'd give the Pantry 3 1/2 as 3 might be too low and 4 might be too high. Overall, an enjoyable option for breakfast in Lancaster. I'll be back! read more

I got their bacon mushroom cheddar omelette with a side of bacon.. that omelette was HUGE. Their bread is higher quality than most, which caught me off guard- Nice lil added touch. The food was incredible except my side of bacon was burnt to a crisp (which i couldnt eat because i just had gastric bypass surgery). Womp womp! Best thing was the loaded peach oatmeal with frozen yogurt. To die for!!! We had the sweetest server, Mary. My go to breakfast spot. It's constantly full due to its small size and high demand but the people working there never make the wait feel long. The menu is unique with well plated skillets. It is a must try breakfast spot for the county. Their brewed coffee is even good in comparison to other breakfast spots like it. The pricing is on par with a diner yet the quality supersedes that. read more

Probably my favorite place to get breakfast. It's small, cozy and has a fantastic breakfast menu! Everything that I have ever eaten there has always been great! My all time favorite is their Croissant French Toast which you can get by itself, If I really want to gorge out I go with the Croissant French Toast Breakfast Platter which consists of their delicious croissant french toast (of course), your choice of meat and scrambled eggs with cheese! Ummm yum!! I was so excited that they had a breakfast platter with a side of scrambled eggs that came with cheese without a special request, a perfect breakfast for me. Service isn't always the best, but the servers always seem to make it up to customers with the best to their ability whether it's making a joke, taking something off the check (without having to be complained to), or making sure that your coffee is piping hot for the remainder of your meal. read more

Visiting from out of town and wanted a non-chain place for breakfast. This place was rated pretty well, so we went out of our way to come here. Parking lot was packed, a great sign IMO. Went inside and there were actually 2 tables ready and waiting. We were greeted and seated quickly. JuJu was our server and she was fabulous, friendly and efficient. The food? Oh! It was amazing, fresh, generous portions, and fast. The entire crew worked together seamlessly and really seemed to get along well. This place is excellent. Five of us had breakfast there today. One of our local friends brought us and everything was great. Three of us had the egg skillet combos, one had oatmeal and one had pancakes. The food is just great. Period. The service was also great. My coffee cup was always full and the prices are really good. On a recent weekday morning, three of us went for a late breakfast (nearly 10 AM). Despite at least one quarter of the tables being empty (but not bussed) there was quite a wait. so...family and i have been here 10-15 times since our initial review back in 2012. food is still good. but there is one glaring detail that really has tarnished our experience here, and it's not an anomoly..seems to be getting worse every time we are here. i'm not sure if she is the owner, or the manager, or what. but the woman who is probably in her 50s, has long grey hair usually worn in a pony tail, and has a long-island type accent has ruined our opinion of this place. you simply cannot operate a restaurant with someone who routinely screams at her employees and gossips. she is all smiles and nicety to the customers and then when she gets a few feet away she is screaming at the other servers and kitchen staff. we can't stand to be here eating for under an hour, not sure how any of the employees can bear to work a full shift. i would have PTSD if i had to deal with this woman on a daily basis. prayers for the workers!! we won't be back!! read more

All I can say is WOW! My family and I totally love this place. Went here on the recommendation of other Yelpers. First let me say the restaurant looks like a hole in the wall, but it is busy for a reason. The food is outstanding. Their croissant French toast is super delicious. They are famous for their homemade baked oatmeal with any kind of topping you can think of and also their breakfast skillets. We have tried their meat lovers and country skillets. When speaking with other customers on our first visit they noted coming weekly and no matter what you get it will be delicious. So far they've been right on! To say the least, I think we finally found the best breakfast restAurant in Lancaster. read more
