Chicken Marsala
Sonnia P.

I was in town visiting family and we decided to have dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. It's been years since I've been to OSF, and wow -- the nostalgia hit instantly! I ordered my longtime favorite, the Chicken Marsala, and it was absolutely delicious. The Marsala sauce was perfectly seasoned, and the noodles with that classic mizithra cheese were pure comfort for both my heart and my tummy. We wrapped up the night with OSF's famous spumoni ice cream -- the perfect ending to a perfect dinner.

The food was fresh, flavorful, and genuinely satisfying from start to finish. The drinks were solid too -- perfectly paired with a lively dinner crowd and good energy throughout the restaurant. Our server absolutely delivered. Even with the place buzzing, he stayed attentive, efficient, and completely on top of everything without ever making us feel rushed or forgotten. We had a reservation and arrived right on time, made even sweeter by the rare miracle of snagging a parking spot directly out front. The hostess greeted us warmly and confirmed our reservation, but then another hostess -- I assume -- stepped in and instructed her to seat us at table #13(that wasn't the actual # but it may as well have been) The tone alone told me everything I needed to know... and unfortunately, my instincts were right. I have a strong aversion to tables near bathrooms, server stations, or high-traffic areas, and of course this table was planted directly across from the silverware replenishment station. UUGGHHH. Constant movement, clanking silverware, staff traffic not exactly the ambiance I had hoped for. I almost asked for the empty table beside it, but for whatever reason, I let it slide this time. Thankfully, the rest of the evening more than redeemed itself. The Caesar salad was crisp and fresh, the sour dough bread is served hot with soft garlic butter, the chicken piccata was rich, bright, and comforting, and the Mizithra cheese pasta coated in brown butter was pure decadence. Then came the spumoni ice cream , combined pistachio, cherry and chocolate flavors the perfect sweet finale to the meal. A full three-course dinner for $30 that actually tastes this good? Practically unheard of these days. Despite my seating disappointment, the service and food absolutely earned another visit from me. Next time, though, I'll definitely convey my seating preferences.

2nd time eating here and happy it's around! Not the best Italian food, but I appreciate the quality and the prices that they offer. ALL of their meals come with the following - hot bread with butter - minestrone soup OR salad - spumoni OR vanilla ice cream That alone already makes it worth your money to come here. The service is ok, can be slow at times and you might find yourself looking around for your server. Their bread is always hot and melts the butter, the salad is not the best and would pass and maybe try their soup. Alcohol leaves you wondering if they added any to your drinks. Chicken Marsala is epic and makes me come Back just for that!

From the moment you walk in, the vintage décor and cozy atmosphere give it such a nostalgic, family-friendly vibe that's perfect for both group dinners and casual date nights. Your entrée comes with salad or soup. Table gets warm bread before the food arrives. Their mizithra cheese and brown butter pasta is truly unique. There's a picture of their updated menu, I'm posting a picture of the kids menu :-)

I love the odd spaghetti factory. My favorite dish there is the garlic and brown butter with Mezera cheese pasta. It's so good. I never get anything else there. I love their fresh bread and butter as well. I had this delivered by DoorDash and there's always something lost and delivery. Plus it was coming from about 20 minutes away. I obviously had to reheat everything and I got a little dry in the reheating. Sometimes deliveries just not as great as dining in. This is one of those situations, but it wasn't their fault that I had to reheat everything. We got two loaves of bread, which was awesome. The salads were pretty skimpy though. My mom had the chicken Parm. She said it was OK. My dad had shrimp fettuccine and except the fact that he kept spilling all over himself he liked it. Lol. I always recommend the spaghetti factory, but maybe not for DoorDash.

I remember The Old Spaghetti Factory when I was in college back in the 90's in Sacramento. Back then it was so busy you had to make reservations to get in and there were also lines of people waiting. I was hesitant to go to this one because I recently was at the San Jose branch and it wasn't a good experience. Well, Concord certainly changed my mind! The ambiance, look and feel of this restaurant is just how I remembered my Sac experience with the train and seating inside. The service was very good. He always checked on us. The menu still looks the same, except that prices are higher. Lol. We ordered: The Manager's Favorite with mushroom sauce and mizithra cheese & brown butter (and a side of meatballs): YUM! Just like how I remembered! I always ordered these 2 sauce combinations! How they kept the same classic flavors is incredible! Angel Hair with Clam Sauce: Hubby thoroughly enjoyed this. He said it was just like how it was back then too! Except he misses the linguini option. Garlic Shrimp Fettuccini: My son's plate was devoured so it must've been good. The minestrone, the house dressing, and the spumoni ice cream (at the end of our meal) were also just like how it was. All very good! Thank you for keeping the recipe the same and the classic flavors.

This restaurant has been around forever! I remember going when I was a kid and then at another occasion for a birthday party. Vibe is classic old school Italian American family friendly with unique lighting and decor, including a trolley in the middle of the restaurant you can dine in! Highlights are their homemade marinara, tasty meatballs, sourdough bread, creamy garlic buttery shrimp fettuccine, and high quality pasta. Meals come with freshly baked sourdough bread, salad/soup, and a scoop of ice cream (get spumoni!). Our server was great- attentive prompt and friendly. When we were there I saw 3 large party birthday celebrations so it's highly regarded as a place for special occasions with family. Prices are worth it for all the food you get- recommend visiting if you like classic homey meals!

