Fantastic Biscuits

Brunch is excellent! The menu is creative! The chef prepares food with skill and an eye for attractive plating. Orders: Shrimp and Grits Fried chicken and waffle Service was top notch. Upstairs seating is very nice although I liked eating on front patio when weather is good.

Biscuits with honey butter

One of my favorite places in Schenectady! This is my second time here since I was in town again for work and it was as good as I remember. The biscuits are a must get and ask for extra butter because you'll want it. This time I got the chicken dinner with Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. The Mac n cheese was fine but I loved the mashed potatoes and the chicken is so good! Service is always great and since it's just me I'm usually sat right away and food comes out quick. Definitely a must visit place if you're in town!

A mini plate of biscuit and sausage gravy, amazing biscuits

We ordered a couple of appetizers which were deviled eggs and pork belly and we were also able to order a mini order of biscuit with sausage gravy. We ordered an entrée of fried chicken that came with mashed potatoes and Cajun seasoned string beans which we split between the two of us. We loved all of the appetizers and would order them again maybe not the sausage gravy, which maybe had a little more salt than we wanted but still tasty. my girlfriend went nuts for the biscuits. We loved the deviled eggs we were told that they had champagne mustard mixed into it. The Pork belly was succulent and juicy delicious barbecue glaze on the outside some kind of marinated kimchi or something spicy as well that accompanied it very delicious. The carrot curry purée on the pork belly plate was to live for. Very nice pairing with the pork belly. The chicken was not crispy and even though that the menu said that the chicken was supposed to have a 24 hour brine the chicken was still kind of dry especially the white meat. It was almost as if the chicken was already cooked and reheated for us not being crispy and also kind of dry. Very tasty mashed potatoes that came with the chicken. It was buttery and bursting with flavor. We did come in and eat around 8 PM so maybe it was leftovers not sure. I don't think we would order the chicken again but we might like to order that smoked Delmonico steak that's on the menu.

Lobster Benny

Expensive but good. I had the lobster Benny. It was fantastic. Everything everyone ordered looked tasty. Our server was very nice. The place is cute with a decent amount of seating but be sure to make a reservation!

Amazing food. Definitely will be back. Service and ambience was spectacular as well Only complaint was the brussel sprouts were cooked inconsistently

I came to the Nest on Saturday night for drinks and small bites. Upon arrival, the atmosphere was buzzing and lively. I wanted to sit at the bar and there were ample seats available. Once seated, we were greeted immediately and offered water as we overlooked our menus. We were asked if we had any questions before placing our order for espresso martinis, Nashville Garlic Parmesan wings, and biscuits. The drink was expertly made - wings were off the charts and you could tell that the biscuits were freshly made. Everything was absolutely wonderful and can't wait to go back!

Such a comfy cute set up. Prices were great as well as the food and service . I was pleased with the huge portion of chicken and waffles I got. I had the cornbread as well and it didn't disappoint. I will definitely come back

Sadly I need to update my review after our last couple visits. The food is still phenomenal and 5 stars, but the service the last few times we have gone has been a 1. Each time we go we wait at least 20 minutes for our server to come over, this first appearance is just to ask what type of water you want and then you don't see her again for a few more minutes. We usually like to space out our ordering but here you feel obligated to put everything in at once or you risk of never seeing your waitress again. We were so excited to try brunch, it wasn't overly busy. We waited another 25 minutes to get our prosecco based drinks which we watched the bartender make eventually in less than a minute so it's unclear what took so long. We ordered 2 appetizers, the eggs and the grit tots. Only the grit tots came out and when our waitress eventually came back over we mentioned we were still missing the eggs, she said they'd be right out but it took about another 10 minutes. Both were delicious at least. We watched multiple other tables who came in after us, that also got appetizers get their food before us. It almost felt like we were forgotten about. Once the food did eventually come out it was very good, this hasn't changed. When we got our bill we noticed a 20% tip had already been added. We were a two person table and the menu online only mentions this is done for larger parties. Maybe the in person menu mentioned this for smaller parties but we did not notice that. Overall it was a disappointing experience and sadly this isn't the first time this has happened. This has been our experience the last 3-4 times of being here. I'm not sure what changed in terms of the wait staff but we never have this experience at their sister restaurant Milas. It's night and day with the service. Sadly we likely won't be back to the Nest which is disappointing because the food is fantastic.

Jambalaya
Melanie R.

The restaurant was very good. The ambience was very nice and industrial. The servers were friendly. I started off with the biscuits which were very good. I had the jambalaya. It had a nice supply of shrimp and sausage. The portion was big. It was spicy but not too spicy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

They have their own hot sauce and maple syrup

The decor is upscale, farm-chic. There are sprawling, beautiful dried flower bouquets on the wall. They have a full bar as well. The food was quite delicious, albeit on the sweet and spicy side. Texture of our fried chicken and ribs was delectably crispy! The service was done with a smile. Their fried chicken was crispy, crunchy, and delicious, and probably some of the best I've had to date. The walk to the bathroom felt fabulous. The wallpaper and blue walls that lined the hallway paired together well, along with the bathroom floor, stalls, and wallpaper. 4 stars because it seemed like we had to wait quite a while for our food to come

Food was delicious, service was amazing, but the drink were outrageously over priced. 4 vodka lemonades...$80.

