We were totally pleased with Palate Pleasers. Mo was so easy to talk to over the phone and create a delivery order for our affair. The consult really was helpful and understanding what we needed and how much we needed without ordering too much. Let me start by saying the chicken penne pasta with the béchamel sauce and spinach was delicious. Both pans went except for a couple of servings left. The balsamic brussels sprouts were delicious as a side and we ordered crispy bacon to be delivered on the side to add to the brussels sprouts later, we ordered the French string beans almondine, but requested butter to be used not olive oil and they were delicious. Both vegetables were a hit the jalapeño cornbread and the dinner rolls, Everyone loved along with the chicken satay skewers, which I highly recommend the peanut sauce was delicious. There wasn't a person who didn't comment about it. Thank you again for everything. I will use pallet pleasers again. Their store is clean. I would review the actual food, but there never was any. So perhaps their cuisine is good, I wouldn't know. What I do know is that we hired them to cater a high end birthday party and after stringing us along for months, they ghosted us 25 days before our events. It was more than clear they didn't have the staff needed to handle our event but instead of giving us time to get a new caterer, they simply stopped returning emails and calls. I've catered many events in Annapolis and never experienced this level of unprofessionalism before. My emails and calls were all direct with Erik Daniels and mostly consisted of asking him when we could get our menu finalized and when he could do a site walk thru. After 5 emails and at least as many calls, I realized they were not going to do our event. I thank my lucky stars I was able to find someone else to do the event at the last minute. ***Edited to add, I wish I'd visited Yelp before hiring them. Apparently another customer was ghosted and her event never happened and the caterer responded with "we are very busy and sometimes an event falls through the cracks". Wow. I guess mine was one that fell through the cracks. If you book them you better hope your event doesn't. Honestly that's unbelievable for them to admit, let alone do. read more

Eric immediately responded and was SO pleasant to work with!! I cannot say enough good things! My husband and I decided to work with Palate Pleasers to cater our wedding and it was the best decision! Most importantly, Amy (the executive chef) made the menu so personalized to us. She helped put together an incredible meal that matched our personalities perfectly. Because I am a vegetarian, she suggested a caprese salad with a tomato carving station. I repeat, a fresh tomato caving station. My friends and family could not stop talking about it. My husband has a big sweet tooth and loved the idea of an ice cream bar with all the homemade toppings. It was delicious. The company is also family owned and operated. One of my favorite parts of the entire wedding planning process was driving to Annapolis with my mom to meet with Amy Daniels and her family. They had so many creative ideas and made the entire process fun! It was supposed to be a 15 minute stop by but we ended up chatting with their team for more than 90 minutes. Amy worked hard to design a menu that matched both our budget and our tastes! At the tasting we asked her to make a few adjustments, and by the day of the wedding everything was perfect. We could really tell she had taken our notes and the recipes were just right. A great thing about Palate Pleasers is that their menu is just representative. For example, we wanted salmon and chicken dishes that were slightly different from what is listed on the menu. Amy had a quick call with us, made some suggestions based on what ingredients would best be in season the day of our event, and whipped up new items for the tasting. I also can't speak highly enough about the staff at Palate Pleasers. Our wedding was outdoor under tents, and the service was so quick that the ice had no chance to melt before everyone was sipping cocktails. The bar staff in particular deserve gold stars for keeping me and my groom well supplied with water throughout the very warm evening. Did I mention the cake yet? Almond cake with buttercream icing, absolutely to die for. Everyone was kind and accommodating. No complaints, the event was a rocking success. What an evil place to put next to a gym!!!! So even after I gained back the calories that I just lost by devouring the apple cake that I always buy from here, I always come back for more. In addition to their awesome fresh bakery items, they have a freezer with day old bread, muffins, and croissants for 25%! And if the freezer is fully enough, you may get the frozen items for free when you buy something there at regular price. It all depends on how full the freezer is. So it is to your advantage to stop by often to see what they have. You can't get much better than that! Another one of my favorites from this place is the Fig Torte. It is a spread with Mascapone cheese and dried figs. This spread is always a party hit! Now I have never had them cater anything, but they are high on my list of choices. I'm definitely one of their "Gourmet to Go" customers. Ladies, if you have ever been to True Value's (on Forest Drive) Ladies' Night in Fall, Palate Pleasers usually cater with their mini cheese cakes and yummy fall cookies. They have out of this world Cesar salads so much so that i do not order them any where else. I have gotten spoiled. Everything they make is awesome. I had them do my wedding cake. It was almond cake with almond brittle filling and butter cream on the outside. My cake was beautiful even better then I imagined it to be. It was moist and tasted delicous. I have been for almost 2 years and people still rave about my cake. I even froze the top layer with proper wrapping of the foil. On our 1 year anniversary our cake tasted just as good and the day we got married. I am going to have them make us a small cake same flavors every year for our anniversary. We knew after meeting with Amy that we would be using this company. This place has one of the best caesar salads I've ever had, but the chicken (if you choose to add it for a pricey amount) is incredibly dry and not worth the addition. The plain salad itself is actually at a good price. The place is pretty expensive, but sometimes worth it. They usually make a pizza each day and sell them by the slice (not always hot) and they are pretty good with interesting toppings, but you'd have to warm it up yourself. We used Palate Pleasers catering for our wedding last weekend and it was a HIT! We had so many compliments on all the items served and I was super happy with the service that was provided. Mind you, I did 99% of our planning from Okinawa, Japan and from the very first phone call, I was sold on this company. They were very understanding, offered several suggestions along the way (as I was increasingly overwhelmed, I lost any creativity I once had!), and met us at the venue on a Sunday afternoon (Thank You, Sally!!). The serving staff that worked that evening was AWESOME! They were so easy and friendly, met all of our needs and our guests were super pleased. On the occasion of my Mid's graduation from the Naval Academy, I was seeking a local caterer to provide a light lunch for about 25 family members and friends. During my search I came across Palate Pleasers and was impressed by their eclectic menu and the variety of dishes that were available. It was a pleasure working with Amy (chef) and Eric (manager) preparing our menu. They provided great suggestions and did not lose patience when sudden additions and and adjustments were requested. They delivered everything on schedule and provided a wonderful presentation of our food choices. Truly professionals! Among the foods that were really standouts were the summer salad with a unique raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Our guests could not get enough. The shrimp salad on endive was fresh and very tasty and was a favorite starting point. Being from the northeast, I wanted to include some local dishes and the "light lunch" became heavier. The addition of mini crab cakes and shrimp and grits were real crowd pleasers. Of course, there was an a dessert table with a raspberry filling white cake with vanilla icing was really special. If you like chocolate, and who doesn't, the chocolate mousse cups are a must. If it wasn't for the warm weather, I would have taken a hundred of them home with me, although not all of them would have lasted the trip. Yummy! The cost may have been a bit pricey, but the quality of the food and the reliability of the service is priceless. We ordered food for about 25 people, but could have fed 35. There was plenty of food. On such an important day that starts so early in the morning, having the food all set up when we arrived, took a lot of anxiety out of the day. While visiting Annapolis in May and again in September, I stopped in to Palate Pleasers to get prices for a graduation party. When I met with Amy and her mother, they were lovely, and seemed willing to accommodate our ideas. However, after communicating with them several times, I never received any proposal based on our menu choices. When I followed up with Palate Pleasers, I did hear from Sally, who told me that they were "working night and day" and that they would get back to me by the end of the week. Needless to say, over seven weeks have gone by, and I have heard nothing. I have received proposals from other caterers in the area, and I have chosen one of these companies for my party. I don't want to work with a company when I feel they are not interested in providing customer service in a timely manner. read more
