**Review for Well Dunn Catering** Well Dunn Catering delivered an absolutely extraordinary experience for the 125 Years of Forestry reception. They transformed what is normally a standard office space into a dreamy, elegant setting that felt straight out of a premier ballroom. Every detail--from the décor to the lighting--radiated sophistication and creativity. The staff was exceptionally professional, friendly, and attentive at every turn. Their seamless coordination made the evening feel effortless. The chef's menu was nothing short of Michelin star-worthy--each bite offered a delicious blend of seafood and savory meats that left guests raving. The tea-smoked duck, in particular, was a standout favorite and gave the event an almost otherworldly touch. A special thank you goes to Sara H., the event planner of the century. Her attention to detail, genuine warmth, and thoughtful touches elevated the entire experience. She has a rare talent for making every interaction feel personal and every event feel magical. Thank you, Well Dunn, for doing exactly what your name promises--an event that was *well done* in every possible way! read more

My daughter and her husband had their wedding at the Daughter's of the American Revolution (DAR) in Washington DC catered by Well Dunn Catering. The guests kept commenting on how amazing and imaginative the food was from the cocktail hour, to the main course, to dessert, and to the boxes of little pizzas to take away after the party. One guest mentioned that she felt that there were layers of surprises in the presentations, for example we had a gelato affragato cart for dessert along with the cake! Ramona was a dream to work with as well as her whole team. She was very easy to work with during the menu tasting and made excellent suggestions as to what would make the party feel special and reflective of our request to have amazing food. The service was very professional but really friendly. I highly, highly recommend Well Done Catering for any event! read more

We've used Well Dunn catering (specifically Paul) for many years for our annual awards gala, which has over 350 people. Paul always works with our budget needs and helps us with the whole vibe - menu, linen/silverware, and flowers. We enjoy working with him and his team before and during the event. We always received great feedback from our guests on food and the décor. read more

We worked with Well-Dunn for our wedding and could not have been more thrilled. From selection to the tasting, the food and service on the actual day, everything was top-notch. Many of our guests commented on how good the food, service, and attention to detail were. The staff was warm, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Well-Dunn is the best in the city and you will never be sorry to work with them and their team! read more

We were so fortunate to have Well Dunn support our recent fundraiser, and I truly can't say enough good things about their team. From start to finish, they were incredibly professional, attentive, and an absolute joy to work with. Every detail was handled with care, and their staff went above and beyond to ensure our guests were well taken care of. The food was exceptional, beautifully presented, and received rave reviews all night long. They were worth every penny and then some--we couldn't have asked for a better partner. Highly, highly recommend! read more

We had Well Dunn cater an event at Eastern market. They were absolutely fantastic! Ramona was amazing to work with prior to the event and the day of the event was a breeze for us. She took care of absolutely everything we needed. She went above and beyond to ensure every detail matched the theme, including getting the chair cushions to match the various table linens we selected. She made great recommendations, including the espresso martini affogato bar, which was a hit for our guests! I can't recommend Well Dunn, especially Ramona, enough! I will be using Well Dunn for any events in the future. read more

5 stars all around! From planning to designing to executing and everything in between, Well Dunn is perfection. Cameron D. and the whole team are an absolute delight to work with. They offer beautiful menu and decor options, solutions to any dietary requests, and great personalities to go along with it :) They are my go-to caterer in DC when I need to produce for white glove and stunning events. Well Dunn did a fantastic job catering a reception at our home for about 80 guests. From the start, the professional Well Dunn team made the process very easy for me and delighted our guests with excellent food, drink and service. I will definitely use Well Dunn again to cater events. read more

We hosted a 50th wedding anniversary, and Well Dunn Catering was phenomenal. The event was spectacular. The food was great (both taste and presentation) and the staff was so professional. They were warm and accommodating as well. It was a pleasure working with the team leading up to and during the event. I wouldn't have changed a thing. read more

Even though I walk by their rowhouse every week, I hadn't experienced Well Dunn Catering until the COVID-19 pandemic hit. During the summer of 2020, they hosted a pop-up bakery and flower market on Thursdays from 12pm-5pm. The set up is simple, but safe, and their pastries are delicious. My wife and I ordered the blueberry crumble cake (wow- amazing!) and a s'mores bar. We will definitely be back as they change their menu weekly. read more

