Our group found this by mistake. What great fortune it was. It's a bustling place with top notch service. The michelada (here called a preparada) was outstanding. Food was otherworldly. We followed our server's recommendations for tacos. Each was unique and outstanding. So much flavor. So much freshness. Think Torchy's Tacos but authentic and twice as good.

Shrimp and fish tacos

Buzzy eatery, great for tacos and drinks. Very busy and lots of tables for group outings. Loved all their food options and their drink menu is perhaps twice the length of their food menu. They are packed at night, would recommend going during the day for a better ambience. Get their shrimp tacos, so delicious! The homemade salsas are great on everything!

Cute spot!! The place was packed both upstairs (which seems to be a different restaurant) and downstairs but we were able to be seated right away on walk in. The lighting is dark but the ambience is fun nevertheless! Always good to see a lot of people at a spot. Drinks were delicious. The tacos (flor de calabaza and rellenito) were pretty ok - not my favorite tacos but still pretty good. Might recommend the flor de calabaza quesadilla next time! Heads up they will ask if you want guacamole and I misunderstood and they brought out guac w what I believe was grasshoppers. Had to reorder without the bugs and the guac turned out to be yum, pretty standard. Prices are fair!

Not sure exactly what you want to eat? Head to El Parnita and order one of everything! That's what we did, and I can't recommend it enough! The tacos are different than most other tacos you'll find in the city, so it was definitely a nice change of pace. Speaking of pace, this is a spot you could easily hang at for a while and order in a leisurely pace. You won't feel rushed to eat, pay your tab, and leave, though with how fast the food flies out of the kitchen, you'd never guess it! Service is quick, friendly, and knowledgable. You'll want for nothing. It's got some nice indoor/outdoor style seating that lends itself to the wandering musicians that stop by (who the staff will happily ask to leave for you if you're too shy). Also, the ice cold beers. I cannot express how glorious the ice cold beers are on a hot day in the city, washing down delicious tacos. Sure, you can get cold beers lots of places, but something about El Parnita makes it hit different. I can't explain it. Just go and see for yourself!

We came here our first night in Mexico City and it did not disappoint. It was packed and there was a simple, written waitlist (no online system) in which if you weren't there, your spot would be skipped. We were quoted a 45 minute wait but it ended up not taking that long - but we had missed our name being called. Fortunately, there was availability at the bar. The tacos and ceviche we ordered was delicious - the lighting is dark but the ambiance is still excellent! There was music paying (from a sound system) and the lights were changing colors around. This was a place were were able to leisurely chill and we didn't feel rushed to order, eat or pay.

Budín de elote and gelatina de cajeta

I had three "viajero" tacos, which consisted of pork loin and pork leg, avocado, and red onion on corn tortillas. They were very filling, and I would have been satisfied ordering just two. For dessert, I tried the "gelatina de cajeta" and "budin de elote". The "budin de elote" (Mexican corn pudding; kind of like corn bread) was deliciously moist and not too sweet. Such a quintessential Mexican dessert, and El Parnita makes it perfectly. It's a must-order if you're dining here! The "gelatina de cajeta" (gelatin made from Mexican caramel, known as cajeta) was very sweet. I enjoyed the first few bites, but definitely preferred the corn dessert. I went on a Friday during the late afternoon, and the restaurant was quite loud and lively. Not necessarily bad, but something to be aware of.

Open air taco spot on Roma, was extremely busy by 2pm....had 3 tacos that were all delicious. The sauces provided were good, the olive oil based one was super unique. Would recommended.

Eat here! Good food, good prices.

Walking in I thought we were in for a bit of a hipster experience with tourist prices. Ordered the tlacoyitos (bean + cheese tacos) + panelita (cheese torta). Delish and the perfect amount of food to share with my sis. The two entrees + agua fresca + sparkling water came out to a whopping $8 USD. 10/10 would return.

The best vegetarian tacos! I had a pumpkin taco and bean and cheese taco. Can't recommend this place more.

