Pit Boys Catering - Xlarge and Large crabs - Caterers Near Me - Annapolis, Maryland

Stopped into Pit Boys on Forest Drive for a pit beef fix and walked out very happy. The sandwich comes **loaded** with thin‑sliced, smoky beef that actually tastes like it just came off the grill, not out of a deli case. I asked for it medium‑rare and got a tender, juicy pile of meat with that classic Maryland pit char that's getting harder to find. The portion is generous, the price is fair, and it hits the spot if you're craving a real pit beef sandwich. service is straight‑forward and friendly, and it's the kind of no‑frills local spot where they clearly care more about the smoker than the décor. I'd absolutely come back here next time I'm in Annapolis and in the mood for pit beef. read more

I went here because its close by and I like all you can eat crabs. The service is ok at best. Food is ok. Im not overly political and I know this is blue Annapolis but after they put out a commercial bashing Trump Ill just go to the Crab Shack which has better deals anyhow. I prefer the folks that make my food keep their politics out of it. read more

Fave spot for pit beef and crabs!! Love to grab a pit beef sandwhich after work and everything is always hot and yummy! I have had crabs here before as well and they were running heavy! Jamie that works there is great! Super attentive and friendly! read more

Crabs were overcooked and mushy. I preordered and came early to pick up and order was 20 minutes late. By the time I got home the hush puppies were almost cold. Disappointing. read more

Food is not edible. Bad service too. Nasty owner doesn't care. Served us rotten crabs then said well the all you can eat crabs aren't good and you should order large and charged us for both. read more

Good fried oyster sandwich, pit beef, and hamburger but corned beef Rueben was a bit tough, fried clam strips were less than other restaurants and a lot of very small bits. All 6 crabs had only 1 claw. But we're heavy. Service was excellent and place was neat and clean. read more

Tried here for the first time. After big storm I wanted the snakehead. But they were out. It was a good place. I'd come back

I've eaten here 3 times and I've tried to ignore staff's attitudes when I've dined in but I don't think I can continue. We have ordered crabs, crab legs, shrimp, chicken wings, ribs and quite a few sides. (Sometimes all in one visit) The food has been decent. We eat a lot and we tip well! We're not loud or rude either. I'm kind of tired of them watching us the entire time as if we're gonna steal something. I've been here enough times! You should know me by now! You can improve your customer service and not pre judge. read more

This place is great, come here very often to get crabs and they are always fat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The extra large crabs we ordered were fine. So were the baked beans and cole slaw. The problem was the pulled bbq pork. We ordered two pounds and it was mostly barbecue sauce. We could barely find the pork in it. It looked like slush instead of pulled pork and after three of us tasted it we just threw it away. Probably won't order anything but crabs here again. read more

The customer service is terrible. After spending $145 plus a tip for take out the owner's daughter could not even give brown paper. I guess when you eat there for the same amount of money paper is free. Poor judgement read more

Other than the good service by a sweet and helpful waitress, this was a pretty dismal experience. We are from Baltimore where Pit Beef sandwiches are routinely delicious. They are about as rare as hen's teeth in Annapolis so we were excited to try this place. Yikes...I don't think they've ever had an authentic example to emulate. Either that or they just don't much care. In addition, the fried chicken was without exaggeration the worst ever. (in fact based on the smell, I suspect it may have even been rancid...one bite was enough to say no mas...) read more

Craving crabs this weekend so I finally decided to give in. My regular go to was closed so I decided to try Pit Boys since it's up the street. NEVER AGAIN... ordered 2 dozen medium males extra seasoning for $150 and they were far from medium. I got bald babies .... Crabs were small, light weight and hardly any seasoning. Smh read more

OMG! How does Pit Boys do it? This is the second lobster I have ordered from Pit Boys and it is cooked perfectly....large, beautifully presented for take out and perfectly moist. I am from New England, so very fussy about how lobsters are cooked. Even our Yacht Club that offered "lobster night" over the last several years managed to overcook the claws....not Pit Boys. The first time I ordered, I thought it was beginner's luck that I got a great, perfectly cooked lobster...oh, no, the second one was even better! Thank you Pit Boys! We also got a shrimp wrap, onion rings, fries, crab balls and hush puppies....all delicious! Pit Boys is now our fave seafood take-out place! Love it! read more

