I did not have a good experience during my first visit, but I decided to give it another try. Unfortunately, this visit was even more disappointing than the first. The technician only used one hand to scrub my feet and didn't hold them steady with her other hand. I felt rushed, and she didn't take the time to clean my nails properly. The overall cleanliness was unsatisfactory; I felt I could have done a better job myself, which was unexpected. Maybe they had a busy start to their day, but I arrived around noon this time, midweek. For some reason, all the towels she used were wet. I regret asking for the additional spa treatment because the towels were damp. I felt gross afterwards and felt the need to sanitize. read more

DON'T GO HERE! I walked in for a gel with powder removal and they e filed the whole thing off and into my NATURAL nail. It left my nails dry, matte, AND PAPER THIN. Horrible experience. I went to this nail salon because they are open late. I went to get acrylic nails, since I was going to wedding next day. I asked the front desk lady, if I need appointment, she informed me walk ins are welcome. No problem, I took a sit and waited for my turn. Lady who did my nails did not tell me her name so not sure who she was. She did not cut my nails or file them. She started to taping the nails on my fingers. I told you're going to cut and file them, her answer was no need. No problem, if you say so. Then she did a sloppy job on my nails. One of her usual customers walked in and she left me sitting there and came back told me you're done. I was in shock, but I didn't want to make a scene. I just paid and left. I could have done a better job doing it myself w nail powder DIY fr Ebay. This was the job of that same owner who does really bad job. She did this for half an hour. The nail quality is poor (the acrylics themselves) they'll break Easily, and then nail polish chips right away more than I'd care to mention. They aren't sanitary and they use dirty equipment on your nails, such as cuticle cutters or their Dremel sanders. There was one woman who works there, who seemed nice at first. She was pretty much 'my' nail tech. Then one day she was cold and surly for reasons unknown, as I'm always very nice to her and she had treated me well before. In that same visit, a client whom she apparently liked, walked in while my nails were halfway done. She said hi to this person, gingerly, then began to rush through finishing my nails. They looked terrible. She definitely didn't use the same care (middle of the road) as she had done before. I would post a picture here and show the terrible job, yet that wouldn't be anonymous for her. I was very disappointed, and I always tip 50%! (The reason for this is that if somebody spends an hour doing you a service, $20 is basically minimum wage, so I felt they deserved that, or more, for their time in general. Another truly annoying thing was that they all refuse to use a color you bring in yourself, claiming "it's not really gel" even when it says gel on the bottle and when you can clearly see that it is. They still insist on using their own cheap, and of poor quality nail polish, that is not the color of style you wanted. I asked for stiletto and they gave me almond three times. Even if you show them a picture, it's like they do whatever they feel is good, instead of what you specifically asked for. I give this place a D- collectively. Everything is so wrong for how a nail shop should be. Management should have their employees step it up a lot. Well, any nail tech will probably speak poorly about you in another language but that's just how it goes. They seemed to do this minimally, but they still got their jabs in. I DO NOT recommend spending your time or money at The Nails Spa in Simi Valley, when there are many other 4-5 star salons. This salon has a 3.9 somehow on Google and I see a 2.9 here on Yelp. I hope this helps people understand what this establishment is like, and then they will be informed upon using this business's services. read more

Rude! I WILL NEVER GO BACK! There was an elderly gentleman there for a pedicure. The lady working on him came over to the ladies doing my mani/pedi and showed them the gunk she apparently dug out from his toes. They all laughed. It was not only disgusting, I felt it was very embarrassing for that gentleman and extremely rude. And there was a mentally impaired woman waiting for her nails to dry. She saw the dryer they were using on my gel polish and asked what it was. They looked at her, but completely ignored her, so she asked again. They still didn't answer. It was so very rude. I went to get my nails done by the guy that works there and he was totally rude I showed him everything that I wanted the length and shape all with gel. I could already tell he wasn't listening to what I wanted so I just waited and watched, then he brought the nail polish to paint my nails but I wanted them to be long nails with gel. I have been going to The Nail Spa for over four years now and am very happy with the outcome. The salon is always clean and comfortable. I usually get a spa manicure with Kelly and she is the best! Sitting in the massage chair is a plus. I always stay a bit to let the nail polish dry and enjoy an extra run of the massage chair. I highly recommend The Nail Spa. I don't think they cared a bit and the lady who sits at the desk in front (with her feet up reading magazines) could care even less. Her tone of voice alone was rude. My polish started chipping within 2 days and they have a bad selection of no-name brand polishes. Not OPI or Essie. Not returning.