We recently worked with Rosario at Well Dunn for a dinner of about 100 lawyers and guests at the Organization of American States - it was a smashing success. Everything was flawless, the setting was beautiful and the food was delicious, with scrupulous attention to dietary restrictions and preferences. Only compliments from all the guests. Rosario was delightful to work with, and we appreciated her concern for our budget, especially when we added a last minute kids dinner for our 18 young perfformers. read more

Well Dunn catered a large corporate event for my organization. They did an exceptional job with the quality of food, drinks, and professional service. In particular, the manager Nina and her team went above and beyond - they made sure my colleagues hosting the event had a bite to eat before the guests arrived, paused service during prepared remarks to avoid distractions, and packed us all individual gift bags with extra food and a bottle of wine at the end of the night. I would highly recommend them for corporate events as well as weddings and parties. read more

We hired Well Dunn for our wedding. It was one of our best and favorite decisions. Kaylee, in particular, was so grounding and assuring--by far the most incredible person for the job. And the team was magical. They took care of every single person even in the rain. I have never seen a dinner so beautifully orchestrated and delicious. They sent us home with lots of leftovers and we felt so happy we chose Well Dunn. They were professional, responsive, and on top of it! Plus the food was incredible!!!!!! Highly recommend. read more

After studying Yelp closely and looking for local Capitol Hill business, I reached out to Well Dunn to cater an up-coming cocktail party at my home; their salesperson Ashley reached out to me the same day. We quickly selected items for an extensive menu and set up a time for a walk through of the house; 20 mins later, Ashley had a full plan. This was a party for less than 20 people so I thought I wouldn't get too much attention - I was wrong. The execution was even better than the planning. A team of 4 supported my event - I thought this was gong to be too many, it wasn't. The food and drinks were exceptionally good. They hit every item I'd asked for in the prep & planning. Guests stayed well past the window I had booked so the Well Dunn team quietly transitioned everything over to my plates and quietly left without disrupting the event. Ashley checked in the next morning to see how things went and I appreciated the thoroughness of the follow up. Planning, Execution, and Cost-effectiveness were all spot on. I will continue to use Well Dunn for my events. read more

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Well Dunn. I was hesitant to use a caterer for my annual spring event because I was concerned about it being too "formal" and I did not want to loose the casual homey feel. After speaking with Ramona at Well Dunn she assured me that I could have excellent food and excellent service without losing the vibe I wanted, and honestly, they could not have done a better job. The food was excellent and Ramona is extremely skilled at helping figure out a menu. The staff was absolutely extraordinary . . . perhaps the nicest and most helpful people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. From prep to clean up . . . it just could not have been done better. This might have been the first event I have thrown where I had as much fun as my guests because I had absolutely nothing to worry about and I am not lying when I tell you numerous guests called me the next day to find out who catered the event. I can't wait to thrown my next party . . . Ramona at well done is on my speed dial. I am so grateful to have found them. read more

When we first booked the Barns of Wolf Trap for our wedding reception, I'd already had a caterer in mind for the event. Then the Barns told us we could only use a caterer from their approved list for liability reasons. Devastation. After receiving proposals and menus from a few caterers, we settled on Well Dunn. We couldn't have made a better choice. Katie, the woman we worked with, created an exquisite menu with a beautiful tasting beforehand in their gorgeous space on 11th street downtown. I was nervous when they wanted to include crabcakes because anyone from around here knows there are very few people who can make a good one.... a year later and my guests are still talking about their food, especially the crabcakes. Moreover, Katie from Well Dunn went above and beyond during the actual event. She actually got there a little early and was helping the florist with the arrangements and helping the band set up. If you ever want a first-class event that you won't have to worry about, call Katie at Well Dunn. read more

I used Well Dunn for my military promotion ceremony. Of the preferred caterers for my venue, they offered the best food selections (especially the desserts), ensured I had plenty of gluten free options, and came in within budget (unlike the other quotes I got for basically the same service!) Nick was my contact and was communicative and professional, as were the staff in site. I'd absolutely use them again. read more

This review is over two years overdue as they were our caterers at our wedding and we've been married for over two years, but I wanted to make sure I give my thanks to these folks! Our point of contact, Rhiannon, was amazing. Not know was she professional but she was also so kind and helped us with our choices, and she went to extra mile and gave us more advice about wedding logistics than almost anyone else. She went above and beyond her job and to this day I'm so, so thankful we were paired with her! On our initial visit, we were already treated to complementary canapes and drinks, and that was before we committed to them as our caterer. It was a great first impression! I must also point out our tasting night... It was when they were in the old military hospital and it felt so grand being there, being served privately, and we also got to share the experience with our mothers! The tasting alone was so special. During the wedding, the service was phenomenal. Everyone at each table was served at the same time and they had such a professional staff. They had one person assigned to my husband and I and she made sure we got drinks and food during our photography season, during the cocktail hour. The drinks were delicious, the food was the best wedding food I've had to this day, and the service is by far the best I've ever encountered. Really, I cannot compliment enough the royal treatment we had that night! Everything went so smoothly and I feel we can really attribute that to our wonderful caterers. read more

