Took my dog Murphy...Golden Retriever to get groomed and have been there several times before pretty satisfied. This time I picked him up and they cut him like another dog of ours. Left him there so they could fix it. I was horrified!! They shaved him to the nub. Even all the hair off his ears!! Poor baby looked like he was in pain. Manager didn't seem too concerned. Great way to bathe your dogs! My mastiff loved the warm water, my 13 to dog could get in and out if the tub easily and my 5 month old Rotsky was easier to handle. I highly recommend Mutt Puddle. read more

I love this place!!! I almost always groom my own dogs, so having a place I can take my Aussies and big lab but I don't have to deal with the mess it leaves behind is a major win!!! As I dry my big male Aussie it's like it is snowing in there, and they never say a word. I do clean up after myself as much as I can and leave a tip for what I leave behind. But I love having a place where I can bathe the boys without breaking my back and having water and fur all over my house! Lol read more

Wow this place really takes the cake. The owner is so nice and has an amazing knowledge of what you need for your type of dog and, is very helpful in sharing it with you to give you best service he can. I washed my 80 lb German Shepard for a very cheap 19 bucks they provide everything ( tooth brushes, scrubbers, ear cleaners and about 20 different shampoos and more.) The easy access tubs and great water temp sprayer make it super easy to wash any size dog. Highly recommend this place and I will surely be back. read more

After being clients of Mutt Puddle for 4+ years, today I was treated so poorly by the owner, Mariah. The previous owner, Mike Kelly, would never have treated us this way. We always appreciated the staff at Mutt Puddle. They took great care of our dogs. When we showed up for our appointment on Monday to have two dogs groomed, they said we did not have an appointment. I had called and confirmed our appointment twice before the day of. On Monday, Mariah indicated she would only have time to bath & groom our smaller dog and just bath our bigger dog (Sully). I rescheduled to have Sully groomed today. When I went in they told me that I would have to pay $95 to have Sully groomed. We've never paid that much to have him groomed. I asked to see Mariah. I first told Mariah that we should not have to pay for another bath as Sully had just been bathed on Monday. Mariah said, "if you want your dog groomed today, then you need to pay the $95 up front". She was not willing to compromise on the price (charging us for another bath), she indicated that the grooming price on Doodles had gone up without giving us any notice and was unprofessional in the way she handled the whole situation. Consequently, she's lost 2 clients with a total of 5 dogs. read more

In the past I have not been a fan of the grooming places due to my dogs were either scared when they were done, have an injury that I found, or the price did not match with the quality of service. I used a mobile grooming for a long time until the owner sold the business and was not the same. I ventured back out to see about brick and mortar groomers again. Prior to MIke owning this establishment I was not very impressed and stop going. I decided to give this place a shot again hearing there was a new owner who was passionate about quality care of grooming pets. I have been rather impressed with the quality of service, the care they take in grooming my pets. They don't seems scared or rattled as before and welcome the staff. The price might seem a bit higher than others, but the quality is what you are getting and care. You need to remember every breed is different and individuals likes are different, so that alone can be tough. They will always do what they can to accommodate last minute which is huge for me. Once you find a groomer you like stick with them and they will also do what they can to get with the same groomer if requested. I can honestly say you wont wrong with Mutt Puddle as long as mike owns the place. I have found that if you ever have an issue he will be on top of it and do what is right for the pet/owner. I was going to the mckinney location until i moved now I come to allen and the same experience applies. read more

I took my (large) dog in for a self-service trip - my first. The manager, Jenny, was so helpful - I've washed dogs my whole life but never "groomed" a dog like you can at the Mutt Puddle. She helped me understand the why/how of the different shampoos/conditioner/dryer and helped me get the undercoat shedding off my Aussie. Highly recommended! read more