We had a spectacular lunch here while on a roadtrip. We got the Meatball Monday special, which is a great deal, as well as mizithra broccoli and garlic cheese bread. Everything was so great the mizithra is worth a trip alone, as you can't get at any other restaurant I've ever seen. The decor was relaxing and beautiful, as are all Old Spaghetti Factories. The service was really great as well. Street parking was easy to find even at lunchtime.

I LOVE this place. We ordered goat cheese bread, octopus & oysters for appetizers. Yum. Probably the best garlic goat cheese bread I ever had. The octopus was very flavorful. The oysters did not disappoint as they were fresh. For our mains, we ordered oyster Rockefeller, rib eye steak special, chicken salad, carbonara & Bolognese. Delicious. Everything was fantastic. Not one thing disappointed. They had a Filipino man playing songs on his keyboard for entertainment. Loved it. Very pleasant sounding and too overwhelming. Just right. We had the best waiters and Chef Habib was so personable. I love the family feel. They topped our evening off with lemon cake & tiramisu. I have to say, I am a dessert connoisseur. I love all dessert EXCEPT lemon cake. I have converted. Their lemon cake is moist (hate that word), flavorful, tangy but not overwhelming. Just perfect. EVERYTHING was perfect. Thank you Luna, we will be back.

But unfortunately after our mains we ordered dessert and a coffee and I found a baby cockroach in my coffee. My partner showed the server and asked the dessert to be canceled because in all honesty at this point I felt too sick to continue eating. The owner peeked out from the kitchen at us, but never came to address the issue himself. He had the server apologize on his behalf and sent out the dessert we no longer wanted "on him". The only items comped were the dessert we did not want and the coffee with the cockroach in it. I'm truly not one to leave a bad review and I'm typically very understanding, but given the situation I am very surprised that the owner didn't have the decency to come speak to us and offer some other sort of compensation.. I ended up leaving my leftovers because I no longer felt comfortable eating something from the restaurant. I truly hope they clean things up and no one else has this experience. And I hope the owner does better in any other situations like this.

I had made dinner reservations ahead of time. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and seated right away. The inside had a nice bar and tablecloth covered tables giving off a classy yet cozy atmosphere. We were seated by the window in a cozy and more private space. It was a lovely spot. Our server brought us cold water and menus to look at. While we were looking at the menu, we were brought warm bread and butter. My husband decided to order the Moroccan Beef Tagine and I ordered the pescatore with fettuccine. I don't care too much for salmon and asked if they could please omit it. They offered to give me more shrimp and mussels, which was very nice. I really appreciated that. I'm so glad we made reservations, because the restaurant filled up fast. I definitely recommend reservations when coming here. It's a popular place for the locals. Our food arrived quickly. I was offered freshly grated Parmesan cheese for my pasta. My husband loved his Moroccan beef. I tried it and it was delicious and had so much flavor. My pasta wasn't the best, but just okay. The sauce was very bland, and I had to add a lot of salt to make it taste more flavorful. The pasta was overcooked and not al dente. The worst part was the shrimp. The shrimp were overly cooked and hard to chew. The mussels and clams were very good, though. I would have mentioned this to our waiter but I didn't want to be late to our concert. We didn't heave a lot of time to waste so I ate about half of my dish and made sure to eat all the mussels and clams. If we had more time, I would have asked if I could try something else and I'm sure they would have accommodated me. The staff were very friendly and kind. I would definitely come back and try one of their Moroccan dishes. When I read the review for this restaurant, prior to coming, many people commented on how good the Moroccan dishes were. I can see why, because my husband Moroccan beef Tagine was so flavorful. If we are ever in the area again, we will give Fiore another try.

Portions were generous and worth the price. Flavor was completely on point. For appetizers, we ordered calamari, the Calabrian chili wings, and steamed mussels/clams that came with toasted bread. My parents got an Old Fashioned. It was served very smoky and they loved it. For entrees, we got a Pappardelle Bolognese, Fettucine Alfredo (add chicken), Penne Bistecca, and a Combo pizza. Everything was on point and cooked to perfection. The two thinly sliced ribeye in the Penne Bistecca was juicy and flavorful and even had some chimichurri (or something similar) drizzled on top. Looked like they were pounded flat with a tenderizer. Not a critique, we just thought it looked funny how flattened and wide the steaks were. Fettucine Alfredo was great. Very saucy and they didn't skimp on the added chicken. The chicken was seasoned excellently and grilled to perfection. Very juicy and tender. Combo pizza was good, just your typical hot fresh out of the oven pizza with all the meats. The ONLY critique I could give was that the Pappardelle Bolognese was admittedly dry and could have used some more sauce or pasta water. Otherwise it was still delicious. Our server was really nice and patient with us, I wish I remembered his name because he was great! Very quick service and attentive.