Disclaimer: My husband and I are really passionate about quality and healthy food and we enjoy the DC food scene 3-4 nights a week. Event Details: Wedding for 200 people, September 2017, Purcellville, VA Upon our planner's recommendation, my hubby and I attended an open house at Well Dunn in DC in search of a caterer for our tented wedding. Once we tried the food we were hooked. We contracted with Well Dunn and worked on a menu in preparation for the tasting. This entire process was fluid and simple even though we were indecisiveness. They were kind enough to allow our families to join us at the tasting and it was a treat to share that experience and the planning process with them. On our wedding day we knew we were in great hands with our coordinator, Yulia! They were extremely professional, the service was excellent and the delivery was superior. I had many guests tell us that the food was hands-down the BEST they had ever had at a wedding and I could tell from their empty plates when we did our rounds. From the tasty bite-size appetizers, to the perfectly cooked steaks and juicy fish, to the late night snacks - we were beyond pleased. Moreover, the presentation and design was exactly what my hubby and I had hoped for. In short, Well Dunn is a fabulous catering company and I highly recommend them for your wedding! I am so happy we hired Yulia and her team of experts! Highlights: *Allowing us to bring our own liquor, wine, and beer and still serving our guests (to include our signature cocktail!) *We had a non-traditional ceremony where we did not process out afterwards and instead stayed to take pictures with family. Some of the staff came over to our location from the cocktail location and fed the family that was taking pictures with us! We were so grateful. *Dinner service was well coordinated and the dishes all came out at the same time for each table. *Having our own personal server running after with refreshing drinks before we even thought to ask and ensuring we were fed throughout the evening. Thank you, Well Dunn crew!! read more

I tried to use Well Dunn. I requested a menu, it came three days after it was promised. In a phone call (that took days to arrange) I requested changes, they took over a week to make and then Paul had forgotten everything we discussed in the call and we had to have the call all over again. In the end I used another, far more responsive caterer. I've no idea how the food is because I could not get an adequate planning response. I was arranging a memorial service and this terrible experience just added to the stress. read more

Well Dunn Catering just catered our wedding and I cannot recommend them highly enough! From our point of contact Cameron's responsiveness, to perfect tasting food, to all of their servers' impeccable service, Well Dunn are the best. Everything tasted delicious and looked exactly the way it was supposed to and everyone working the event ensured that every guest (including us as the bride and groom) were looked after. Moreover, they accounted perfectly for a host of food allergies across our 120 guests and almost every guest independently commented that the food was incredible. They are definitely a must have if you are organizing any event and will provide absolutely everything they specify in their contract and more. read more

We worked with Yulia, who is the most prepared, professional, and reliable event coordinator I have ever met. We didn't have a wedding planner, so she went the extra mile and made sure that our plan was thorough and that we didn't miss any detail. She was always responsive to even the smallest request for information or assistance. Every detail of Well Dunn's preparation and execution the day of the wedding was perfect. Not just good or great... perfect. I had to step back a few times and just take it all in. The entire staff made sure the venue was prepared well ahead of time, and they did a fantastic job. Many details we didn't even notice until looking at pictures in the days after the wedding. The waitstaff was extremely attentive and courteous to everyone. We had a server, Sonya, assigned specifically to us. When I couldn't find anyone else in the wedding party after the post-ceremony photos, Sonya helped me out, all the time offering me drinks and hors d'vores. Many people told us stories of the bride and groom not getting a chance to enjoy their meal at their wedding. Well dunn made sure that didn't happen to us. We were at a sweetheart table, and they served us first. They even brought out our entrees well in advance of the other tables. They made that suggestion so that we could socialize at the guests' tables while they were still eating and we were finished. It was a great idea. One of many suggestions by their staff that evening that were extremely helpful in making the event so enjoyable for all. Speaking of the food... it was phenomenal. Sometimes you'll hear meals at weddings referred to as "wedding food." It's not a compliment. Usually that means dry, overcooked meat and fish. Several guests complimented us on the meal saying, "that was NOT wedding food!" Well Dunn deserves the absolute highest praise. read more