I came here since I had a Groupon, placed an order and then was told they would not and never did issue the Groupon. The staff was short and rude in their speech. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere read more

On July 27th, after a day of sailing, we decided to buy 6 crabs and some sides. CB sold us 6 EXTRA LARGE crabs (about $75) which they brought to the counter in a bag for take out. Back at the boat when we opened the bag we found one extra-large, one large and four medium size crabs but, of course, we paid for 6 extra-large. We were first time customers and too tired to go back to complain but we won't be going there again. Crabs are expensive enough but when you get cheated on sizes then that's a bit too much. We should have taken some photos of our order but didn't think of it till later. Buyer beware and check your orders! read more

Not sure why this review is placed as "Catering" since thisreview is for the dine-in restaurant. Perhaps they wish to confine to catering so not influence restaurant business. Three bad experiences in the past two months: 1. We enjoyed their amazing steam platter for two back in March that included 2 huge lobsters, steamed claims and mussels, oyster on half shell, and a huge amount of steamed shrimp. We wanted this platter again the second week of May and I called ahead to ask when is the best time for having this same platter. I was told to arrive before 7:30 pm. We arrived at 7:15 pm, were seated, ordered beverages, and waited for a server to take our order. We let her know we wanted the Seafood Steamer Platter for two and were told they were out of lobster. Lobster is the highlight of this platter and ended up getting a steamer platter consisting of a handful of steamed shrimp, briny small oysters on half shell, and cooked to death steamed clams. Why weren't we informed earlier in the day that lobsters were running low or were not available? Why isn't there a notice on the chalk board when entering with "Out of Lobsters"? Server was not friendly in any way shape or form, didn't see her very often though the place was pretty empty, and still paid a good amount for a subpar steamer platter. 2. We go there for lunch 3-4 times per month. It was raining outside and when entering, my boyfriend slipped and fell on their floor. Instead of asking if he was all right or if there was anything they could do, the statement received was "Perhaps you should be more careful." I kid you not. Pit Boys is responsible for maintaining a safe environment which includes taking care of wet floors. A senior citizen or anyone with a physical disability would have been injured or more. 3. Went there for lunch today. Went to the counter to place an order and let them know it was dine-in however, when looking for a table, no tables were available so sat outside (and "yes," it was hot!). No service at all. Not a single utensil or napkin provided, had to beg for condiments, never stopped by to see if I needed a beverage refill...nothing. No service at all. Was shouted at by a large woman who said we were basically breaking all Pit Boys dine-in rules as a reason for not providing service. Perhaps servers are related to the owner(s), and have met the owner on previous visits who is wonderful, but entitlement is running rampant allowing for an inappropriate way to speak to not only customers, but once frequent customers as they will not see us walking through their doors with slippery wet floors, rude and entitled service, lack of transparency when items are not available yet still payong $75+... again. read more

Here, for me, it's all about the pulled pork sandwich. Very big. Very tasty. Their fries are also great. Count on filling up if you get them both! It's to go only, tho. But it's something you'll love. read more

Definitely a carry out place. We called Sun. morning to see if they had Md. Blue Crabs. How bout a dozen, heavy, sweet ex. large and jumbo and more reasonably priced than Annapolis Seafood!. We'll be back and gonna give that pulled pork a try. I AM from Memphis!!!!! Also, they had melons, canteloupe and homegrown tomatoes from a farmer on the Eastern shore! All delicious. read more

Great place, the food is excellent. Pluses: Good pulled pork, beef and chicken Staff is nice and they were very helpful Portions are generous Loved the crab cake I wouldn't recommend this as a place to eat at - no A/C. Its all stand and casual. Its a great value for to go orders. read more

My wife and I were planning a very small wedding, but planning a more relaxed BBQ reception for the extended family and friends. We found a few worthy places, some small and some big. Because our site was Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, we preferred somewhere in fairly close proximity. After a detailed search, we stopped by the Pit Boys restaurant to test drive some chow. We were very satisfied and reached out to them later. We were surprised to learn the owner, Marla, handled our request directly. The pricing was a little on the high side based on our research, but there was no other company able to provide comprehensive services (i.e. food, adult beverages, setup, tear-down, etc). Additionally, it's never a bad thing to support local businesses. Unfortunately, our party ended up being quite a bit smaller than our original estimate, Marla was still great about the entire process. Although Marla was not able to meet us at the park, Shannon and Joanne met us several hours before the event to get things setup. They actually beat us there by at least 30 minutes. They were as nice as could be and were great from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend them for any party, large or small. You will not be disappointed. read more

