In a word, WONDERFUL! The food, service, and convenient location were all perfect for our large party meeting there from PA and VA! Great experience! The daily special was excellent, and prices were quite reasonable. We will be back! read more

A mostly locally-sourced menu that is mostly pescatarian. A few chicken entrees are offered. All of the multitude of stir-fries are excellent. The staff is attentive and service is prompt and friendly. read more

The service was good, we ordered for pickup by phone and they were helpful and polite. However when we got home, we found the food to be of poor quality. The spicy tenders were obviously low quality and the first bite was cartilage, and they were somewhat soggy. The Indonesian stir fry noodles were horrible - some soggy, others stiff. Overall the food was average at best. Unfortunately I would not recommend this restaurant even though the staff was polite and helpful read more

This place is very special and I love ordering their Brie chicken dish. Service is very friendly and they go above and beyond. Very nice vibe. Also, they offer kombuchas as beverage options!! read more

Where to start here, they singled me out as a Hispanic With a table of three other white people said that our table was loud so they could serve the white people at the table but not me. For reference there were only white people around us but they said it was because my voice "carried" other people complained so we are supposed to take it. That's fine we can take it in the chin we obviously are not important read more

This review is for vegetarian items only..which actually were quite a lot on the item. The service was quick and friendly. We got the vege tempura, the mushroom and pita dip thing which were very very good. For main i got the moroccan chickpea soup, the zuccini parmesan with a side of penne in cream sauce. It was a lot of food..but everything was really good. The soup was flavorfull too. The picky eating toddler got the tofu with salad and fruit and he ate it all. read more

Menu has a variety of selections for lunch and dinner. Everything is fresh and healthy. The Waitstaff is friendly and thorough.

I came to Frederick at the end of last week from the SF bay area of CA. I picked this restaurant as one of the few I would try while in town. I was not disappointed at all. The food was fresh and healthy. The portions and price were both reasonable. The service was wonderful. I was amazed that when I asked about alcohol in the sauce that the waitress was able to answer the question immediately without having to go ask. That has to have been a first for me. I dined here on a Friday night and had the Sechzaun Stir-Fry with Tofu over Brown Rice and the peanut butter square for dessert. I also had some bread and butter as well while waiting. I loved everything. When I ordered the dessert I had only planned on eating half of it and taking the other half home with me. One bite and it was like heaven. Before I knew it the whole entire square was in my tummy! It was the best dessert I have ever had in a restaurant. Because I loved my dining experience at the Orchard so much I brought a party of six with me to dine here the next day. Collectively we all had: Salads with dressing (the creamy garlic one was awesome), Chicken Salad, Southwest Chicken Sandwich, Curry stir-fry with chicken, Japanese Stir-fry (one with tofu and one with shrimp), children's pizza, Children's chicken nuggets, tempura shrimp, and last but not least the Peanut Butter Squares which everyone loved every bit as much as I did. If I find myself back in the Frederick are again this restaurant will be on the top of my list and I highly recommend it!!! read more

A nice location for light/healthy, less-expensive fare on Market Street. My mom and I stopped by for an early dinner, since this place was on my To-Try list for a while. She had an open-face sandwich on flatbread (served somewhat deconstructed at her request), and I had one of their stir-fries (you pick a style/flavor, and then a protein). Good quality, healthy ingredients, but the portions are a little on the small size for the price (tho prices are reasonable for sit-down on Market). Coffee was good, the servers/service was friendly and attentive. There's a few outdoor seats available, and they have liquor license. A good choice when you want a meal out, but don't want something heavy. I'll be back. read more

I certainly don't understand the fuss about this restaurant. We dined here last night with friends and were surprised by the quality and portions. Ranchero chicken was flavorful, but not worth $22. I had the tile fish special. The fish was OK but portion small and it was a bit past it's prime. Grilled pineapple was very good but the broccoli side dish was just that - a pile of steamed broccoli, period. No seasoning. Now I like broccoli, but that is what I would expect at a chain restaurants. I do like that they serve healthy brown rice and lots of veggies. Our friends had sandwiches, which they liked very much, but we were surprised they did not come with any kind of side dish. Service was very friendly and the restaurant bustling and clean. A pleasant experience, but not worth the 4 and 5 star reviews. read more

The portobello mushroom melt and the grilled portobello mushroom sandwich are my two favorites! Everyone is so nice!

