Stayed in Mexico City at the Intercontinental last week on Monday and Wednesday nights.
Had a customer dinner Monday night, but we ate such a large lunch late at Takoya so I got 3 items:
The Lobster Bisque, the Colossal Lump Meat Crab Salad, and the Crispy Rice Salmon.
The crab salad is truly amazing. Zero work, literally just putting horseradish into your cocktail sauce and away you go! So delicious, had a couple small shells but I got over it quickly.
The Lobster Bisque is also delicious. You can taste the sherry, lobster meat, and it's creamy. I would have licked the bowl if we didn't have company.
The crispy Rice Salmon is special. Diced raw salmon, fried rectangle of rice, along with sauces that will melt this thing in your mouth. Crunchy rice gives it a crazy texture you don't expect with sushi.
The others got traditional entrees and it looked really good- Chicken Parm, and the Chilean Sea Bass looked epic. I had food envy but kept eating more of my crispy rice.
Too full for dessert. The service is spectacular here. Top level, really a great place.
It gets busier later in the evening. Had almost an empty restaurant for 7 PM dinner. We also ate here Wednesday night at 10 and it was pretty packed! I only wanted a snack so I got the Crispy Rice Salmon again, and destroyed their bread and another Crab Meat Cocktail. Twice in 3 days. Both times just literally blew my mind.
Worth not exploring more outside, but next time I will go out of the hotel to try authentic cuisine, but this place is killer.
Thanks to the team here, I didn't get names but I loved the atmosphere and the level of professionalism with service.
I will be back! read more