Food is just ok , not much to brag about . Pricey for what you get especially when you don't get much turkey or beef on the sandwhich

Pit Boys recently catered a red carpet LeVian Gala at Jared the Galleria of Jewelry in Annapolis Maryland. The food was creative, classy and delicious. It was a refreshing taste of Maryland. Jennifer, Nicole, Becky, Kimber and Kendall provided professional and courteous service. They went above and beyond to ensure that the event was a success. Each tray had an assortment of fresh options carefully and artistically arranged. It was a surprising and refreshing change from boring veggie trays. A foodies dream. I recommend them highly for your next crab feast or party. read more

Pits Boys Catering is the BEST!....we recently used them for a wedding engagement party. They are professional, friendly and their FOOD is awesome! We LOVE the CRAB DIP!.....seriously, it is the BEST crab dip anywhere. But, the main reason we went with them is because we heard how great their PIT BEEF and PIT TURKEY sandwhiches were. We found out about them at a REDSKINS game. They were catering a pre-game event outside the stadium and our friends had tickets to get in. The staff was alot of fun to be around, they did a great job setting everything up and got there in plenty of time before the event started. We would definetely recommend them! They are located in Annapolis, MD---but we found out that they can cater to just about anywhere in the MD, DC and VA areas. And they said they also do BIG event outings like golf tournaments. Marla is the owner and just did an amazing job with everything. We would highly recommend PIT BOYS CATERING to anyone. read more

I'm not sure why they advertise doing catering. I emailed once, called a week later, and finally visited a week later. It took a week after that to finally hear from the owner, who didn't sound enthusiastic about catering food for $15 a person (which sounded totally reasonable to me- each entree on their menu is less than 8, so why can't they cater a large amount of these items with two sides?). Anyways, the owner was nice, but she promised me a quote the following day and now, a couple weeks later, I am still quoteless. I found another place that starts at ten dollars a person- and is delicious, so we are going with them. Sorry pit boys. read more

If you LOVE BBQ, Pit Boys is the place for you! Their BBQ can't be beat, with its sweet and tangy sauce. If you prefer sliced beef, pork, ham or turkey, they have that too-piled high on a bun. The meat melts in your mouth! I've had their MD crab soup and clam chowder and they are both delicious--with the seafood! (So many restaurants don't add enough of the seafood!). The cole slaw or potato salad is an excellent choice for a side, or their homemade Old Bay Potato chips. They also have great onion rings. Oh, and I can't forget the baked beans, they are great! I have been to the Pit Boy shop and have attended functions that Pit Boys has catered. They do a fantastic job. The owner and staff are very professional and friendly. They will go the extra mile to make the customer happy. They present a wave of personalism that makes you feel special and makes you want to come back for more! read more

Unfortunately due to their complete lack of professionalism I will not be using Pit Boys again. Recently my Granddaughter contracted with Pit Boys to cater a baby shower for her sister on a Sunday afternoon. As the 30 or so guest began to arrive we became concerned due to the absences of the caterer so she called to find out where they were. It appears that they had completely dropped the event from their schedule and when she pointed out that she had a confirmation number proving that it was not a figment of her imagination they're response was basically Oh Well. They did not offer any realistic resolution to this problem other than we can pre-cook some burgers and hot dogs and bring them over in a couple hours..really? What about the salads, what about the main course, what about the dessert? If you can't trust a caterer to show up what's the sense? Never Again read more

Consider Pit Boys for catering your wedding or event. We had our reception in a lovely large home with 200 guests. As a nutritionist I wanted a menu that was healthy and tasted great. The staff was happy to meet and surpass my wishes! I was happy I could relax and know the food would not be your 'standard' reception food. It was great tasting and presented in a way to match the lovely atmosphere. I couldn't have found better. read more

Went to a crab feast at Harley in Annapolis catered by pit boys. Worst crab feast ever. worst crabs ever. drinks were warm very warm sitting in hot sun on a table.