When I need a place to grab something to get me through the day I never have to think too long before I come to the instinctive thought. Why not have it my way today. I stop in line and before I know, it I have enough food to feed a lot of people. If you haven't already, I suggest you start heading there before the wait gets longer. They cater great food and they are a great company! Will always recommend!!! Best in the area!!! read more

We had nothing but good experiences with Well Dunn as the caterer for our wedding. Joanie was easy to work with and accommodating for any changes that came up right until the day of. The staff were professional and the food was as great as I'd hoped it would be. They even took care of setting some things up that we didn't expect them to help with. When we look back on the many positive memories of our wedding, it's impossible to separate the experience Joanie helped us create from how perfect our night was from beginning to end. They really cared about making sure the day went smoothly, and I'm so glad we went with Well Dunn! read more

We have been told by several guests that the food at our wedding was the best they have ever had at a wedding. Also, multiple people have asked us for the recipe of the Salmon! My wife and I were both delighted and impressed by the excellent service of the Well Dunn staff. At one point, my wife and I were down at the bottom of a large hill at our wedding venue having some photos taken by our photographers. Just as we started on our way back up through the grasslands to the main wedding area (still at the bottom of the hill), we were greeted by one of the Well Dunn staff members with a tray of hors d'oeuvres and a smile. It was small touches like that which made our entire evening a true pleasure. Well Dunn has very much impressed us, and while I'm sure the team is responsible for many of the details together, I would also like to express our gratitude to our account manager, Yulia. As my wife and I have both worked in the conference world ourselves we know that large events like this don't go off well if they don't have a good leader. Working with Yulia was a pleasure. She always had guidance when we needed it and even provided us with suggestions that fell outside of her domain. Her attention to detail, expertise, and good humor were greatly appreciated. At the risk of sounding too formal, we recommend Yulia and the team at Well Dunn without reserve. read more

We recently used them at our wedding. Everyone was raving about how good the food was and how professional the staff was. Yulia is a pro and very on top of things. I had no issues with this company and the way they catered to our guests made it seem "like a State Dinner". Every one on the waitstaff was very accommodating. I highly recommend them to anyone. I didn't have to worry about them at all, they had this thing down! If you want top notch, detail oriented wait staff for your important event, this company is for you. If you want to focus on your guests and not worry about a darn thing, this company is for you. They think of everything so you won't have too. One less stress on my special day. :) read more

Using Well Dunn to cater my wedding was one of the best wedding planning decisions I made. I can't say enough good things about them- from the food, to the service, to the staff, everything was perfect. We had the good fortune to work with Yulia. Yulia is an absolute delight as a person, and is extremely efficient and organized as an event coordinator and catering manager. We did not use the services of a wedding planner, but with Yulia on board to manage the catering, rentals, and timeline of the event- as well as touching base with other vendors as needed- I didn't miss having a wedding planner at all. The event staff at the wedding was very professional and helpful, even fanning my husband and I on the dance floor and refilling our drinks every time we set them down! We received so many compliments from our guests on the quality of the food. I never go to a wedding expecting to eat an outstanding meal, but I truly felt that the food served at our wedding was absolutely fantastic, and definitely something I would be very pleased with if I ordered it at a restaurant. Well Dunn also customized an appetizer for us to replicate a common food from my hometown, and did a wonderful job that delighted our guests. I would hire Well Dunn again in an instant, and I really hope other DC-area brides will do the same! read more