I went here for dinner about a month ago. Tuesday evening around 6ish. It was quite and not crowded. We were seated right away. I had the pan seared Moroccan scallops as a starter = great. I had the grilled southwest chicken sandwiches which was okay. I not a dessert guy but I had the cheese cake which was amazing. My girlfriend had the Japanese stir try, I tried it and it was good. The staff was really good; the place just has the warm in a comforting way. I can't remember the price of the bill but I remember saying "wow that's it?" I'm definitely a fan. read more

We went here for dinner. A short wait but no problems. Friendly staff nice atmosphere. Wife an I split the Humus & Pita app which was brought to out table quickly. Humus was pretty good. I wasn't as in love with the pita as it was very dense and heavy. We're not slow eaters...and even with that the entrees were brought out before we had finished the appetizer. Maybe 5 minutes from when the app was delivered the entrée was delivered. It made me feel rushed. I had the crispy chicken sandwich. I want to love this. The chicken was crispy and moist, The spicy remoulade was delicious, everything first rate....except I hated the bread. You ever have Wonderbread and you take one bite and the bread becomes a doughy ball with no texture. That's what there homemade (wheat?) bread is like. It looks great but you grab the sandwich and it just compresses. This would be so much better if the bread was at least toasted. Better still would be a firm crust ciabatta, Portuguese roll, or wedge of baguette. The bread just made the whole sandwich experience unappetizing My wife had one of the Japanese stir fry bowls with Salmon over Soba noodles. I tried some, it was tasty. Seemed a bit soy sauce heavy and the vegetables seemed a bit over cooked (maybe blanched before stir fried?) I would try it again, maybe choose differently off the menu. read more

Great place in downtown Frederick for lunch. Food was excellent. Service was somewhat slow but they were very busy.

I've been eating here for the past seven years. There has never been a bad meal. IMO this is the single most reliable restaurant in all of Frederick. I have tried virtually everything on the menu and while certain things I like more than others, everything has always been fresh and cooked to perfection. And the service is always spot on. Great place to bring little kids as the staff is always so accommodating. I particularly love their salads and specifically salad dressings which are home made. The veggie salad add salmon is my go to order. read more

This place rocks! The food is good and the people are friendly. What more can you ask for? My mom and I went for lunch and left rolling out. We got a main course dish. My mom got a lasagna thing and a fettuchini dish. They were two separate sized meals thrown into one dish, so she went home with plenty of leftovers. I'm vegan, so I absolutely love that almost half of the menu can be veganized. It gives me a big variety to choose from. I got fried tofu and spaghetti in a peanut Thai sauce. Just like my mom's, they were both separate meals that were put into one place, so it was huge! The Thai sauce was rich and creamy and the sesame tofu was crisp--without being oily. What a win. The prices are a little much, but the quality of the food makes up for that! I'd recommend it to anyone! read more

One of my regular spots (I work nearby). Really appreciate the vegetarian options. My go tos are: Pasta primavera: awesome portion which I eat over two meals! Garlicky, creamy. Lots of veggies which make you feel leas bad about the pasta Soups. Change daily. Good tomato soup, good beans soups when they make them. Vegetable hummus salad. The perfect salad. The fried tofu is delicious and I'm not a tofu fan. hummus looks and tastes home made and fresh. Again, good portion. I get it with the tomato Tamara dressing. Their side of bread is like a soft wheat bread? Yummy too! read more

If you're in Frederick, I highly recommend this place for brunch! The hummus and pita chips (see pic) were delicious and fresh and the omelette (see pic) was tasty too. The only tweak I'd make is to offer home fries/hash browns/a warmed roll with the meal rather than a cold roll. Service was friendly and quick, and portions were perfect. I didn't leave there feeling nauseous or overly full. It's the perfect place to recharge after a day of shopping! read more

A nice pick for a cultured meal in downtown Frederick. The restaurant is very small, but not too crowded to where you are uncomfortable. I went with a large group and we were seated in the back room up a small flight of stairs. Everyone's meals were fresh and brought out in good time, considering the size of our group. The portions are reasonably sized, and i have to say the salad was delicious! I just wish the plates were bigger :) i would probably get a different entree because I ordered Shrimp and vegetable Tempera... I misunderstood it to be Shrimp tempura & Vegetables. I got my plate and everything was fried. My Shrimp- understandable. But my cauliflower, my asparagus, my zucchini, my carrots. Just a bit much. Anyway, I would go again, but I like to try different places. (That's why we have Yelp!) read more

Great menu, great, fresh food including homemade dressings...good beer on tap...I could eat here just about every day. Salads are delish. I've had the zucchini parm both times I was there...sort of by accident...but it was a delicious mistake. Served with penne in a yummy cream sauce. The servers are great, except she was a little inattentive. I had finished my meal before she stopped by to check on us...I wanted some crushed red pepper and we were both out of water. Prices are a in line with the quality, freshness and portions you get. Restroom rating 7 out if 10. Bonus for having two unisex rooms rather than his and hers! read more

Welcoming atmosphere and great staff. The curry stir fry was delicious!! Great spot for vegans and non-vegans alike.

