This was probably my third time going to this restaurant, and as before, I love it! We had some fish tacos, an aguachile, and a zarandeado; everything was perfect, just as I remember! I appreciate the constant quality over time. The service was also excellent, and the prices are really fair! I will include this restaurant in your itinerary, without a doubt!

A friend & I were walking around CDMX when we decided two things were important: good food & cocktails. We found them here. Our server suggested the fried shrimp tacos with guacamole and a platter of grilled shrimp. We gobbled them up & washed them down with the tangiest margaritas you can imagine. Mission accomplished.

My girlfriend and I went during dinner time and there were a lot of seats inside as people usually sit outside. We got the shrimp, the fish of the day, and guacamole, which was one of the best meals we had in Mexico City. You really get the bang for your buck. We also got tacos, which were very well made.

This place was great! From the service, to the drinks and food! We had the grilled shrimp and grilled fish entrée which were really good. I like the shrimp with the garlic butter the most! It was all cooked perfectly. We also had black beans with rice and maduros. I would want to eat that garlic shrimp time and time again.

La Zaranda is one of the simply cool, casual restaurants we ate at in Mexico City. There is indoor and al fresco dining, with so many good looking twenty and thirty-somethings I thought we were filming a telenova. We never had the pre-Hispanic cooking technique of the Zarandeo. Most of the food was cooked on a charcoal grill. The owner helped us through the menu. We enjoyed the tasty Pulpo Octopus "wings" for appetizers. The table had a multitude of hot sauces and we tried them all. The whole snapper was boned, filet and grilled. It was the best seafood we had in Mexico City, with different seasonings on each half, and moist to perfection. Less successful to me were the grilled jumbo shrimps. Somehow I didn't care for the sauce and salt, but my friend liked it and all the shrimp were gone. Service was superb. The wine was well-matched by the owner. The relaxing ambience had me bookmarking this place for next time!

I had camarones zarandeados & their soft shell crab taco. They were all delicious! But the one that I will go back for is their soft shell taco. That taco has to be one of my top 5 best taco I had ever had. DELICIOUS!!

Came here to get a drink and soak in CDMX atmosphere on our first day! Cute little place with indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for indoor as there were a lot of people smoking outside. It's still open which was nice so we could people watch! Servers are nice, most speak English! We ordered a few appetizers and beer. Guac and salsa were yummy! Note- this is fairly touristy as it's in the circle with all the CDMX letters for pics and where most people/tourists come to grab a bite and day drink during the weekend! None the less, cute area to hang out. Also a nice juice/tea place next door.

This place was really good. Lots of seafood options at an affordable place compare to the states. The steak was a little on the tough side and the shrimp could have used more flavor. The veggie plate was amazing. Staff was a little slow to respond. The ambiance is inviting.

Whole fish with butter and lime. Highly recommend!

The food here is delicious - we split the whole fish with butter as well as 3 tacos (the volcano, a bean taco and a fish taco). Everything was really great with lot cheap beer options. The location has always been busy when I've visited but service doesn't lack.

Oh my god. One of the best place to have fish tacos in Mexico city! Don't miss it. Also the shrimp tacos and the fish in spicy sauce is amazing. The service is very friendly, the moment we sat down, they brought us some baked tortilla chips and different salsas to snack on. The vibe in this place is just great, its definetely a must when you are in Mexico DF

Best spot in Mexico for a modern twist on traditional cuisine. Good prices. Try the tacos, octopus bbq wings, and grilled shrimp. Cocktails: carajillo! Good spot for lunch or to 'pregame' for the club Paraiso next door!

From left to right: too greasy, too salty, and too dry.

We then kicked things off with the arancini, which set the tone right away--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. For mains, we shared a spread and honestly couldn't pick a favorite: the Octopus Tacos were tender and packed with flavor, the Rabbit Tacos were unique and delicious, and the roasted seasonal vegetables "al mojo de ajo" were simple but so satisfying. The marinated pan-fried salmon and fresh trout were both beautifully cooked and thoughtfully seasoned. Every dish felt intentional, beautifully presented and well executed. But the real showstoppers were the desserts. The fresh goat cheesecake with orange, grapefruit, and lemon was bright and perfectly balanced, and the whisky chocolate crème brûlée was rich, smooth, and unforgettable. Desserts truly knocked it out of the park. Bonus points for the cocktails--my hubby was a huge fan. Great food, great drinks, excellent service and relaxed ambiance made for a wonderful overall experience. Highly recommend adding Temporal to your Mexico City dining list.

Then, allow the friendly staff to bring as many items from the menu as you can handle. Come with a group so you can share. An absolute must is the whole fish done à la Contramar, one side of the split fish coated in a punchy parsley sauce and the other in a red adobo rub. Served with flour tortillas (which are refillable) and black bean dip, you'll be instructed how to compose perfect bites. Then, choose your own adventure! We also had both the 4 piece each shrimp tostadas and tuna tostadas. Radically different so getting both doesn't duplicate. The pasta (spaghettini) with clams was buttery and garlicky and the pasta was surprisingly not overcooked. Biggest surprise was the grilled soft shell crabs (with corn tortillas). They came pre cut then reassembled so it was easy to pick them up and pop them in your mouth. The grill flavor was fantastic and we were all impressed. We finished with a slice of coconut cake which was like a caramel coated macaroon. Perfect! Large wine list by the glass and bottle, many cocktails, sangria and beer to choose from. Definitely a place to visit when in Mexico City. Sorry for the lack of photos-- we forgot because we dove into each dish (we were hungry and they looked so good)! Got one good one though...

What really says it all? We loved it so much, we went back the very next day. This was the only restaurant we repeated during our week-long stay, which should tell you everything. The menu is extensive and thoughtfully curated--fresh, flavorful, and something for everyone. We tried the croissant sandwich, salmon deli nut sandwich, chutney mango deli sandwich, santos ahogados, fig chipotle deli sandwich, pear honey deli sandwich, and the spicy tuna deli sandwich. The sandwiches came with a standard simple salad. Every single item was delicious, well-balanced, and satisfying in that "clean but filling" way. The tables had two delicious spicy chili oil like condiments which elevated each of these dishes. And the juices--WOW. So refreshing, vibrant, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The perfect complement to the food and ideal for starting (or resetting) your day. If you're visiting Mexico City, Ojo de Agua is an absolute must. With such a wide menu, you're guaranteed to find something you'll love--and very likely come back for more. Highly recommend!

We tried a few juices, the chicken tomato salad and the salmon tacos. The salad was huge with a big portion of chicken, avocado and many toppings for a reasonable price. The tacos were smaller but flavorful. Taking off a star because my salad arrived almost 15 minutes before my boyfriend's tacos arrived and the restaurant was pretty empty. The lights were out in the bathroom and in part of the restaurant, so not sure if they were dealing with a partial power outage and impact to the kitchen. Still recommend for the food!
