Ouch! I've been here twice now, the first time was fine, this time not so much. They do a great job making the nails look very nice, but this time it really hurt :( I said "ow" and he acknowledged it so I thought he'd go easier, but he actually ended up drilling a hole in my nail. I've been going to this salon for over 9 years. I stopped getting my nails done altogether for a few years though. I just went back today for the first time and was surprised to see new ownership. The new employees are great! Alisa did my full set and she did an amazing job. I asked for short coffin shape and she nailed it (no pun intended) lol. I came back after not getting my nails done in a long time. I've always come to this particular place. I was charged $83 for a full acrylic set and a basic pedicure. They have a price sheet posted that says a full set starts at $37, how in the world did it go up to $53? When I questioned the charges, I was told $53 for the acrylic set and $30 for the pedi. Not only that, I was asked to sign a receipt that had no way of entering a tip so it seems they helped themselves to whatever tip they deemed reasonable. Needless to say, that will be my last visit. Worst gel mani I've ever had. Polish started chipping on day 3. The tech that did it didn't seem to know what she was doing. She kept asking how to do it and had to go back a few steps and do over a couple of times. When I asked for "repairs" the "boss"(?) seemed put out, so much so that I just gave up. I went in with a group of friends for a morning of pampering and we were not disappointed. Wow, I have had my share of manicures and this is by far one of the best for the price point. For $35( with an extra $5 charge for french tips) this was amazing! As usual, I started off with a warm soak of my cuticles in preparation for the clean up and polish provided by my manicurist Loanne. Following the application of my manicure I was massaged with a warm oil from fingertip to my forearms. The woman then came around to the back of my chair and proceeded to continue with a full upper arm and shoulder massage. I was in HEAVEN! I have never been to this salon before but have to say I was impressed and will be back... do you want to know why? Top reasons: Clean- Each of the stations for the pedicures is equipped with a portable tub that is covered with a disposable plastic liner. The tubs are filled in the back with warm water and rolled over to the station. The hygiene does not end there. The technician uses all new loofahs and sterile equipment. The exfoliation loofahs and files are placed in a plastic bag for you to take home as they will not be reused. Friendly- I observed each tech being very friendly and attentive to their client's needs. Great hours- Open 7 days per week Great service- Techs are friendly, attentive to make sure you leave with a service you are happy with. My nails look and feel amazing. Offer Student discounts. I had to stop at 4 salons to find one that understood what I meant by pink sparkle acrylic. I don't like polish. I think my nail lady's name is luann. Not only is she very nice, but Consistent. Consistency is a big thing to me. Whenever I pay for a kind of service, I expect consistency. And she delivered. I've been there three times now. She's done my fills. Finally last week I had enough time to get a pedicure or so I thought. Now I'm going to tell you...When they first came out with a bucket of water I was thinking oh hell no. But they put something in the water, I don't know what. It was just wonderful. I didn't miss the jets at all. My feet were bad. So I was paying for the best pedi. I think it's called the Royal. I don't think it was that expensive. It was less than 60. And I paid 70 for my last picture and it was not half as good as this one. That woman scrubbed my feet. I don't know her name but she was wonderful. Then after that she rubbed them which was wonderful. I usually hate when people touch my feet. This is why I only get one pedicure a year. Usually. Then she wrapped these hard hot things on the bottom of my feet. I'm sorry if this offends, but it was borderline orgasmic. I don't know how else to explain it without getting my point across. Sadly my daughters ages 24 and 4 walked in. And they demanded I leave. So I was wiped off, polished & left. She was not even close to being done. Well... I came here today because a lot of salons were booked for Mother's Day. I asked before I sat down if they were busy and if there was a wait. She told me 20 mins. I have now waited an hour, while they are taking other customers who made appointments over me. I wish that they would've just told me they were busy so I didn't have to sit here forever wasting my time. I'm about ready to just walk out of the salon. Quiet literally the worst mani pedi I have ever had. I get were in a global pandemic but serious worst experience. Only 2 people working. Each other helping each other and not focusing. I had been cut numerous time and even flinched a few times and barely got her attention back. Then my mani. On lord. Never been to nails 101 before but live really close by, was making a quick trip to Tahoe with friends and wanted to get my toes painted in a festive way for fun, the girl that did my pedicure kept trying to cut my toenail cuticles and dig in the sides of my toes? Which I told her not to do I've never had ingrown toenails nor I had problems with overgrowth of skin/cuticles on my toes.I mean they were nice enough and the place wasn't 100% clean they kept apologizing because they had some kind of machine in the middle I don't know if it was for sucking out moisture or for air filtration? And they were doing some kind of remodeling. Anyway long story short my toenails were hurting when I came back from Tahoe I took off my nail polish and both of my big toes have some kind of black fungus or infection now I have to make an appointment to see a podiatrist and probably fork out a whole bunch of money! I've never ever had a nail infection or any kind of fungus on my feet or toes I am disgusted and told him that I will never go back to this nail shop again! The ladies are really nice, and yes I know we are still dealing with being short staffed cause of Covid, but there is only 2 lady's working in here with 3 customers waiting for services. The place is nice and clean. They only have a playlist of about 10 songs if that. In the time I've been here I've heard the same songs 2 to 3 times already. The lady doing my nails filed the crap out of my skin, not on purpose but still. They have the door open on a 90 degree day with no A/C on except for one stand up fan. I need to get gel fill and pedicure. I also brought daughter for her manicure with gel and pedicure. I was told to sit in the chairs for pedicure first, which makes sense. But Loanne says she'll do my nails cuz it takes longer. Well it was near closing time and my pedicure was not dried. Cuz after I left, my left toe polish was smudged from my shoe! If my pedicure was done first, this wouldn't be an issue! I'm definitely going back for them to fix for free! I absolutely love this salon for a variety of reasons. First and foremost being the cleanliness. They give you the disposable tools they use in your pedicure like the file, buffer, and pumice to take home with you so you know they are fresh and new. They also fill up removable tubs to soak feet in and line them each time with a plastic cover that is taken off after each client. The staff is also incredible.