Came in here for lunch and got seating immediately (around 12pm). I chose to come here because 1) I street parked right in front of it and 2) it was 4 stars. It was a great choice! I chose to get a cup of soup (forgot what it was actually called...something curry ginger carrot soup...super vegetarian). It was pretty good. It felt super healthy. The waiter said all ingredients are fresh. I then chose the crispy southwest chicken sandwich. THIS was delicious. It gave me the whoa feeling when I took the first bite. The sandwich was just a bit some in size for $11. If it came with a side, maybe the price would have been more worth it and then they would have gotten a 5 star. I definitely recommend coming here for lunch. And if it's nice out, they have 3-4 outdoor tables. read more

Came here on a Saturday night for dinner. Had a short wait, which is to be expected on a Saturday night. Employees were very friendly. Food came out at an average pace and was very delicious. Traveling through on I-70 and wanting to avoid the usual highway exit fare, I detoured into Frederick and found this to be a cool little restaurant with some outdoor sidewalk seating. The menu is quite large and interesting. There was a whole section of stir fry options, so I decided to try one and opted for the Polynesian Stir Fry with ginger sauce and fresh pineapple over organic brown rice. It was quite good as was the gazpacho that I kicked things off with. There's a small but interesting draft craft beer list as well that includes some local brews. Service was pleasant and efficient. I didn't have dessert, but the ones that some neighboring diners had looked delicious. read more

This is downtown Frederick and so the scenery is very early American, which I love. Food is delicious. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. Chef takes the time to present dishes perfectly. Price is right on target. I think the only negative I can say is that like most Frederick privately owned restaurants, is a bit small so both times we have been, we had to sit outside and it was pretty cold with no space heaters. They have a good selection of vegetarian food and they do use Tofu on some of the items. I kind of wish they did a good house made veggie or chickpea burger, but hey I can go to Hippy Chick Hummus for that I guess. Street parking only but its all good because as you walk over, you get to peak at all the nice downtown Frederick shops. read more

Used to be my favorite restaurant... went with a friend and ordered the "special" of the day which was basically the same as the menu items (bowl of veggies with varying spices and meats.) I always order the stir fry bowls.. to my horror, the price of the special (which contains the same ingredients as the menu items) was TWICE the price of the menu. These are stir fry bowls.. run 13$ each. The "special" was 26$! My bad.. should have asked. Ruined my favorite place for me. I felt like I got scammed. read more

An egregious show of racism. A table complained of noise from our table (unknowingly) yet only one member of color at our table was cut off from service While the three white guests were offered another round of drinks. I am appalled and will never return. read more

THIS PLACE IS TRULY AMAZING!!! My guy and I were strolling in Frederick, trying to decide on where to have lunch. I peeked at The Orchard's menu, saw how many different items they had and decided upon it. It was around 1pm, and the place was quite packed. We were sat upstairs and greeted promptly by a sweet little woman with some rad tattoos. I was super thirsty, and ordered one of their house made lemonades which hit the spot on a hot day. My boyfriend enjoyed a craft draft beer. For our appetizers, we ordered the Spicy Chicken Tenders with creamy garlic dressing and the Hummus and Pita. Hands down, the best buffalo-style chicken tender dish we've ever had (no contest). The chicken was fresh, the batter was light and crispy, the buffalo sauce was just spicy enough, and the dipping sauce was phenomenal. The hummus tasted fresh and delicious, and the pita was FRESHLY MADE and just mouth-watering! The carrots and cucumbers helped to cool off our mouths from the chicken tenders. After thoroughly enjoying our appetizers, I knew we'd be in for a treat for our entrees. I ordered the Chinese Stir Fry and it was out of this world. There were plenty of veggies, like broccoli, carrots, peas, and mushrooms. The brown ginger sauce was absolutely delectable. The brown rice underneath was cooked to perfection. Seriously one of the best dishes I've ever eaten, no exaggeration. My boyfriend ordered the Crispy Southwest Chicken Sandwich, which I stole a bite or two of. It was legitimately one of the best sandwiches I've ever tasted, with The Orchard's homemade wheat bread... ridiculously yummy. I cannot wait to come back and try something else - this is one of those places where you just know everything on the menu is amazing. Thanks for the wonderful food, The Orchard!!! You've made this foodie very happy! read more

Fresh food, though sometimes I don't get the combinations, and the menu seems a bit limited.

Glass of wine+Sandwich=Perfect lunch. I literally, LITERALLY dream about these sandwiches. I don't know why it's so hard to get a good sandwich. You either get way too much meat or some weird condiment or the bread falls apart. Not so at the Orchard. Everyone I bring here loves them. Vegan? Vegetarian? Cheese lover? Orchard's gotchu. I really want to order other stuff on the menu, but I think I've got to try all of the 'wiches first. Service is always fantastic and happy, and the atmosphere is chill, quiet, and friendly. Just wish they had a rosé. read more

This place is pretty good- tons of vegetarian options and some interesting combos. I had the portobello panini, and while it was tasty (and the garlic sauce that comes on the side is delish) it was very difficult to eat as a sandwich. It fell apart completely so I ended up with a big mess and a fork and knife. I also wish the sandwiches had some sort of side option, as the sandwich didn't really hold up all on its own. My friends had different stir fries which they seemed to enjoy, but one had the tempura chicken and said the greasiness of the breading was overwhelming. It's always crowded here and it's pretty small, so I'd recommend a reservation. Lunch for four was $60, which seems a little pricy for the amount and quality you get. I'd probably only come back if there was a hard to please vegetarian in the group. read more

The Grilled Avocado & Brie sandwich was to die for! The sauce on the side was orgasmjc. Try the vegetable tempura for an appetizer (starter). Very generous portions with knowledgeable and kind staff.
