The first bad experience ever at the Paddock. Met a friend we were going to have beverages. Staff first did not acknowledge that we were waiting and then a server had a very nasty attitude and said don't stand there there is a table in that corner. Will not be returning anytime soon.

Seafood heaven. There is so much lump crab over the Expera guess whipped potatoes, and the fillet.

Oh, I absolutely loved this restaurant It was my first time going so I wasn't sure what to expect. I got a fillet with whipped potatoes and asparagus, which was covered in delicious chunks of crab. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Hesitant to try initially as they had 3 stars. We had a good solid experience with good service and good food. I had the Cobb salad - ingredients were fresh, portion was large and I had them do my chicken blackened. Craig had the haddock with jumbo lump imperial and Nantucket Bay scallops. Very good. He had coleslaw and matchstick fries. Very good. Will come back.

Ehh was not impressed with the food or service. Over priced. You want crab cake? Go to the First Post... 2 min down the street. The food is so much better and the customer service is excellent. Food- crab cake was bland. Rice tasted like microwaved rice. Steak freezer burned. The hostess, her name started with K, can remember didn't even drop by our table to ask about water or how the food was until we were done eating. Won't come back, just go to the First Post

SERVICE: 4.5/5 FOOD: 2.5…read more We came by for Valentine's Day, as we were in the area for a birthday party and as much as I really wanted to enjoy the meal, it was just not for me. I was able to snag a last minute reservation about 2 days prior to Valentine's Day. I was looking forward to this dinner. I think it was very cute what they did with the menu, making it heart themed, the napkins were folded into little hearts and they draped pink tablecloths along with roses on each table. I had the Parmesan oysters to start, and they were small yet delicious. Unfortunately, the main courses just did not meet my expectations. I had the tamarind pork chops, and while the pork chops were soft and chewy, the sauce was not good. Just wayyyyyy too salty. I heavily struggled to finish the sweet potato and the parsnips as well due to the same issue. I did not finish. Service was excellent, we could tell Shayla tried really hard. Our table wobbled and she immediately tried to fix it. It was a busy night, and they had lovely piano music playing along with a busy bar. The aesthetic of this hotel is very nice, but unfortunately the bathroom was very dirty as well. Another pro side, would be free parking in the garage for the weekend even for this cute holiday.

I asked if they had any Vanilla Ice Cream as it wasn't on the menu and they did so purchased a scoop to go with my apple dumpling. The kitchen was slow and took way to but they did have to bake the dessert. They did add some extra ice cream as it took about an hour. I do think they forgot about me at first and the bar tender had to run back at least two occasions to check the kitchen. The service from the bartender and the dessert were perfect. That season dessert was so good and highly recommended it.

My wife had the fish and chips. Food was good and plentiful. Service was very good, ate with some old friends, there was no rush, they gave us plenty of space. The menu is varied, specials are not typical fare, but also do not become science projects like so many "creations" do. The food is left to speak for itself. Affordable. Two small criticisms, can be loud in certain areas. They are very accommodating in moving you. The parking lot. Walking over the bridge can be an issue with cars. Worth the trip.

It sounds bold, and it is, but it works beautifully. The broth is rich and deeply savory, the cheese pull is perfect, and the crispy rings add a texture you never knew the classic was missing. The pork chop remains the star of the menu--huge, expertly seasoned, and cooked with precision. It's widely considered the best in the city, and honestly might be the best in the state. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor, it's the kind of entrée you end up recommending to friends for weeks. Their octopus is another standout, prepared with surprising delicacy. Tender, not chewy, with a perfect char that adds just the right amount of smokiness. It's balanced, refined, and one of the most memorable small plates you'll find locally. And don't leave without dessert--the crème brûlée is phenomenal. Silky smooth custard under a flawlessly torched sugar crust that cracks just right. Simple, classic, and executed perfectly. Between the inventive dishes and the warm atmosphere, The First Post remains a must-visit for anyone who loves great food done exceptionally well.

The server did a great job with making sure that our drinks were filled, and we had to go boxes and brought our food out in a timely manner. Some of the appetizer choices were the calamari, fried kale and crab claw lollipops. All three were absolutely outstanding, and the portions were large. For dinner, our choices are rockfish, lobster, mac & cheese, filet mignon, or grilled chicken green curry. Again, the portion sizes were large and everyone enjoyed their meals. We were able to choose from a flourless chocolate torte or cheesecake. I forgot to mention that the Caesar salad was so fresh and the dressing was outstanding. I would like to come back and experience the restaurant and their entire menu. The upstairs had a fun, urban feel with a fireplace and a cool bar. We felt comfortable and it was a fun vibe.

You see, back in 17th century England, private houses would open their homes to the public and sell food and beer. Hence, public house. Over time, they dropped the "lic house" and just called them pubs. Because you never dropped the "lic house" makes me think that you haven't evolved like you should have. And frankly, your food is proof. In fact, it even made me nostalgic. But not in the way you might think. You see, I loved making fun food concoctions when I was a kid. My sister and I would watch this corny show called "Zoom" on Maryland public television, where the kid hosts would make recipes sent in from all over the country. We'd make homemade peanut butter cups using Jif and semisweet chocolate chips. Or weird sandwich combinations like pickles and potato chips and cheese and jelly. The seafood egg rolls weren't the worst part of my meal, but they were definitely sophomoric--as if a kid chef-in-training was asked to whip something up from Chinese food leftovers. Seafood should never taste fishy, yet these did. One bite hit me like something that had been sitting a little too long above the waterline. Not to mention, they were laying on a greasy glob of some mayonnaise accompaniment disguised as a fancy garnish you'd see on MasterChef. One word: Ick. The ahi tacos. Oh boy. My mind fills with seawater the moment I think of them because they tasted as if they had been fished right out of the ocean and then placed on my plate. They were wet. Soaked. Drenched. The gelatinous seaweed clump on each taco wasn't culinary-forward, just unappetizing. I took one bite and wished I could spit it back out, but I reluctantly swallowed it. My esophagus is now aquaphobic thanks to you. The moment the coconut jasmine rice hit my mouth, my tastebuds took the red eye to the coconut tree haven of the Maldives. Normally, this wouldn't be a bad thing, but the rice and coconut had no cohesion. It tasted like my younger self dumping a handful of shredded coconut--the sweetened kind my mom kept in the pantry for the wool on her Easter-shaped lamb cake--into a cup of microwaveable rice. The only redeeming aspect of our meal was your kind, charismatic waiter. He was lovely in every way--attentive, sweet, and helpful. He would have been an incredible host on "Zoom." If only his personality made the food taste better. For your sake, I hope you learn to evolve your kitchen's offerings beyond the amateurish trio I experienced. If not, your restaurant's bones may end up fossilized alongside every other place that couldn't adapt.