Come for the food, stay for the folks…read more Recently moved to Upstate NY and decided I should go on a chicken wing tour of the area. I mean, these people know wings. Running errands in this area and dropped in to try Memphis King's (1st time visit) I always get the same wings (hot buffalo) at each restaurant/bar to keep things fair. Memphis King's wings are smoked, then fried. I've found that you lose a lot of smoke flavor when they're fried to order but these had just the right amount still present. Very tasty. And crispy! (a lot of smoked wings are grilled but, while delicious, it doesn't render enough of the skin to make them crispy and I like crisp!) I've sampled wings from about 30 places (so far) and I would whole heartedly put Memphis King's in my top 10 for sure. Looking forward to trying their other items because their burnt ends look great. As does the house made pastrami *droooool* As for the people, the gal in front of house was wonderful. And the chef (not sure if he was the owner or not) was so nice. Kept checking in on me to see how everything was and kept offering me suggestions and samples. Not pushy, just smart business because I'm 100% gonna go back.

Done. It was an instant hit. I wanted the pastrami sandwich pictured on the website. Turns out, it was every bit as good as it looked. Probably the best I've had in the Capital Region. I think it came with coleslaw but they let me switch it for a small salad. The beer was cold. The server/ bartender was both friendly and efficient. The food came up relatively quickly. I was relieved and delighted. The tavern has just the right look. It's cute from the outside with nice signage. Inside, the lighting is dim-- especially at night--with the feel of a cool dive bar. If you want a more festive setting during the summer, there's outdoor seating complete with hanging string lights. That actually looked very inviting but my friends chose to stay indoors due to the threat of rain. As we prepared to leave, my friends were wondering why they hadn't been to the tavern before. One thing for sure is that we'll be back for more "good cheap eats" and great beer.

The atmosphere is welcoming, they have a hibachi grill "Ting Ting Flip" room for parties, a sushi bar, and a nice dining area. It's all a great use of space for a restaurant that isn't necessarily huge, but also does not feel cramped. There's mild background music playing, so you never feel awkward between chats. And the lighting is just right, without being too dim or annoyingly bright. I started with Crab Rangoons and a California Roll. The rangoons were crispy and delicious. The California roll was fresh and hit the spot. But the Basil Chicken really blew me away tonight. It came with a mushroom broth soup which was yummy and a simple Japanese salad with a delicious sesame dressing ~ perfect for that umami craving. The main course Basil Chicken was packed with vegetables, perfectly cooked chicken, and although it was mild, had a nice kick to it. On display mushrooms, red and green peppers, onion, eggplant, broccoli, and asparagus. Really a full serving of all the good vegetables you need! The basil was not overpowering, and complimented the rest of the dish with that basil pop of flavor. Definitely will come back to order this one again!

The Point, I think refers to where the cafe is situated, at the point (or corner) of the street. From the outside, it could use some curb appeal. The waitress took her time getting over and took our order, walked over to the computer to send it to the kitchen. I can't even begin to tell you how magical my breakfast was! Another one of the perks is they not only offer the usual breakfast menu items like omelets, butter milk pancakes, French toast, eggs Benedict, etc., but they also serve Mexican offerings like chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, huevos a la Mexicana. More menu items for a slightly cheaper price, sign me up. I did order the huevos rancheros...twice. I guess I liked them. Menu states the huevos rancheros consists of "2 eggs over easy, over fried corn tortillas, topped with homemade salsa and Mexican cheese. Served with refried beans and rice." The first time, they added sliced avocados. The second time...nada. Hey, they used what was available. I also adore that dining out sometimes can get one out of a funk. Sometimes, I get so used to routine and habit that even a restaurant dish that is slightly out of my wheelhouse can get me thinking, acting, and appreciating things a bit more. If you're looking for breakfast/brunch that offers more options, no need to go further than the Point.

We have almost never been steered wrong, with recommendations from our closest friends. They've said that if you crave exceptionally made Italian food from a place that's practically a landmark you go to Canali's. Mind you, we are willing to travel if the food is in fact that good. Upon arrival, you immediately feel welcome and the staff is warm and friendly. This place certainly meets our expectations and then some. We made sure to have dinner reservations, so when we arrived we were seated immediately and given a nice basket of warm crisp bread. It bordered between a ciabatta and a house made rustic bread yum! As we looked over our menu, we ordered the calamari to start, followed by eggplant parmigiana, house made handcrafted manicotti with a side of meatballs, chicken parmigiana and chicken sorrento. Wow, the house made sauce here is so so good. Also the portions served, are very generous. We all took home at least half of our entree so we were able to enjoy it again the next day. As if we weren't full enough we were unable to resist having dessert. We shared a tiramisu as well as a slice of decadent but not overly sweet chocolate fudge cake. I'd have to say that they nailed it, as we looked all around and everyone including ourselves who were dining were quite satisfied. They rightfully call them their "famous" roasted potatoes. Italian Bread was outstanding! Tortellini Primavera was blah. Sauce was too thin. Not enough vegetables. 2 Stars Ziti looked okay, but I did not have any. I heard the sauce was good. Baby Meatballs were weak, bland and slightly spongy in texture like frozen ones from market. 2 Stars Salad was limp and dressed too soon. Very little in it besides salad greens. Water was served in plastic cups, but there were nice white cloth napkins. Wines, coffee, and cookies were self serve. Price for this Buffet was $20. plus tax and gratuity per person offered Noon to 4 pm Wed. thru Sunday. The Chicken Marsala protein was selected from several. I would order the chicken, potatoes, and bread again on another visit or by takeout. Parking lot is huge. Many stairs lead down to the large basement Banquet Room.