PROS: flexible in scheduling an appt on a saturday with less than a day's notice; they did cut my pup as requested (not complicated, just an all-over shave) CONS: the service over the phone and in person was very lacking. not very personable at all, borderline gruff. even the groomer that took her back didn't seem like a 'dog' person. nonetheless, i was very appreciative they could get us in and they have very fancy doggy spas for bathing, and being located off stacy, i thought they'd be pretty good. when i went to pick her up, a different groomer brought her out and just pretty much handed her off to me. no report on how she did, "does she look good?", etc. everyone was just there to do a job and that's it. price was about as much as the big box pet places and with less love. then i brought her home to find that she had fleas AND ticks! i'm absolutely not saying that she got them at the mutt puddle (she was staying at someone else's home prior to this grooming session) -- what i AM saying is no one even bothered to tell me. i know people switch shifts but my gosh, have notes or something to relay to the customer what happened during the grooming session. now i have an inkling as to why their schedule was so open to get us in on a saturday with less than 24 hours' notice. very disappointing. read more

I have three dogs that I take to Mutt Puddle and I just love that place because it's very clean, organized and the staff are so nice and helpful with anything I needed. I get my Mookie groomed with Ashley and she always does a great job with Max and at first I had a problem leaving my Max but Ashley made me feel comfortable that he was in good hands. She will get me in even when she is busy. This is a great place to take your pet. read more

I loved taking my pups to the Mutt Puddle! We went for the first time this weekend. Jenny and the staff treated us like family and were even super sweet to my little girls! We had our ratchi mix breed puppies bathed, nails clipped and teeth brushed. The facility is large, very clean and everyone was professional and friendly. So many others feel the same as there was a lot of business. They are open Saturday and Sunday and walk ins are welcome. They also have some cute boutique retail items for sale. This is a one stop shop! We will be back!!! read more

We have tried 3 different groomers for our 100 lb doodle and by far this has been the best experience for the past year. Adam was extremely helpful and understanding of my rescue pup who was nervous about coming in for a self-service bath. He was very sweet helping get her in the main room and she felt right at home being loved on enough to let us lift her into the spacious bath tub. They have a wide range of choices as far as shampoo and even extras like perfume and ear drops, a nice blow dryer attached to each tub, and fresh towels available if you can't bring your own. The facility was clean and well laid-out and the staff were very careful and you could tell they took great care of the dogs they worked on. I also saw that they were extremely patient and kind with the other nervous dog being groomed in the next tub down. I am very impressed and will definitely be returning! read more

I usually only bathe my Labradoodle there, but after being unable to get him groomed at the normal place I go, I decided to get him groomed at Mutt Puddle. It was a bit more expensive but Charlie did such an amazing job! All of our friends and family were commenting on how great he looked. I really loved this place. Good ambiance and unique concept in that they have lots of tubs for do-it-yourself bathing option. They provide towel, shampoo, dryers, and brushes for around $20. They also had a sign about a Happy Hour from 2-4pm, M-Th that gets 20% off as well. I opted for the groomer, because my dog had lots of shedding and needed professional help. The groomer was amazing! I believe her name is Alison. She also does tons of volunteer work with local rescues and shelters so she knew a lot of great info, and talked a lot with me about resources and tips for my rescue dog. She washed and groomed him for almost 2 hours for a GREAT price! He left the salon with a spring in his step and looking (and smelling) 100x's better :) I would highly recommend. read more

We love bringing our dogs here for the self service wash. The shampoo for the sensitive skin and conditioner works so well for our lab with dry skin! It is quick and affordable and they smell like they have been professionally bathed for days. read more

I will not return. I had an 11:00 appointment and told them on the phone and at drop off what I wanted for my golden retriever. The dog has been here a few times. At 1:00 I called to see when he might be finished since I was in the area. They told me in about 30 minutes. At 2:30 I still have not heard from them so I went up there. He was bathe but not cut because they said the groomer didn't know he was supposed to be cut. But they would do it right away. They also said he was "wild" . A 5 year old golden??? He is very calm. He had been caged since 11:00 and probably needed to go to the bathroom! So, if the groomer thought he was there for a bath only then why was he there for 3 hours and 45 minutes? I know this is a busy time but you make appointments for a reason and they couldn't get the instructions clear about the cut. And by the way....it looks like it was cut in 5 min. read more