This place is quite busy almost every day of the week which is telling on just how good the food is. It has an eclectic vibe and just what you think when you think of a restaurant in Mexico City. The crowd is mainly local which is amazing. Menus are in Spanish, so you'll need to use an app for translating (if you don't speak Spanish). My favourite part - they have quite a few vegetarian options and all so delicious. Highly recommend this place!

O M G Tacos are forever redefined for me now. The ambiance is loud and festive. They're only open Friday Saturday and Sunday... and they pour all they have into HIGH QUALITY, interesting Tacos. Amazing.

Pork and shrimp tacos

Came here alone at the recommendation of a friend - as the menu states each order contains one taco. I had one of the tacos of the day with cierdo (pork) and one of their shrimp tacos (the one that starts with an H). Total $102 pesos. One thing that I liked is the tortillas seemed handmade. The tacos are more expensive than at a mercado but you are paying for the ambiance. There were actually a fair among of people there for a Wednesday afternoon. The service was only ok- perhaps because I was by myself. I asked for a glass of water which I received (you have I ask in Mexico - they will not automatically give it) but I also needed to ask for silverware and I noticed that several other tables were given forks and knives automatically. Would def recommend this as a date spot or for eating out with friends.

Food was delicious. Great service and ambiance. The tlacoyos especiales were the best

Came here with the family and we ordered several pescado and Camarones tacos along with guacamole and a few drinks. I was very disappointed with the fact the tables are quite small and plates they serve are massive. It was so difficult to even eat. I was not too satisfied with the extremely tough tortas, they just tasted a bit stale. I was left a bit unamused by the tacos and ceviche overall. Yes, it does attract a lot of young hip crowd but it probably is more for the types who like to be in an environment that just feels buzzing even if food is average.

Veggie tacos options - mushroom tacos were sold out, but those come highly recommended!

We then kicked things off with the arancini, which set the tone right away--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. For mains, we shared a spread and honestly couldn't pick a favorite: the Octopus Tacos were tender and packed with flavor, the Rabbit Tacos were unique and delicious, and the roasted seasonal vegetables "al mojo de ajo" were simple but so satisfying. The marinated pan-fried salmon and fresh trout were both beautifully cooked and thoughtfully seasoned. Every dish felt intentional, beautifully presented and well executed. But the real showstoppers were the desserts. The fresh goat cheesecake with orange, grapefruit, and lemon was bright and perfectly balanced, and the whisky chocolate crème brûlée was rich, smooth, and unforgettable. Desserts truly knocked it out of the park. Bonus points for the cocktails--my hubby was a huge fan. Great food, great drinks, excellent service and relaxed ambiance made for a wonderful overall experience. Highly recommend adding Temporal to your Mexico City dining list.

Very fresh and affordable healthy options! We stopped in on a weekday afternoon after walking by…read moreearlier and seeing how packed it was. We tried a few juices, the chicken tomato salad and the salmon tacos. The salad was huge with a big portion of chicken, avocado and many toppings for a reasonable price. The tacos were smaller but flavorful. Taking off a star because my salad arrived almost 15 minutes before my boyfriend's tacos arrived and the restaurant was pretty empty. The lights were out in the bathroom and in part of the restaurant, so not sure if they were dealing with a partial power outage and impact to the kitchen. Still recommend for the food!

What really says it all? We loved it so much, we went back the very next day. This was the only restaurant we repeated during our week-long stay, which should tell you everything. The menu is extensive and thoughtfully curated--fresh, flavorful, and something for everyone. We tried the croissant sandwich, salmon deli nut sandwich, chutney mango deli sandwich, santos ahogados, fig chipotle deli sandwich, pear honey deli sandwich, and the spicy tuna deli sandwich. The sandwiches came with a standard simple salad. Every single item was delicious, well-balanced, and satisfying in that "clean but filling" way. The tables had two delicious spicy chili oil like condiments which elevated each of these dishes. And the juices--WOW. So refreshing, vibrant, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The perfect complement to the food and ideal for starting (or resetting) your day. If you're visiting Mexico City, Ojo de Agua is an absolute must. With such a wide menu, you're guaranteed to find something you'll love--and very likely come back for more. Highly recommend!