Well Dunn catered our wedding in May, 2013 and they did a fantastic job. They came highly recommended to us by my dad's company which works with them quite frequently on events in Washington, DC. I did not have a wedding planner and Yulia Shegai took over nearly every role that a day of planner would have served for us. She set up our place cards, guest book, card box, framed photos of our family members that we wanted to place on a mantle in our venue- and much much more. I cannot thank her enough for all that she did. Other caterers we spoke to before hiring Well Dunn would not agree to take on all those tasks. The food was very important to us too- my husband and I had lots of ideas for appetizers and the entrees and Well Dunn was able to do everything. Our appetizers were so tasty. They made us small pulled pork sliders with purple cabbage slaw, a mini fried chicken and waffle with maple syrup, the cutest little miniature taco with peking duck and an asian slaw on top, a delicious little crab cake, a fig, gorgonzola and balsamic drizzle bruchetta and a grape and rosemary flatbread pizza. (I was able to post a few pictures of the apps). They also made a very tasty french 75 for a signature cocktail for guests when they walked in the door. My only complaint would be that the entrees were not as delicious as the tasting- however I guess that should be expected when serving a room of 100 people at the same time. I don't think I've ever been to a wedding where the entrees were "restaurant quality." The other thing I must compliment them on is the wedding cake. They offered us a wedding cake included in our price package. While we were limited on the flavors and icing we could choose, we couldn't believe we got our wedding cake included for no extra charge and it was beautiful (not to mention delicious). We got a 3 tiered butter cream frosted cake with one layer or red velvet, one layer of carrot cake and one layer of tiramisu cake. It was white and simply decorated- just gorgeous! The service during the wedding was fantastic- they had a dedicated waiter for my husband and I and he jumped through hoops for us all night- popping up from time to time to make sure we had drinks and to see if we needed anything. I also really loved the tasting prior to the wedding. they make you feel like royalty- with a dedicated bartender/server that brings you cocktails, appetizers, and then serves your entree options in this beautiful little townhouse on capitol hill. This is probably the longest review I've ever written on yelp so I'll end it here!! But I found that choosing a caterer for a big event like a wedding was very hard- and its good to know as many details as possible. I would absolutely use Well Dunn again - and especially Yulia- if I have another big event to cater. Thanks to Well Dunn and their staff for making our wedding so wonderful! read more

We worked with Yulia at Well Dunn catering for our wedding. From start to finish, this was wonderful experience. Yulia was a delight to work with and made sure that we got everything we wanted. She was very flexible with last minute adjustments and always had our interests in mind. The food was excellent; we customized a few appetizers and entrees; everyone commented on how great the food was! As busy as we were at the wedding, we made time to eat and it was fantastic. We interviewed several caterers, and no one came close to the good feeling we got with Well Dunn. This is a top notch outfit who isn't ridiculously priced. I feel like it was a deal considering the excellent customer service and quality of food. I'd definitely hire them again and recommend them to everyone. read more

I recently photographed a wedding that was catered by Well Dunn Catering at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. They did a fantastic job with the food and the service was incredible. The communication between them, the client, the event planners, and the other vendors was also impressive. It's easy to recommend a vendor when you are a guest or client at an event, but when you are a vendor and you see "how the sausage is made" you get a completely different perspective. And from that perspective, I can only say that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them! read more

Well Dunn catered our wedding in early July of this year at the Decatur House, and they exceeded our rather lofty expectations. My wife and I could not be more pleased with our experience with this caterer. Here are a few of our favorite Well Dunn memories: 1) Yulia's responsiveness. Yulia was our point person at Well Dunn, and - over the past six months - her average response time to our e-mails and calls had to have been under 10 minutes. Even late at night and on weekends. 2) The tastings. We had an initial tasting back in December to decide among at least four different DC-area caterers. Well Dunn had the best food. We then had a second tasting in March to decide among the different appetizers and entrees and we were again blown away. The mini-BLTs and the "dessert bar" stood out, in particular. 3) Javier. At the day of the wedding, Well Dunn assigned Javier to shadow us and make sure we were cared for. Our photo shoot was in front of the White House in the sweltering summer sun, and he brought out trays of lemonade and hors d'oeurves to make sure we were hydrated and satiated. During our dinner, he literally fanned us when our venue was hot. (I also heard that he convinced the Secret Service to let our vendors use another entrance, but that may just be a rumor) The morning after the wedding, one of our guests told me that the food was the best she had ever had at any wedding. Her words literally were "five star restaurant quality food." Thank you to Well Dunn for helping create such an unforgettable wedding experience for us, and thank you to our Yelp friends for telling us about Well Dunn. :) read more

We worked with Yulia for my daughter's wedding and I can't recommend them enough. The menu planning and attention to detail was second to none. We found Yulia to be helpful and proactive in making suggestions for the day of wether it was a vendor suggestion or a food recommendation. It was her suggestion to serve warm apple cider with cinnamon stick as our guests arrived for my daughter's November 7th Wedding. The guests loved that touch and it's this type of attention to details that has Well Dunn head and shoulders above other caterers. The servers were professional, courteous, well groomed and did a great job serving. The food was served hot and efficiently. Overall I couldn't be happier with the experience. read more

Choosing Well Dunn for our wedding caterer was the best decision we made throughout the planning process.
